Shandy's weight loss diary: Take 3--Action!

JZ-you can count on me pestering you about your cardio. it's a highlight of my day. ;)

Amanda-Welcome back! looks like me you and paul all disappeared at the same time. wonder if he's going to show back up soon? I'll be sure to pop in on your journal once I get out from under all the others. :D I got burried once I signed back in. :D


So, Agip finally came out and filled my propane tank, so yay I have heating in the entire house instead of just the bedrooms and living room. god that sucked. and now I can actually COOK. no more excuses for eating like a pig. the holidays are over(well till Feb at least) so I need to get my ass in gear and get moving!!
ate horrifically today. seriously. we're talking trix cereal for breakfast, cheezits for lunch, creamy chicken pasta for a snack(sound a little backwards?) some kettle corn, a hand full(or 2) of jelly beans.....yeah I suck. and I haven't even done dinner yet. I'm scared to think of what disaster I'll end up eating. :piggy::blush5::piggy::blush5::piggy:
I've got my 2 mile tape all prepped and ready to go for before bed tonight, so with any luck I"ll actually get some kind of exercise in. I'm thinking about getting the 2mile walk -strong tape set up too. 4 miles before bed isn't bad. no where near the kind of activity level I'll need to get rid of 8lbs in 5 weeks, but hey, if I can manage to lose a pound a week until Matt gets home, I'm not gonna complain at all. Hell even if I don't lose any weight, if I can drop an inch here and there and build enough muscle to save my ribs from breaking, I'll be content. ;)
And on that note, I'm going to go try and be a good girl and eat a healthier dinner than what I ate earlier today:blush5:
 
hey shandy! HOw are walking tapes? I've never really seen any. Does it just have you walk in place?? 4 miles sounds like a good work out either way. How long until Matt gets home? I bet you and the girls have missed him a lot! Hope you have a wonderful day... I'll probably see you in chat sometime today.
 
no laughing, but my grandma got me started on the walk away the pounds videos. it's fairly low impact so I could do them while pregnant(or even sick). it's not all walking in place, but it's no jumping and bouncing around either. you do 2 miles in a half hour. you've got the option of using those mini-medicine balls for weights(I use 5-10lbs dumbells instead). it's really just a low impact cardio/girly weight training thing.
Matt's got another month and a half to go. The littlins have actually done really well with him being gone for so long. though it helps that he has internet access and a laptop with webcam. on his days off he calls us on Skype and we do a video call with him and the kids. it's great. Made Xmas alot better than we figured it was going to be.
 
Skype is a great thing for families that have someone far away. A friend of mine does the same thing (did the same thing for christmas too) because her husband is in the army, and she lives in New York. Thank Goodness for technology right?
 
no kidding. it's been great. I talk to my mom and grandparents back in AZ on there, and matt while he's deployed. it's fantastic.

as far as your picture not showing up, did you upload an avatar or just a profile pic? the avatar is what shows up when you post something on here. the profile picture is just for your actual profile.

Hey Christina, thanks for stopping in. the exercising is going fantastic. Brandy Renee and I got together on Chat and did a 1 hour "virtual buddy workout." We all did one hour of exercise on our own, then popped in and said what all we did and such. it was great. awesome way to get that little extra motivation to work harder. Hopefully you'll be able to jump on chat with us one of these nights that we're doing it. it really is fun.

So, yeah, did that hour worth of exercise. bit of cardio (4 miles of walking) and some weights too. squats, lunges, chest press, bicep curls, tricep extentions, and rows. so HA! no kicking my butt JZ, I did great!
My eating sucked, but I did okay for dinner and post-workout snacking.
And now, seeing as it's officially the week AFTER newyears (silly superstitious Shandy) I can really start keeping track of my daily calories again. I've got the white board on the fridge all set up for it already. So, here's to a fresh start and some added motivation.


6 Week Challenge Day 1 (for me at least since I'll probably be stopping a couple days early with Matt coming home before the actual end of the challenge)... Here we go!!!
 
*JZ pokes his head in, sees the WEIGHTS in Shandy's workout, and decides to just say hey*

Working out "together" really was fun. I hope we can do it again. Eating sucked?? BAD SHANDY! *slap slap* lol. When Matt gets home you will stop being on WLF? You really will only need to pop in the last day for posting final results and such. How long does he come home for? A few months? Well, I'll probably see you in chat today/tonight. So have a wonderful day! Keep up the exercise, and good eating from now on!! :D
