seeing little gains, opinions, help!

I hit the gym every third day. Over the past two months I've seen some good gains, but it's slowing down now. SO! Do I keep going every third day and increase the reps, or go every 2nd day and keep the reps the same. OR??? opinions appreciated!

What gains are you looking for? strength or size?

Sounds as though its time to increase the weight of your weights. For example, before you might have been only able to lift 10kg for 10 reps, after a while your muscle adapts, and youl be able to do 10kg and 20 reps until you fatigue. So depending on your goal ( strength heavy weights, size mod), accustom your weight to the number of reps.

hope that made sense :p

Have you changed your diet at all ? That always plays a major part for me. Maybe increase the weight your using.

my diet is great, no issues there, although i should probably cut down on the booze, lol.

gains: for example: i was adding about 5lbs to the benchpress every week, now i'm down to about 2.5lbs/week. i want to get back to that 5lbs/week, or 2.5lbs every say 5 days instead of every 7, know what i mean? i want to lift MORE weight, not particularly the endurance, but if i have to do more reps to lift more weight, i'll do that?

hope that info helps you guys help me :)

Well you can't keep getting better at the same rate. Imagine a graph. You will get better, the line will be steeper as the weight gets higher, in a short time peroid, however, eventually it will start leveling off, even grounding to a hault, but eventually it picks up again. This applies to most things, especially sport. See it as achievement, not as a problem, unless of course it does ground to a hault ;) 2.5lbs per weeks not too bad mate.

I agree with the others. Your gains are bound to slow down over time. 2.5 pounds a week would be 125 pounds a year. Not many people increase their bench by 125 pounds in a year (never mind the 250 pounds you would be on track for at 5 pounds a week). Just keep lifting!
