Season starting &lifting 2 a day?

ok, In about a week Track & Field season is gonna start for me. Im a 245lb, 6'2 shot and discus thrower. He is my question. Before practice we lift weights on monday, wed, and fri. It normal goes:

Mon:
bench
hanging leg raises
push-ups

Wed:
Squat
Body weight step ups
1-legged press
dips

Fri:
Cleans
incline bench
abs

Personaly i think this weight routein is complete sh!t. Is it ok for me to do these workouts and after practice go back in there and do some isolated lifts like bi's & chest one day, back & tri's one day, then concentrate on diffrent leg movements for a leg day? Im just getting kind of weaker by doing our coaches workout. On this christmas break i did my own routein and iv gotton stringer in those 2 weeks than all of pre-season

Thanks

Is there no way of 'opting out' of this? Maybe if you told your coach that you've got a PT and he said that you can't do any other lifting then maybe your coach would let you do your own thing?

Body weight step ups? They belong at fat camp, not strength training

Belive me, i agree completeley. But no, our head coach is a complete dick but has won State Championship 4 out of the last 5 years so he has this mind set of "4 out of 5, i must be doing everything right and i aint changing a thing".

He sounds successful so he must be doing something right.
However, everyone should accept that they can improve what they're doing, you might just need to find the right way to approach him with suggestions
