Good decision on the choice of dessert. I would totally choose strawberries over chocolate cake too.
Don't beat yourself up about the gain. From what I understand, women's bodies are so complex that our weight keeps fluctuating according to the what time of the day it is, what we have eaten, what we have not eaten, time of the month. It is amazing how many little things affect our weight.
From your diary I know how hard you work and how seriously you take your workouts. I wish I had half your discipline. And you are watching what you are eating (you getting better and better at it)...making healthy choices. We all stumble once in a while..this is all learning experience after all.
I have been eating not-so-well in the last few days. Tomorrow when I weigh, I will probably have gained a few pounds (i am absolutely certain of that, also tis TOM), but I am promising myself I am not going to beat myself up over it. In the long run, it is just not worth it.
Also, try to go back to weighing yourself once a week, if that helps. I do it every week (i signed up for the august challenge here and it keeps me really disciplined about weigh ins). Maybe that would help.

. By the end I was totally wiped. No joke. But I find myself looking forward to day 2-and I love that each week is a new challenge so that I can monitor any improvements.
