Scales? (for weight)

I've been using the standard bathroom scale for my weight for years. I saw a friend with a scale that performed all types of measurements: body fat, water retention..... It had a lot of programming and allowances (manual) for muscle and such.

What should I be looking for in a home scale?

Thanks

First off, Do you think you really need a scale? If you are going for fat loss but want to gain some muscle mass, you're weight is going to fluxuate, so there is really no point into looking at the scale for progress...

You could try something like girth measurements/% Body Fat/trying to get into some old clothes/monthly pictures of yourself/etc... Personally I find the scale to be an inaccurate measure of progress because all you focus on is a number rather than how you feel and look...

I use a Target special - $6.99 - but my weight is not all that important to me. I use a 3 step method to measure my results: 1. Scale, 2. Mirror, 3. How I feel.

Works great for me, once in a while I'll take a measurement too.
