Sauna... Yay or Nay?

The gym where I work out at has a sauna and I've have been thinking about trying it out. I've done some reading online and i've read that a 15-20min sauna session can burn as many calories as 30 minute session on a rowing machine or is almost equivalent to 1-2 hours of brisk walk or 1 hour of exercise.

I know it's no not a substitute for exercise but it looks like a decent way to help with creating/ maintaing a calorie deficit.

Does anyone else use the sauna? Have you found any benefits and/or drawbacks?

lol

Uhm the benefits of using a sauna...your pores get cleaned =)

The drawbacks...You only lose water weight, which will come back eventually. If you chew a piece of gum for an hour you lose 25 calories, so chew gum instead lol.

saunas don't burn fat. if that were the case, everyone living in desert states (AZ, NM, NV, etc) would all be more slender.

saunas make you sweat, so you may exit a pound lighter, but its all water weight, and you run the risk of dehydration if you're not drinking enough water to begin with.

the heat does feel good on sore muscles.

Not sure about any real benefits, but I just enjoy relaxing in the sauna for 20 mins after my workout. It's just really nice to lie down and enjoy the quiet. Actually, I like the steamroom even better.
