SS, I think you started out while I was on a hiatus, and then I never got caught up with you when I came back, anyway HI!

Good progress. Hang in there man.
 
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. This is Saturdaysaint... and my progress hit a snag :(. I've slowly as of late have started getting a little lax with my diet. I've still exercised like normal, but I've increasingly let my diet include more carbs, a few more fats then I need to allow...and I'm paying for it. As most of you know, if you've followed my diary, know that I've gotten to 213.5 lbs. Which I was completely happy about. Floored actually. Well...starting Thursday, my dieting really started to slip. I had ordered a sub from the local deli, eating half Thursday for lunch, and the other half for lunch on Friday. Now, a sub is a sub, no big deal right? But I can't help but think that the bread in it had some adverse action on my weight....I just FELT heavy after eating it. It wasn't like the worst sub I could get..it was a turkey one...not TOO bad. Anyway, I added some pringles crisps which was about 160 cals. I've been snitching food as well... almost seems like every chance I get I'm grabbing a few chips here or a cracker there... It adds up fast. I exercised on Friday, took my rest day on Saturday, planned on gazelling saturday as well but never got around to it... Sunday I exercised and worked REALLY hard... but didn't get to stretch at the end because we ended up having company later and I ran out of time... Ended up having barbecue with TWO pieces of Garlic Toast. Ugh...it just tasted so good. But I did choose the charbroiled chicken with a sweet potato so..that was good I think.

So now, Saturday night, I go get on the scale and I'm up to 219!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean seriously! how the heck did I manage that one? Now I'm probably retaining water, or it was the garlic toast, or or or or... So I'm recommiting myself to being pretty strict with my eating. Gonna try to limit my chip eating, along with watching my carbs... I'm just down today... I got on the scale and this morning, I'm down again to 217. So I've gained 3.5 lbs! I'm disappointed with myself... I've been on my way down lately, and this is the first significant gain for me... normally I'd stay or gain just 1 lb...but not 3.5!!! Ugh...sorry... just frustrated. This morning, I got up to exercise and just because I was in such a bad mood, I barely wanted to go on. I finished it though...but my heart just wasn't in it like usual... Found out there's a new section called the "harsh truth"... maybe I'll pop over there and see what I can find out over there!
 
I think it is a little normal to slowly add a little here and there when doing well, I do...I call it fear, LOL...i think that has been my problem to , Ive comsumed to much fat these last few days...havent been exercising except for my two big walks and have been over my cals the last 2 days...Im sorry to hear abt your big gain, Im hopin and assuming it is just water...you know where i am if you need to talk/cry/vent/whatever:D:D:D
 
Usually when your weight fluctuates its water weight anyway. So don't get too excited when you drop 10 pounds in a couple of week, and in the same fashion, don't get too down when you put 2 on in a week. Just hang in there.
 
Aww cheer up! You have still come a long way. Don't get discouraged, you have the best attitude! yeah my weight fluctuates everyday due to fluid. I know you can lose the rest. :)
 
Stick with it SS, we all have times where we get complacent about things and let it go. Its always reflected on the scale which is a good reminder to kick things back where they should.

You know you can do it, and do it well!
 
Woh! Some nasty moments for you there! I'm sure you will be reporting a better kind of excitement very soon. You have already made such a big change. :)
 
I agree, it's probably just water weight. You would have had to eat 3500 more calories than normal just to gain 1 lb of fat, this is without exercising. It's definitely water, I know you didn't eat that much. Maybe you should reduce your sodium if you're retaining water.

I also gained like 2lbs this week, I'm not worried about it because I know its not fat, just water probably.

Hey man, I figure that the Garlic Toast I had with my barbecue acted like a sponge! LOL I think the reason this jump affected me so much was because I'm getting closer and closer to onederland...and it was like I was moving away!

Thanks emily...not sure we've met before. Everyone at work keeps tellin me that I'd look fine if I stopped here... but the don't realize that I'm still considered Obese :( But I'm almost out of that range and into the "Overweight" range (according to my BMI)... which...for the first time..I'll be proud to proclaim that I'm OVERWEIGHT!

You'll get passed this snag SS - it's just one day at a time!

Thanks Felici for the encouragement... i'm doing my best... and it's moreso a impatience thing I think... I over think things and also weigh everyday... not so sure it's such a good motivator anymore...it used to help me keep my butt in gear... but now it stresses I think...gotta ween from the daily weighins....

That REALLY put things in perspective Change... that would be 15,750 cals that I would have needed to consume in two days (that's how fast the jump in weight came)... I think NOT! LOL..AND I exercised. Like I said above... Ithink that part of the culprit was the garlic toast...

I lost my water weight! 2-3lb overnight is all good :D

Also got nominated to be member of the month at my local gym. Febuary is looking great!

Holy Crap..good for you Wishes! You're doing smashing! I've picked back up... didn't exercise this morning because I got a late start... I may try to gazelle tonight. If I don't..I'll just make today my "off day" for exercise and rearrange it to Saturday (my normal off day). Do I get the forum award for member of the week? or are you gonna steal all the kudos?! :p
 
Hey all... so...i'm changing up the way I do things a bit... I LOVE the new section on the site called "Harsh Truth"... it's a true Godsend being that theres a chance that I haven't been doing the right things when it comes to my diet. Sure I've been losing, but it may not have been the healtiest way. We'll see though... MTM&K is still havin her ups and downs... She's doing a little better... almost 12 weeks though..so we'll see if this pregnancy is any different from the other two. And now... I'm down again to 214.5...so yes...my freakout was unwarrented after all... I freak out too easy! LOL... how's everyone today?
