SaturdaySaint's Diary

Ahhh...another mac lover :)

I've been using macs exclusively since '90 and my husband since they came out in '84 - we have every mac we've ever owned still, including the original '84 that's signed on the inside of the casing!

Just last week I bought a new mac mini duo core and I LOVE it! Granted, my old '98 revB iMac was finally dying ;)
Some of those older macs will be worth a *LOT*
My sister is a mac fanatic (though i have an old imac too), and we know The Woz fairly well.

Anyway, just popping in, how do you get an 11 page diary in 4 days? LOL! I haven't been getting to diaries much this week, so I'm a bit slow!
Post whore *grin*:D

Wait...before I post.... y...yo.. You know WOZ? or just know OF The Woz?

I'm home now! Sorry for the mac tangent! Woz is so awesome... anyway... Here's the breakdown from my luncheon:

Buffet style sandwich spread:

Skipped the clam showder
Caeser Salad with less than a tablespoon of dressing, parmesean cheese.
Sandwich on white (HEY..I don't even really like white bread anymore...I prefere whole grain or whole wheat... rotisserie turkey slices (really good...but don't even want to THINK about the sodium level), lettuce, tomatos, Onions, pickle and YES... a little bit of mayo (less than a tablespoons worth... it was a GOOD sized sandwich). I topped it off with water, 2 small oatmeal cookies and a sliver of cheesecake (I know I know!!! sorry everyone... sniff sniff...)... IT WAS GOOD... I make no excuses! LOL... I actually didn't eat all THAT much... I'll go light on dinner tonight... fair enough?

So.... it's morning... normally I post earlier but

20 on the stationary
20 on the gazelle
43 pushups
30 situps

Okay, okay, I KNOW that the Gazelle must be some sort of exercise equipment that I've never heard of, but this really brought to mind a wonderful mental image.

`Honey, I'll be out on the Gazelle for the next 20 minutes. Hi Ho Speedy, Away!'
(Sound of rapid hoofbeats racing into the distance).

HAHAHA..... I wish..that'd be so much fun! Here's what a gazelle is:

Not as much exertion as the bike....but I get a good 200 calories burned from it a morning so...I can't complain!

How was your day Tombie?

Ah, I think my idea is better. But I guess if I tried to ride a gazelle it would skewer me with it's horns before I got close to riding it!

Had a good Friday. Friday is Junk Food Night! Ate fried chicken & chips, had a nice bottle of beer with it. Mmmm. It was so greasy though, I could barely finish it. I never used to notice the grease, now it seems almost overwhelming.

Still, it was good! I don't weigh myself on Saturday mornings because of junk food night :)

Geezus! nearly 4 pages to catch up... and I thought I was bad!! ;):D ..lol.
Congrats on the water! I feel soo much better when i have at least 100oz a day.. but I've been falling about 40 shy for the past couple of weeks.

Keep up the great work!! You're doing fantastic!! :D

So... we're home... and I am DEAD tired! gonna sleep in tomorrow!!!! YAY (which means...probably till 6 a.m. how times have changed!) I'm gonna try to catch up on some diary's tonight... then hit the hay! I'm sitting next to my lovely wife..who's posting in some diary's herself! We're such nerds! :p

You'd think wishes knows a bit of my posting style ;)

And yeah, sorry for the mac tangent...have I mentioned I love my mini? ;)

Sounds like a good luncheon - and yummm cheesecake!

I didn't know there were so many MacAddicts in here.... That makes me so happy!!! My buddy has a Intel Powermac... decked out. PLUS, they screwed up the ram upgrade on his macbook 3 times so they finally gave him a $500 giftcard to the apple store plus upgraded him to a Macbook pro for FREE!!!!

Ever know someone that just has all the luck? Meet my friend! LOL

If only his luck would rub off :)

I actually had a great deal from the apple store...

The mac mini was online for $519 for the homeschoolers discount, and the day I went in, they had up'ed the price to $579. I told the sales rep about it, and he said no problem, they'd give it to me for the $519 price since it had only gone up that day.

I figured I'd go ahead and get more memory, but it would take another day to do the upgrade and I-wanted-that-computer-NOW ;)

At first they pulled out a core solo, and when I noticed that it wasn't the duo, the guy went in the back and came out with a new box and said he might have something I would be interested in...

It was a core duo with a 100gig hard drive (instead of the low level 60gigs), and it came with 1gig of memory for $499.

It was a restock, fully reconditioned and with the 1 year warrenty. The person who returned it bought an iMac instead.

I was good with that :)

every mac we've owned recently has been bought on ebay! LOL... we had a G4 400mhz when we first got married... we sold it on ebay for like $400 and bought an eMac... it was actually a good little machine..lasted us a good while...then they came out with the intel line and my jaw dropped and we (see I) really wanted one. So we sold the eMac on ebay for $50 more than we bought it for, and we now have our iMac... and we're QUITE happy...

Selling up is the best way to do it - that way you stay current with technology and the money just keeps reinvesting itself.

Us...on the other hand...never get around to it, and by the time we NEED to upgrade our computers are worthless ;)

There's no way I'd ship a 333 revB iMAC at this point. Or the 233 revA that's sitting next to it for that matter LOL!

Trust me... that eMac was a MONSTER to ship...and wrap for that matter! I'd really like a macbook... I REALLY want a video iPod... DW was so kind to get me a nano! I use it to work out with! Ain't she the greatest?!?!

Good morning all on this Good Saturday. woke up at 7:55 a.m. (FAR cry from the 4:50 like I normally do!) I plan on trying a different work out plan today (one for the xbox, called Yourself Fitness). It's a full on exercise program with a virtual trainer. Here's the breakdown of the program from their site:

The content of the program is dynamic and fully interactive:
over 500 exercises
a complete fitness analysis
personalized goal setting
customized meal planner with over 4500 recipes
a fitness commitment calendar
six workout environments
multiple music options
over 200 health and fitness tips from Prevention Magazine
a responsive trainer who adapts to how you feel on any given day and provides encouragement on those days where you are feeling unmotivated.

Yesterday was dismal for eating for me... not a good day at all!!!! Total calorie intake was 1863!!!! I know I wasn't supposed to weigh in until Sunday or Monday, but.... I hopped on this morning and I've GAINED a pound... This is the first week that I've exercised every morning consistently...put my all into it. Granted, the scale says I've dropped 5% Body Fat which means that I've added a bunch of muscle weight (I would suppose) but... I think it's a psycological thing. It's drivin me nuts. I'm trying so hard. I want to lose the weight SO badly and it doesn't seem to be budging! My wife has a Good announcement to make about her progress and i'm sure she will shortly, just... I don't know...I'm feeling a little discouraged this morning. I know I should be extremely excited about the 5%... I just don't... ARGH I frustrate myself sometimes.

For breakfast, I had:
2 egg whites - 34 calories
1 Banana - 105 calories
1 cup 1% milk - 103 calories
1 cup All Bran Yogurt Bites cereal - 190 calories

So...I've started today with 432 calories. We'll see how the day goes. I'm just...yeah.... blah!

Ever know someone that just has all the luck? Meet my friend! LOL

HaHaHa...I know a few of those who always catdh all the breaks and I seem to always be laggin behind and struggling and always having to dish out more nad more money, LOL

Hope you and your fam have a great day

Okay..so I did the work out on the xbox...

I'm sorry...but it just got done kicking MY ASS!!!!!

I'm sorry but I just am not feelin it today! My wife is encouraging me and it's helping..even if it doesn't show... I stopped in the middle of the work out for a few moments... it was terrible.. I couldn't keep up... It was killing me! It was working muscles I remembered that I had years ago! lol... I had to decrease the difficulty because I just couldn't push that hard...had to lower the times to 15 minutes on the days that the program suggested (I had upped them to 60 minutes before enduring an actual work out session with "Maya" (the virtual trainer)... Wow I'm not in a good mood... sucks..oh well... It said I only did 176 calories...for a half an hour...I don't get it... I normally do 200 calories alone on the gazelle! Not sure if I should go back to my old regiment or stick with this and increase as I go along... I need a shower!

SS,
I checked out the Yourself Fitness website, and it looks very interesting. I wish I could do it... Maybe I'll try it out one day. Anyway, don't beat yourself up, just keep doing your best. That extra lb could be water weight or weight from food. I doubt its muscle weight because the body doesn't gain that much muscle that fast. I really doubt its fat too, since you said you lost 5% of fat. Do exercises as long and as hard as you can. If you get extraordinarily tired just rest for a few minutes and get back on the horse. Anyway, have a good weekend, keep thinking positive, stay strong!!!

So my day is going much better than the mornin did. I'm at 1049 calories and We're gonna have dinner soon! I'm gonna try Yourself fitness one more time before I give up on it... Gonna try it on a day I'm not so emotionally charged... it was SO frustrating! But atleast I'm having a better evening! MTM&K has helped me throughout the day... she always knows just what to say!
