SaturdaySaint! Part 3, This time...it's personal!

Can someone help me out here? I've been consistently drowsy for two days... and I'm wondering if that means I'm not getting enough calories to balance it out? My physical exertion has increased extremely and I'm just so drowsy...I'm falling HARD right now...it's terrible!

You are doing really well.

It is good that you have a program that takes you to your limits.

It's great that you got through one of the sessions.

Doing more than normal will make you tired, even sleepy. Teachers can get tired and sleepy, just from going back to school after vacation. The first week back from holidays has always like that for me and for others I know. I don't know if you need more calories, but maybe you need a bit more sleep, at least temporarily.

Congratulations on staying in the ring! Keep going!! (Surely that little icon doesn't show the whole story... You are holding your fists up. Right?:D )

Thanks Felici!, I never thought about that..and yet it's so rudimentary. More sleep sounds right up my alley...especially since I must be up at 4:30 instead of 4:45. Thank you for replying.. it means alot... started feeling like I was talking to an empty room... And when it comes to holding my fists up..here's the bigger version of my avatar:

6:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007.

I'm disappointed.
Frustrated.
Determined.
Confused.

This morning's routine was Arm's and Shoulders + Ab Ripper X. With the Arms and shoulders routine, I didn't feel the burn really like they were on the dvd. Probably because the dumbbells I have to use are only 10lbs. I wanted to be sweating up a storm at the end... no dice. I wanted muscle failure...no dice. Do I feel it now that I'm done? A little. But I wanted that part to be extreme... it fell kinda flat and I'm not sure why. Now the Ab Ripper X. COMPLETELY on the opposite end of the spectrum. Talk about killing me. Honestly I feel like a complete and total failure when it comes to the A.R.X. It's only a 15 minute routine that puts you through 349 ab/core reps. I seriously felt like I could only muster 75...if that. Seriously. I do believe that the "Crunches" I've been doing at night really don't amount to anything. I thought I'd be able to get alteast a LITTLE farther than I did. Granted my stomach still isn't flat and I think that contributes alot... but 75? Come on.... that's just not right. That should be a crime. I'm doing my absolute best... but I don't feel like it's really all that good enough this morning. I need to keep my outlook open and fresh. If I don't, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be utterly depressing for me...just because of those damned 15 minutes.

I'm about to hop on the scale to see how if there's a change. I started this at 195. I had dipped to 194 for like a day and it went back up to 198/195. Which..again is irritating since i've been on this plateau for a while. It's funny how such a nice sounding word can be very upsetting to so many people...

Okay. I'm still at 195...which isn't bad... I wasn't expecting a drop yet. I'm glad there isn't a gain. I'll reweigh after my shower. Just isn't starting out as a really great morning... more later!

I hear ya Cinder. I've been trying to up my protein during the days... get my energy up. Need to get some protein powder. If any of you guys know of some of the more Musclier dudes on here...the ones that have gotten ripped... can you either point them to this thread, pm me with their username so I can PM them for some advice? OOOOR if any of you in here (women included of course :) ) have any advice....PLEASE share the wealth. I know not many people come in here to this diary...so for the ones that do, and talk to alot of people, can you please ask the same questions? I don't want to hijack anyone elses diaries asking questions... sorry for the shameless plug!

Okay...after a little bit of time... a shower, and some discussion with the wife... I don't know why my expectations have been so high. I guess I was just wanting to really be able to do more than just a quarter of the exercises. It really was rough. It seems that all it really is is that I have something more to work towards... be able to finish by the 90 days. Still don't feel all that great right now emotionally... but I'm working through it!

:hug2: aaawww:hug2: You are starting a new routine it iwll be tough and your body needs to adapt no diff than your struggle to get into onderland...you got there didnt ya - give yourself some and you too well to the point you want with this new program:hug2:

P90X routine: Yoga X

I'm drowsy.
Rested.
Feeling Bendy.

SO...today was my first try at Yoga. Now granted I'm not all THAT flexible....but I"m still a tad. It was good...hard at times, but peaceful. I stretched alot. My wrists hurt from all the downward dog poses. I just want to crawl back into bed though... it was so relaxing. I don't want to get up for another two hours or so...but alas I have this wonderful thing called work. Yay for me! I am going to be switching jobs soon...which excites me to the core! I'll givemore updates on that aspect soon. Did I mention that i"m typing this with my eye's closed? I want to sleep. Is Yoga supposed to do that to you?

Yoga is very relaxing...and the more you do it the more flexable you become - I really miss doing yoga - I need to fit it in somewhere...

Im excited about your new job as well - I cant beleive it is finally gettin closer to you obtaining it

Wow! This P90X programme has a lot in it! Now yoga!!

I reckon it's good for you to be doing something that makes you relaxed as well. This is all sounding very good!!

I hope your day is going well after your different kind of start. :)

6:13 a.m. Thursday.
Leg and Arms + Ab Ripper X

I feel great.
I feel accomplished.
I have Strength and vigor!

This morning was great. Well..let me start with last night. I had a meeting with two people and there's a strong chance that I will be starting a new job VERY soon. MTM&K (for those of you who remember her), she was busy setting up a back yard pool while I was in a meeting (Yes I know she's 8 months pregnant and should be on her feet... but she was determined and it didn't take her long). Anyway...after a dip in teh pool last night... I felt very relaxed. Jump to this morning. I had to do legs and shoulders this morning..plus ab ripper x. The legs and shoulders bit was awesome. I didn't realize just how strong my legs actually have become. THe shoulders part mostly required a pull up bar..which I don't have. So I as doing make shift pull ups. Using hand waits and pulling down instead of "pressing" if that makes any sense. It was a really good feeling. I'm doing really good this morning, aside from the occaisional drowsiness. Now Ab Ripper X came next. Remember two days ago when I could only do about a quarter..if not less? Well this morning I was able to do close to 3 quarters. I did every exercise this time without skipping like i did earlier this week... just couldn't finish a few of them like I had earlier. I definitly see the change happening. I've already lost another inch on my waist and as of yesterday, a pound and a half. I'm about to get on the scales now and see where I'm at! I'll post later with the results!!!
