sarah's journey to fitness and wellbeing starts here :)

so ive still been cycling 10 miles a day, i started a jogging podcast thingy i found linked on here and wqell i stepped on the scales recently and apparently im 70kg?? thats tiny i thought. it doesnt add up but ive been on two sets of good scale (jim and doctors) and they are similar, yet i still have a big stomach and chunky legs??
thought 70kg is tiny. what is a good healthy weight for a girl about 5 foot 7?

but yeah eating is going well, lots and lots of veggies and fruit as always. moved house a few weeks back and my flatmates are just starting to get their heads around veganism. :rotflmao:

so today the clocks went back or forwards or whatever they do. but i got an extra hour in bed so its all good :)

no excercise today its wet and cold outside and im having a day to myself. but have eaten well, had a nice big salad for breakfast and a few plums gonna have a nice dinner, mixed fresh veg with brown rice, mmmmm

it used to be the same time -this year something different was tried... the spring ahead was two weeks or so earleir and fall was coming later... made all sorts of problems for computer equipment and having to do upgrades to operating systems :)

so another week on been doing alright but been letting in to the sugar cravings a bit. but the first itme in months ive been a bit slack so i dont mind. gim scales had me down as 67kg today, this cant be right!!! i still feel like i have a lot of weight to loose yet i thought 67kg was going to be nice and slim, and healthy for my height? i still have a big belly and large muffin top with chunky thighs. mmmm

Hi Sarah

You posted this in Dan's diary for me. Thanks for your words of encouragement.

woah thats some serious weight loss!! your at a similar weight that i was at 6 months ago, and since then im down to about 150. so your on the home stretch! your in the hundreds, keep going gal :)

I have read your diary. You are doing very well. :hurray: It must be very difficult with your Asthma. It sounds like you had a wonderful holiday - and jungle walking sounds such fun.

It sounds like the uni gym is really good too. What are you studying?

Is your cholesterol ok now? Make sure that you eat plenty of baked beans!

I should explain. My husband is a cuddly chap - a bit like I was - he is over 25 stones now. Anyway a few years ago - his slim, very fit brother turned up in an absolute panic. He had had some tests done and been told that his cholesterol was dangerously high and he was put on medication and given a diet to follow. Their father died young of a heart attack and his doctor had decided looking at Steve's results that they had inherited high cholesterol from their father. He told us to go to the doctors the next morning which we did and get our cholesterol tested.

A couple of month's earlier we had read that baked beans were really good for cholesterol. Basically - if you could force yourself to eat 3 big tins of baked beans a week for a while it would be the human equivalent of how you can rebore a car engine. It would basically clean out the pipes.

Anyway we had been trying to eat more baked beans and had sometimes managed the 3 tins each magic number.

When we got the tests back the doctor was stunned. Our cholesterol levels were both normal - although my husband's was the high end of normal. Naturally he told us that we needed to lose weight - but my husbands cholesterol level was ok while his brother's wasn't.

Take care
Love
Margaret

haha excellent news about the beans, i do love baked beans <3 but i hate the salty normal ones and i cant find the low salt ones in london anymore? are they still on sale? cos eating 3 tins a week does boost your salt intake up a fair bit...and salt is baaaad.

so your cholesterol is ok now? my doctor said she wont bother checking it yet as ive lost so much weight and have been excercising, and apparently when it was 5.7 its not really so high. ill have it checked in the new year as reassurance i guess. it just goes to show what with your husband and his brother, that sometimes its the 'luck' of the draw - my mum starting having chest pains a few months back and panicked big time cos shes 43 and thats around the time both her parents died, she kept going to the doctor and he did a blood test and her cholesterol was 4.something which is good. she smokes, drinks, and eats meat. doesnt excercise a lot appart from moving around at work and walking to and from work. my stepmum, who is indian, overweight and doesnt walk much, she eats quite fattening foods often and her cholesterol is in the 3's!! food for thought...

the last week ive been useless cos ive got the same chest infection from over 6 weeks ago and even the strongest amoxycillin hasnt worked. back to the doctor on thurdsay, 6 week chest infection carnt be so good. not a lot of excercise becuase its very very cold and i cant handle going outside like this, even with 4-5 layers on each body part. been doing some yoga though, and of course cylcing into uni and back.

lots of stress, driving test inna few weeks, got coursework deadlines, my computer got a virus then i had to format it :svengo: but ill rise above it, i worked today at uni and there was this buffet for lunch, so being vegan i was like hmmm there will be nothing but they had like a biblical sized fruit buffet!! no one else was eating it, my supervisors all told me to take some, so i packed a good bag full of it, so now im surrounded by all types of fruit and man im looking forward to a fruit salad tomorrow :)

Hi Sarah!

That's so nice to hear that you lost so much weight and have better health! Are we ever going to see some pictures? :D have a great day!

bbaaacckkkk!

and doing well :) been going to the jim alot (not in the last 2 weeks though due to illnes and SAD) and had a routine made for me by one of the trainers there, even after 2 weeks i could feel the difference! have been eating quite well too although it was my birthday last month and i started drinking again :angelsad2: but ive got the drinking out of my system again now, fresh minded and ready for final exams at uni!

i guess oneday ill put some pics up, i dont really have any of when i was younger and bigger, i sure there is one around somewhere. there are however pleanty of smaller pics of me in the internet though ;)

veganism is going great, i love it, been 9 months now and not looking back.

asthma is getting better, pretty much non existant when im not around my allergens but its taken a step for the worse when i am around allergens...which isnt too good as i have to move back to my mums in 2 months when uni finishes and that house makes me very ill :( but ive been put on the brown inhaler and also still have the blue so hopefully it will settle soon :nopity:

anyways enuff about me, hope your all okay !
