Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

I don't think I'm cooler than you, lol... Your way cooler than me :coolgleamA:

Pshaw, you flatterer!

I've honestly never been in love, so it would be amazing to finally feel that for another person like that.....Having someone who is on the same page as me though, and we are a "team" you know, getting through life together, I just think would be so beneficial...

I've been in love many times, and very rarely did I feel as if my partner was on the same page as me. But you may get very very lucky! :D Lots of people on this forum are! :hurray: Being in love is the greatest high in the world....uh huh huh but it can produce some of the greatest lows you ever felt. Depends on the situation and person. However, by all means, don't be scared to love and possibly lose. The whole "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" is true--during a breakup it's bullshit :D But in retrospect, definitely true :)

It's been an interesting week. Very high stress and anxiety for mostly no reason. I get too into my head and start getting into the "what ifs" that haven't even happened yet, or probably won't even happen... So annoying. I gotta give myself a break otherwise I'm going to go insane:willy_nilly:... Life is life, and I need to take everything one day at a time. Sometimes there are some things you just can't plan for or control...

I am the exact same way! Hi Sam! :seeya:

Thanks Val :)

BTW, what did you go to school for? What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking :)?

I plan on digging out my old Nursing Math stuff this weekend and bringing it into work with me next week so I can start refreshing myself on the stuff. I don't remember it being too hard but I honestly don't remember that much of it...

-Sam
I'm scared to ask...but what is nursing math? I've considered returning to school to gain new job skills and nursing is one field I have considered...but honestly, I haven't been to school in so many years (and school was easy for me way back when so I never learned good study skills....) that it scares me!

We shall see if my skin is thick enough. It's one thing I worry about a little bit. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it goes. I've never worked in a hospital but I like helping people and I've always been fascinated by the medical field. It all scares me a little bit but I have to try it out. I will kick myself if I don't, ya know.

So true, you have to follow your passion and at least check it out. You'll be fine! The nurse I was training with told me that in time I would get used to it all (the dying part). I'll spare you the scary stories as I don't want to freak you out. You should be good at this though, you have a really good way with people, I can already tell. :sifone:

It would have only taken me seeing one McDreamy, and I would still be there nursing! lol

Hello Sam and happy monday! Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Hope you had a great weekend!

How soon before back to school time?

Hello ladies :)

Man o man... What.... a whirlwind last week was... Proud to report that I am doing o so much better today and this week. I dug out my Nursing math shit and plan to begin studying this week at work because I have mondo overtime... Figure I can start what I've needed to start for awhile now ;)

Last week's stress did do some nice things to my weight... I tried on some jeans that hadn't been fitting and now they do, so woo hoo... Plan on a run tonite after work, and I need it for sure.

Thanks for the encouraging words you guys... You are all so great. I definitely have been a lot more "basket-casey" than normal lately, and I love you all for talking me down and getting me through it. Today's a good day :)

Hey, Sam. Your ticker says 63 miles run. That's great! When did you start that and when are you hoping to get the 100 miles done by?

Oh, Trops...

I can't exactly remember when I started it. My mileage definitely isn't what it used to be when I first started out. I want to get the 100 miles done ASAP. This week I'm making it my goal to get in a good 15 miles or so. Totally doable, and i think I need it. I threw a new October running mix on my ipod this weekend, so now I just need to use it.

-Sam

It's just a mix of songs I've downloaded off the internet. Not any particular "mix", just a mix I created. I have to switch up my music every so often as to not get burnt out on the same tunes. This mix has some techno and electronic stuff...

Gotcha! I have a "tough girls" mix that I made when I was splitting from my ex husband... and added a few new songs along the way when boyfriends turned to exes lol... those songs STILL give me great motivation cuz I can just picture their stupid faces when we meet up again someday and they realized what they gave up! ;)

let me guess...
Alot of Alanis Morrisette (sp?), and Meridith Brooks?

I find that the good songs have some kind of "running" in the lyrics. Iron Man by Sabbath (Heavy boots of lead;Fills his victims full of dread; Running as fast as they can; Iron man lives again!) Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf (Get your motor running) Walkie Talkie Man by Steriogram (He’s fat and he don’t run too fast, but he’s faster than me. Last night at the show we saw him going out of his tree.) Stuff like that really gets me going when I'm running.

I can usually listen to whatever but lately when I run I like stuff that has a good beat and I can zone out in. Lately it's been a lot of Electronic and Technoish stuff, trance type stuff.... and of course some great 80's stuff too :biggrinjester:

When I first started running, I recall Pink's 'Just Like a Pill' to have given me a swift kick of motivation. The lyric "...So I'll run, just as fast as I can to the middle of nowhere...", for some reason those words always made me run harder and faster.

Truth be told, I miss working out as much as I use to, but I'm SO worn out from working graveyard shift six days in a row.

I'm glad I was able to drop by your journal, Sammy. I was just talking about you to some friends and felt a huge pang of 'miss', so I *had* to make time to come on here and see how you are doing!

Not only am I proud of you for running again, I'm a bit envious too, honey. I use to pull out 100 miles every month. I would tread out about 25+ a week. I recall my conditioning being much better than it currently is. I haven't pounded out my Nikes since May, and I miss it like a childhood friend.

Being the irritable force that he is, my brother buried my treadmill under alot of storage and when my two days off come, I just *don't* want to deal with unburying it, even though it would have its benefits.

Who knows, maybe now that basketball season is creeping up, I'll try to get down there and situate my workout room!

You've no idea how awesome it feels to be posting in your journal again, Sammy. You're honestly one of my fav people in the world. You're just so likeable, honey!! (((Big Hugs)))
