Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Hey Sam! Good job on the running! All this running ya'll are doing is starting to inspire me... I think, no wait, I AM going for a walk/jog tonight before soccer practice! I've never heard of Riches... good thing probably, I don't need to know of any new "bad" food lol... Have a great day! :seeya:

Thanks Paula :)

Ya, Riches is in Holladay and Sandy here... So it would be a bit of a drive for you to come down just for a bagel, hehe... But, hell with that new Legacy Highway things are a lot smoother for the commutes up that way then they have been in a long time. I took it up to South Ogden a couple weekends ago and it was so nice to have a commute up there that was under 1.5 hours and I didn't want to kill someone after, lol...

Hey there :)

That's kinda the way I think about carbs too, it would be best to eat them in the morning or at lunch... But, half the time I really just think about the calories in calories out way of things and just try to focus on my daily calories and daily protein grams... I should really track my carbs more but I don't think they are too excessive, at least that often. I made sure I got lean proteins and veggies at the grocery store last night, so I can start eating it for dinner at night.

Last night I ran just over 2 miles again, and then did the elliptical for awhile. I bet I could be back up to 4-5 milers on the treadmill again by the end of the month, if I kept up the regular runs. Each time I go to the gym I try to run a little bit more than I did the last time. I did some core work at the gym last night as well but not a lot. I need to focus on making sure that my strength training exercises are long and strenuous enough that they actually make a difference, like the ones I used to have with my trainer...

-Sam

Wow, what an inspiration you are! ;)

Fantabulous job! (yes that's a word.) :biggrinjester:

I agree as well re: the carbs.

Keep up the gr8 work!

:hug2:

I love core work.

Lots of Yoga poses work your core and keep you twisted at the same time--I now have a four pack, but the bottom 2 don't show up as well because my belly likes to put fat there before putting up up by my ribs--still, the 4 pack is NICE and shows up when I'm (trying to) belly dancing :D

Thanks for being so smart and funny and sweet around here ;)

YAY Sam!!! Way to go work it at the gym!!! I personally can't stand running at the gym....and when I do it is interval training. I so much prefer outdoors, because for some reason OUTSIDE I can run, and Inside....I can't the mind over matter doesn't work in there! I love the fresh air outside.....GOOD FOR YOU, and the end of the month sounds good for 5 miles! You can DO IT!!! ;)

:iagree: Sam you are amazing for being able to run on a treadmill--I feel like a cranky hamster whenever I tried that--ugh and it's so HOT too....bleh!!!!

I'm a big people watcher when I run on the treadmill, and if I got my tunes blaring, that is all I need. I cover the time with a towel, it helps a lot... My allergies had just gotten so bad this summer it was pretty hard to run outside. I've been wanting to run outdoors again but I usually just end up doing it at the gym. We'll see how this weekend is, it's supposed to drop into the 60's Sat and Sun and be rainy :( Oh well....

I figured out my Halloween costume and purchased it online. I'm a 50's nerdy prom king, lol... I'm a bit concerned because I found this costume on Ebay, and it's the ONLY one i could find anywhere of this one but, I had to order a medium... Which means the blazer is going to be a 40-42 and last time I checked I was like a 41 or 42 chest... We shall see I guess. It's probably just more motivation for me to get to the gym, lol... I'm excited for it though, I haven't dressed up for Halloween in a few years and I decided to end that tradition this year, hehe...

-Sam

Having a tight blazer might actually go well with the costume. If it isn't too tight, you might move the buttons to make it extra snug, if you are any good at sewing.

I'm not too good at sewing, but I could learn. If the blazer is absolutely too small, I will go hunting for a vintage one on Ebay or at the thrift store or something. I have to buy some pants to go with it but I'm going to wait for a few weeks to do that. I have to get short pants so my white socks show with my black shoes, so I look extra dorky :biggrinjester: I'm just excited to have a costume this early in the month. Last year I was such a lame-o and just wore a pair of generic scrubs to a Halloween party, while these other people had way more exciting costumes. I'm really excited for Halloween this year because it falls on a Friday and I usually have Fri/Sat/Sun off nowadays...

I love dressing up for Halloween. I really get into it, and now that I have kids I have an excuse. I do need a new costume, though. I splurged a couple years ago and bought an awesome ghost costume. Flowing robes with gauze cloth all over it, and a black mask so that you can't see my face or even any features at all. Pretty cool. They shut down Main Street, here, and the kids go trick or treating at all the businesses. It was strange walking into the bank with a mask on. "Hmm. am I going to get shot or something?"

I think it's time for a new one, though. Still haven't found one that works. My rule is that it should be something scary, but not too scary for the little kids. No blood and guts and such. Any ideas?

I had a costume a couple years back that looked like a man with a severed head and the head he was holding was mine... It was a cool costume but HIGHLY uncomfortable due to the pvc pipe that had to be tied to my back... Plus with the costume on I was easily over 7 feet tall...

This year there have been some pretty awesome Joker and Batman costumes I've seen online from "The Dark Knight"... It's a tough draw when your trying to still be scary but not too scary... One year my mom dressed up as this voodoo-cannibal priestess type thing (she made and designed her own costume)... She had a rubber chicken with blood all over it hanging out of her mouth and a crazy black wig, etc... She looked awesome, but she was scaring the LIVING SHIT out of every kid who came to the door, so she finally had to calm it down a little bit... Good Halloween memory though, lol...

-Sam

I was thinking about the severed head thing. Thinking that I'm on the short side it wouldn't be too bad.

I was also thinking about getting a really good pirate costume. You know, something to wear out on occasions other then Halloween. :biggrinjester:

Kudos to you for kicking ass at the gym!

I love Halloween, and I really hope we can get moved into our condo in time to throw a Halloween party..lol. I love dressing up. I once won first prize for dressing up as Pat from SNL. The likeness was uncanny (and I did her voice almost to perfection..lmao).

Thanks Paula :)

Hey Sam, I haven't had a chance to try the Legacy Highway yet... Maybe We'll have to make a date to meet at Riches one of these times and try it out! ;) Hope you have a great night! :seeya:

After seeing you guys talk about halloween costumes, makes me wish I had somewhere to wear one, lol. Halloween's one of my fav holidays but I haven't had any excuse to dress up for it in a while... plus I've usually had to work. It falls on one of my days off this year so at the very least I'm going to pass out candy in my new house :D I remember my funnest year ever though was working at a haunted house put on by the 20/40 club when I still lived in cali. I scared the heck out of so many people :)

Hey guys :)

I decided to take the early extra short shift this morning at work... Plus, 5 hours of OT sounds good to me :) I didn't get much sleep last night though because I had to wake up so early and didn't get to bed until pretty late because of my natural sleeping patterns. I was expecting this, so I'm going to take a nap when I get off here at about noon...

Halloween I'm super stoked about this year. It is actually for sure one of the holidays I have off this year, so I'm happy about that. I already know I will be working Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day this year.

Kimberly, that is too funny about your Pat costume, lol... Thats awesome you could you do the crazy voice to go with it! lol... For years my friends have wanted me to dress up as Dr. Frankfurter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show and every year I've declined... I might do it some year when I could actually pull the costume off, lol... It's pretty ambitious and i don't think I would feel too comfortable in it yet...

Hey Lisa. I hope you do dress up this year :) I'm not exactly sure where I will be wearing mine either but I'm determined to have plans that night. I know I have a kegger to go at the end of Oct. that will probably be a Halloween Kegger...

So, got to the gym last night and did 3 miles on the treadmill, and then did the Crosstrainer for 20 minutes on high :D Felt pretty good about it afterwards. Got home, did some laundry had a protein shake and watched "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and eventually went to bed... Tonite I've been invited to go to a haunted house with some of my friends....:pumpkin::pumpkin::pumpkin:
