Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Mmmm... hummus. I tried a delicious red pepper hummus a couple of weeks ago. AMAZING.

Good luck with your 5 miles tonight! I'm heading out for a run shortly, but it won't be 5 miles. haha.

hey all :)

I took last night off from the gym... and it felt nice. So, that means tonite I'm going and I'm going to try and push to do 5 miles... it'll happen :) I just remember a couple weeks ago when I ran 5 miles one day and then almost 5 the next and my body was like "fuck you for doing that to me".... hehe

Hummus, I've made a couple of times. It's basically ground up garbanzo beans, then you can flavor it with whatever you really like. When I made it I used some tahini, garlic, and vegetable stock. The stuff I've been eating lately though is from the store... My favorite bagel place has this amazing hummus that has sundried tomatoes and sesame seeds in it...

So, I made some plans this weekend with some friends... I guess I have dinner and gay bingo on Friday night, and then karokee with my other friends on Saturday night... I'm glad today is my Friday because work has been pretty boring this week...

-Sam
WOO HOO sounds like a fun weekend planned!!! TODAY is my FRIDAY too.....Ahhhhhhhhh....I love it!!! The day becomes more beautiful as the END approaches...:beating:.....Way to go on getting those workouts in!!!

....I love hummus, and I used to be addicted to Sundried tomatoes....now...I always forget to pick them up, but I bet they taste amazing in humus!!! Hmmm....food for thought!

Hummus is faantastic. I get "hummus phases" where I live off the stuff for weeks and then I forget about it for a while. But I've never made it, that would be fun. And yummy.

Hope you had fun this weekend. Bingo halls are ridiculous here, but GAY bingo? How fun! I would definately want to be a fly on the wall there too. I'll saddle up right beside MissJellyBelly :)

I wish I could find myself addicted to something healthy for me. :D All of my food addictions are shit like chocolate chip cookies, Taco Bell and the like.

Hey all :)

So, did alright this weekend. Not too bad. Probably could have got to the gym more... oh well though. Ran on Saturday and I now have a couple of blisters. I don't think it's my shoes. I just think it's the shape of my feet, etc... I didn't run yesterday and I'm thinking about going and doing some elliptical and core tonite... start the week off right...

I went to karokee at Paper Moon (lesbian bar) and Monks this weekend... I don't sing but my friend sounded great both times. Meet some interesting peeps both nights. I didn't go to Gay Bingo night... My friend who was organizing going with us kind of flaked out. So I went and had authentic delicious Indian Food that night with an old friend instead.

Not too shabby of a weekend. Wasn't as productive as I hoped to be. I really wanted to clean up my house and list some stuff on Ebay, etc... I didn't though, so now it's my goal this week to get all that done plus some other stuff.

Happy Monday,
Sam

Happy Monday Sam!! Looks like you had a nice weekend. Way to get some exercise in... I too am wanting to start the week off right, but I haven't decided what will be "right" thing... possibly a workout or even a delicious healthy meal!! Who knows!!

I hope you have a great week, and keep it up!

It was a decent weekend. I was supposed to meeting someone on Saturday night but of course he flaked out, lol... It's so crazy that once you start putting yourself out there more and actually making an effort, you learn how flakey the other people really can be... Didn't ruin my weekend at all, or even really phase me...

Everyone around me seems like they are getting sick with something... I currently feel fine and I hope it stays that way.

-Sam

Good deal, stay healthy, and don't give up--glad you weren't bummed and self-effacing due to the flake. I like hearing MY Sammy boy is happy and healthy :D

Hey ya'll

Went for a nice 3 mile run at the gym last night. I do have a blister on my toe that keeps bleeding though, so I might not run for a few days or tape my toe... not quite sure yet. If I don't run though, I will still do the elliptical... and I need to train my legs for sure.

Food was excellent yesterday. I had a protein shake when I got home from the gym. Not too exciting but, hell it was my night. I had a bagel for breakfast, with hummus and tomatoes... I brought a turkey sandwich for lunch, so we will see how that goes.

-Sam

That all sounds fabulous, darhling. :D

I injured my foot by bruising it while I was at the waterfall Sunday. I forgot to mention that in my diary, so I've been doing yoga instead of running--and tonight I'm gonna belly dance. Jealous?? :D Just kidding!

I posted the video of my friend's Jello fight--you gotta check it out!

Hey there Val,

I will totally watch that video fo sheezy. It's just that my work has blocked Youtube again:rolleyes:... I want to see it though, it's been ages since I've seen any Jello wrestling :)

The running just needs a little break I think. Tonight I'm going to hit the grocery store and probably just go home and take it easy. It seems as though everyone around me has got this sore throat shit and I don't want to get it, so I might avoid the gym for a minute... Plus, I now have a 9am appointment with a Neurologist tomorrow that I have to be 20 minutes early for to fill out all the paperwork. I hate switching doctors. After the appt, I then have to go to my old one and get my medical records from him shipped over to my new one.... Just so I can keep getting refills on my anticonvulsant, lol...

BTW, I am completely jealous of your belly dancing classes ;)

It's nothing really. I had a seizure almost 5 years ago out of nowhere and had a bunch of tests done and everything... They couldn't find anything wrong with me. I guess sometimes people just get seizures and it's unexplainable. I'm not epileptic, according to the doctors, and I've only had two big seizures while i'm awake. As long as I stay on meds (very low dose) I'm just fine and dandy... It's funny though, both my seizures have been at work, so I wonder if that is telling me something. Work gives me seizures so I better not work, lol... :) They are just super painful and I'm usually pretty sore for the next few days... not to mention they scare the shit out of me and those around me... and I usually get a concussion. I've been seizure free for almost two years now, so I'm optimistic :)

-Sam

That IS scary!!!! :(

Well shit!

Last night we did Nadi Sodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing),a pranayama technique, and the teacher claimes that it improves the left and right brain communication across the corpus callosum. I know some seizures have to do with out of control nerve firing across that membrane........thinking of seizures made me think of that. Anyway, breathing is how we get 70% of our toxins out of our bodies and is the single most important thing we do! I highly recommend breathing techniques to de-stress yourself......I bet they teach that in nursing....I hope!

I definitely think I need to start some breathing techniques and meditating. I'd much rather go the natural route in dealing with anxiety and stress. I know everyone has stress but, I think I really let it get to me when I don't have to. I tend to stress out about stuff that hasn't even happened yet, or might not even happen... Day by day. We all have our issues I guess....
