Will you get paid overtime for the hours over 40? That's always a good incentive to work a lot, IMO. Have fun doing cardio!
 
I love that show Intervention. I'd plan my day around it too if I were you. I can't get my lazy ass up to work out in the morning either, especially after working as much as you've been. I don't think I could do anything work out wise early unless I absolutely had to. Good luck on your run tonight
 
I do get paid overtime for working over 40 hrs... It's good incentive I guess. I'm just way used to working overtime so the whole "big paycheck" excitement has worn off a little bit i guess, lol... I'm used to working a lot, so when I'm not working I feel like I should be at work... Its funny.

My brother isn't answering my phone calls and I'm worried about him for some reason. I have this knot in my stomach as if something is wrong... I'm sure I'm just being crazy. I'm such a worry wart for no reason most of the time. hehe

Brother thing turned out to be okay. He just had his phone on silent for no reason... For some reason it scared the hell outta me and I was worried about nothing.

I made it to the gym yesterday!!! I did 42 minutes of cardio. I started with 25 minutes on the crosstrainer with it cranked up pretty high so I could feel the burn, then I ran a little over a mile and a half on the treadmill in 15 minutes. I was going to make myself do some weights beforehand but I figured getting to the gym and just doing cardio was a feat within itself for me lately, so that's all I ended up doing.

I'm going to try really really hard to get back there again tonite. The cardio definitely improved my mood for the better last night. My brother grilled some chicken breast and salmon burgers, so I had one of each for dinner last night and now have some leftovers for lunch today and probably tomorrow.

Pretty sleepy here this morning sitting at my desk. I stayed up too late last night, and then took some tylenol pm to help me sleep (I've been doing that a lot lately). It made me want to sleep longer than I could this morning, which is never good.

I was just kinda flipping through your diary and thought I would say hi. Congrats on getting into Nursing school and good luck with orientation. I'm sure your nerves are just from excitement!

There was a night a couple of years ago that I could not for the life of me get ahold of my boyfriend. I had the worst feeling about it, and I even left a voicemail saying that I was worried. Well, he called when I had fallen asleep and said that he had been in a really bad accident with a motorcycle, and that his car was totaled, but he and the motorcyclist were okay.

What they say about having a gut feeling is often times right, I suppose. I'm glad it wasn't in your case though!

So, I planned out my meals and cals today (Ive already eaten breakfast and lunch) so that I'm at about 1930 calories and 121 grams of protein... Want the protein to be a little higher but, I can work on that this week. Yesterday my cals were at 2300 and my protein was about the same. I feel like 2300 is a little bit higher than I'd like... I like to keep my cals under 2000 per day, and try to burn about 500 with the cardio I do... I'm planning on hitting the gym again tonite after I go get a haircut from my friend... I've also been figuring a nice sized glass of red wine into my calories for the past couple of days. Not sure if that is really good or really bad... I don't think it will hurt. I've just been having one to relax after i get home at the end of the day...

So, last night... I probably should say my cals were probably closer to 2000 or 2050 than 1930. I ended up changing what I thought I was going to have for dinner... Plus, I didn't make it to the gym!!! I know I know. By the time I got home from everything I had to do yesterday, I just couldn't muster up the energy to put on my workout clothes and go bust out a workout. Tonite though is a different story. Tonite I will make it to the gym. The schedule I'm working this week is only temporary, so I'm not that mad at myself. I know for sure I will have Friday and Saturday off to get a workout in the mid morning hours (which I like, not too early, not too late)...

Good luck at the gym tonight. I gotta hit the sack early early tonight. I've got to hit the gym tomorrow morning and it's so damned hot right now that I'm really sleeping like shit and I'm crazy tired.
 
I just wanted to pop in and say hope you make it to the gym tonight. You can do it. Sounds like you had a great work out the last time you went.
 
So.... I was at Souper Salad last night with the fam and they had these little celery slices for salads... never noticed them before but with all this talk about celery on your thread, I immediately thought of you and smiled. :) Bet you never thought celery slices would make a girl think of ya. Ha ha! Take care....
 
Glad your brother was fine. I sometimes have those moments where I worry that something might be wrong, too. So far I've always been wrong--I'm glad you were, too. :)

I have a bad habit of popping Advil PM to fall asleep. That stuff works, but I can't help but think that it must be bad for me somehow!

I can't believe you work 60 hours a week and still have time for workouts! You are a rockstar!
 
Hey Sammy! Its been a while since I've dropped in. I'm sure you're working your buns off at the gym (like usual). Don't worry about the slip the other day...it happens to the best of us (sometimes more often than I'd like!) Lookin' good!
 
How did the haircut come out? Did you get some highlights too? hehe

I'm trying to get workouts in but truth be told, I can hardly manage it this week with my work schedule the way it is. I sat on my bed last night and fell asleep for like an hour. I didn't even mean to. It so funny, whenever I want to go to sleep I can't and whenever I don't want to sleep I am always tired and have no trouble.... wtf. I did take some tylenol pm last night. I've always dealt with insomnia I guess. I actually used to use mj to help me with my sleeping problems among other things... I don't do that anymore though, so now I have to use the tylenol pm frequently, or sometimes a glass of wine at the end of the day really helps me decompress, imo....

Yesterday was about 2000 calories, so no worries. I wish I could be more firm with the gym this week but work is really out of control. It scares me because I know going into Nursing school and still working full time is going to be a challenge within itself, and I hope to still be able to find some time to workout in it. I'm sure I will be able to if I work hard enough.

Anytime anyone thinks of celery in their salad and thinks of me, I guess I consider my job done :)

Glad I was wrong about my bro the other day. He just has some issues right now and my mind was going to the worst places possible, probably. He is ok and that's all that matters :)

No new highlights in my hair as of now. Maybe next time. Not sure what I would even put in my hair atm...

If you were a pediatric nurse -the kids would appreciate th color - if you were a nurse in a cancer ward - they'd appreciate the solidarity :D
