Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

25 was pretty hard for me too. Something about being a quarter century.... you'll get used to it. I think its great that you bought yourself such fitness focused gifts. Hard to grow up but the gifts do sometimes get better. :) I had one of those "dang, when did we all get so old" moments this New Years. I loved the party, simple - dinner, munchies, wine & keg, games in the living room, a couple of guys playing guitars outside. Mostly couples so no real flirting action.. just mellow enjoying being around each other. I would have been so bored a couple of years back that I would have left for the nearest bar as soon as possible! Funny how we grow. Glad your birthday went well. Gotta love a good game night!

Good luck with getting it all worked in & working overnight. I think that would drive me nuts.

I just turned 25, and it is a weird feeling. I never hit up the bars anymore. I couldn't stay awake! Lol! I really do live the life of an 80 year old, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I enjoy my peaceful life! :)

Hey everybody:)

Glad we're all in a concensus that 25 is kind of a weird age to turn, lol... It's feeling better though already:)

Made it to the gym today and yesterday. Got some running in both days and today I did the chest and back routine with the trainer. Pretty hard and was tough to get thru today. But I made it and I'm here to tell about it. I still don't want to weigh myself for a little while. I just want some more time of being good and on track to hopefully get the scale to say something nice.

Still doing surprisingly well with my food, at least I think. Once I get going for a few days or a week with tracking my cals I can usually get used to it and stick to what I need to.

Very ugly and bitter cold here in Utah. I hate the rest of the month of Jan. I need to drag my butt to the tanning bed so I can get some sun and maybe be a little bit more chipper. I also got the snow tires put on my car so I'm not sliding all over the place, which is nice and makes me feel safer.

oh the tanning bed sounds awesome right about now. I am a big believer in that we need daylight to feel good... & if it comes from a tanning bed, well I'm loving it! So relaxing. My muscles just sigh in there. :D

Glad you are doing better with being 25 & nice work on getting the gym time in & eating right. You rock!
 
Congrats on the healthy eating and running two days in a row. I couldn't run here because the weather was so bad--tornado watches and heavy rain all day. And the campus fitness center is closed since classes aren't in session, so I had no access to a treadmill. Have a great rest of the week!
 
Hey all...

Made it to the gym this morning. My trainer put me thru a core routine that almost made me sick but, I finished it. yay for me:) Then I ran for a few minutes on the treadmill but my ankles are still scraped up from the shoes I've been running in:banghead::banghead::banghead: so I need to get different socks....

Food has been good today. I have been eating lots of soup lately for lunch, which is actually quite filling and good, and healthy. Last nite I had a crab cake though... I shouldn't have but, my friend was taking me out for my b-day and I didn't want to get salad, so that is what I went with:)

Hey Guys...

So sick, so very very sick. I guess I have some sort of flu that has been going around lately. It is making me miserable. I'm even on some antibiotics but they aren't working as fast as I'd like... I had to cancel both my appts with trainer this week, there is no way I can work out, I can barely get out of bed...

On the plus side, I haven't been really hungry, so I haven't been eating much...

Hope everyone is feeling better than me. We are having record lows for the season here in UT. It is beyond nasty. All I've been doing since Sunday is laying in my warm bed and watching dvds, trying to make myself more comfortable because I feel so uncomfortable. Next year, mark my words, I will be the first in line for a flu shot!!!

Aw man... that stinks. Drink tons of fluids & find someone special to rub your back & bring you soup.

...maybe the fever will help keep you warm in this frozen spell? eh. Just trying to think of the positives. Take care of yourself. :)
 
Thanks Moon. I have been drinking tons of juice, but not eating much.

Good news is, I feel a good deal better today. I think the antibiotics are finally kicking in. I feel about 70% or so. Still kinda stuffy and out of it but much much better than I was. I don't think I'm going to the gym for a few days though still...

I've been working little half days, instead of my normal tens. I'm going to try to do a whole one tomorrow. I think I will do okay.

Something weird... I've been taking lots of vitamins and drinking tons of juice for the past 5 days or so trying to combat this. So today I notice that my hair and my nails have grown a ton in that short amount of time, lol.

Thanks you guys. Your very sweet. Been at work for an hour and a half and feel pretty good. I still feel a little out of it but, I'm doing okay. I wish I could go to the gym but I know my body still probably doesn't want me to. I think my trainer would understand....

Watched a movie last night, called Waitress. I recommend it. I also recommend Juno if no one has already seen it.

Hey all,

Made it to the gym this morning for my appt with trainer.... he said that I look like I have lost more weight and look definitely slimmer, which is always nice to hear. We went thru my core workout and then I did some walking on the treadmill. I still am having a hard time running, even though I am pretty much over the flu I had last weekish. My lungs just need some time I guess.

Plan on going grocery shopping tonite when I get off work. I definitely need some healthy groceries in my fridge. Not too much else to report. Very sad about Heath Ledger, huh? I was a fan, for sure ;) Sad to see him gone.

Hey everybody.

Didn't make it to the gym today... Ya know. The whole bed being warmer than the snow thing, lol... I will get there tomorrow for sure. My core is pretty sore today from all the work I did on it yesterday with PT. I did a core exercise called a plank and had to hold it for a minute, three seperate times. I'm pretty sure that caused some of the stiffness. No pain no gain, right???

My trainer also told me about this crazy guy at our gym. I love my trainer, during our sessions we totally dish and talk mad shit about stuff. Well, this guy he was talking about is really creepy. He comes to the gym in a tee shirt that doesn't even fit over his belly, and wears denim overalls on top of it. I've never really thought too much of him... Well, I guess he was eyeing on of my trainer's clients a little too closely a couple months ago. This client of his happens to be a 12 year old girl, and he was like full on following her around the gym and shit. Really creepy right?

Well my trainer went up to him and basically told him to knock it off or he would have problems. To which this guy responds "You can't tell me what to do, I can do whatever I want!!" Anyways, this guy doesn't show up at the gym for like a month after that, and now he is back, trying to get hugs from all the young pretty girls and shit. So beyond nasty.....

Oh gross... good for your training in speaking up instead of just observing. At least he knows he is being watched. Want to really get creeped out? Check out this website... The really scary thing is, these are just the ones with a record. Ug. I did see a guy I used to live in my neighborhood listed on there. Weird.

I so know the bed being warmer than the way to working out thing... all too well unfortunately. :)
 
Hey all.

Made it to the gym the past two days in a row!!! I had trainer both days, so it was kind of me going because I had to. I want to go tomorrow though, and run.

I did biceps/triceps yesterday and today they hurt pretty bad. It's really hard to completely straighten out my arms. Today I did my leg routine and so I know either tomorrow or Friday it will be hard to walk.

Food hasn't been great but, it could have been worse. I really need to start writing down what I've been eating and keeping track of my calories. It's really the only thing that works, at least IMO. I just think it's such a pain in the ass sometimes. I gotta do it though. I only have about 3 or so months left with my trainer and I don't plan on buying anymore sessions. So, I want to make the most out of the ones I have left and take the last 20-30 lbs off.

I promised myself that I wouldn't go through another summer being uncomfortable with my body. I am a lot more comfortable with my body now then last summer. I still have a waze to go though.
