Sam's from Chunk to Hunk Journal :)

Just watched the latest episode of Intervention on Youtube. It featured a woman named Marie who was a pretty severe alcoholic. Very cathartic for me to see her get help and get sober. I could relate to the guilt trips and the bs Marie was putting her kids thru when she was constantly drunk... It reminded me a lot of my mother back in the day... Just thought I'd mention it as an excellent episode for those of you that are Intervention fans, and I know there are a bunch on here.

Cool. I had no idea they had them on Youtube. I don't have AE right now, so I've been missing it. I'll have to check it out, thanks

Just putting my 2 cents in... I agree about the "you shoulda" people, but in my case its "well what you need to do"... ugh so annoying. My parents are really bad about this and I have tried to explain to them that their way is not the only way. But they don't get it. I think they figure they are older and wiser therefore that makes them right... But as its been mentioned they typically dont have their shit together.... I always take others words with a grain of salt.

Hopefully things workout for you Dad Sam and hopefully you will be a Nurse before any drastic changes are made!

I think I am sometimes guilty of the you should thing. I think I mean it in more of a suggestive way, and not a you must do it my way attitude. Sort of throwing out ideas that they can take or leave. :)

Luckily, my parents are really good about not telling me I should do...lol. My grandma on the other hand...:smilielol5:

I hope that it all works out for your dad and his job. Maybe he should join you in nursing school. :D

Just watched the latest episode of Intervention on Youtube.

I've recently started Tivo'in those shows. They are so hardcore, yet so eye opening about addiction, the things people do, the lies, the reality of it all is so captivating.

It's so hard to watch though, especially when people relapse, and even worse, the ones that end up dead after the show.

I just watched the anorexia one this week. OMG!

Love that show and I watched Maria... That show often takes me back to my first marriage and now I just found out my ex isn't only into alcohol anymore... sad story. Could have been so much if it wasn't for his addictions....

Haven't posted in your thread for a while. I've been trying to keep up with ya though.. sounds like you have some choices to make... take your time hun. Hope you have a great week! :D

Hello all :)

Back at work, back in the grind. Had a pretty productive weekend and cleaned out a lot of shit out of my house and stuff. Felt good. Tried getting to the gym yesterday and it didn't work out as planned. Going to try harder to get there tonite. Need to make it to the grocery store tonight too because I'm pretty much out of food at my house. Not much new to update...

-Sam

I made it the gym last night and it felt wonderful... I've been slacking the past week or so, so to finally get there and tough out a hard workout felt amazing. I need to go again but my gym is closed today due to the fact that it is Utah's Independence Day today... So I plan to get home from work tonite and do some free weights and laundry :)

Diet is going pretty well. I'm currently trying to take in about 2000 or so cals per day... Yesterday my bros decided to crock pot some chicken and veggies with BBQ sauce and surprised me with dinner already cooked when I got home. It was so nice and tasty. I've been bringing food into work and eating smaller amounts throughout the day. I'm way into goat cheese right now but, an oz. a day won't kill me. It's so tasty. I finally bought some psyllium husk so I can add it to my protein shakes and see if it helps anything.. I also bought a new multivitamin at Whole Foods last night. I used to take it about a year ago and quit. It's called Alive, and I think it works pretty well.

I'm so glad you had such a productive gym session! Yay for you! :D

The crock pot chicken sounds amazing!!!

I've been toying with the idea of protein shakes... protein is expensive, and I'd hate to buy it and think the shakes are nasty! I would definitely go for chocolate! Yum! What are these husk things you speak of?

Wow, I haven't been on here as much as I usually am :)

I've been going to the gym pretty regularly the last week or so, lol;) and feel pretty good about that. Diet is still doing alright. I started making my protein shakes and adding psyllium husk to them (Alta), and I must say they do work... :)

I have a family gathering to go to here in about two weeks, so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things so I feel great about how I look when I am there. I also have something at the end of August to attend, and it's my goal by then for sure, to be under 200lbs... I just gotta keep on doing what I'm doing.

My weekend was pretty productive as well. Not only did I get to the gym a couple of times for some pretty good workouts, I also cleaned out my car from top to bottom, went swimming and laid out one afternoon, and I have almost finished the book I'm reading. Go me :)

Hey Sam, just thought I'd say hi and thank you for stopping by my diary. So you hope to lose 10 pounds in the next month(ish) huh? That's a pretty hefty goal, but good luck!

I'm still doing battle in that same weight range....153-157. *sigh* Maybe I need fall to arrive to get me back on track. lol

Hey Sam, just thought I would check in! Looks like you had a productive weekend! You go tough guy!!! I am most positive you will reach your goals and have your family's jaws dropping!!!

Keep it up!!

Hey all :)

I made it to the gym last night for 45 minutes of cardio. Tonite I'm going to go and do 45 min cardio and a core routine... I ate pretty well yesterday, and have eaten alright today. I had a kind of heavy breakfast and lunch, so I'm trying to tone it down with a lighter dinner, etc and probably follow tonite's workout with a protein shake and psyllium husk...

I got my Itunes working on my new laptop, and have some new music to throw on there. I'm excited to do it. I love having a new playlist or two to listen to while i workout.

I decided I'm taking Thursday this week off from work. So, all i have to do is make it thru tomorrow and I'm good, then I will have 4 days off to do whatever the hell I want to :) I can't wait!
