Men don't write long letters, right? Well, I think I need to revise that.... because I think writing a diary here will actually help me a lot. I succeeded in quitting smoking last year and did so by being with like-minded people, by logging my thoughts, by supporting and being supported. So I am happy to BEGIN.
January 2nd and I registered here just this morning. I'm a wee bit overweight.... not much really, but I am determined to get back to a lower weight this year. I'm now about 190 pounds, and my aim is to get back to where I was maybe 10 years ago, around 176-170.
How? Well, I am a very active BIKERr, but I don't always feel motivated to get out on the bike. So, I'm looking forward to changing that. I'm also a MEASURER, so I'll be joining lots of the challenges here and seeing my progress in relation to others. Actually, now that I typed that, I'm not sure how right is is to be measuring my progress in relation to others....... my progress should be measured rather in relation to my personal goals...... i guess, accountability to a group might be a better way of putting it.

My plan is to be here regularly, to post to this diary often, to support others as best I can and to START THE JOURNEY. So, I'm going to take the next few days to clarify my goals and devise ways to meet the challenges.
