Sally's 2013 Journey

A quick version of my story so far...
I'm 35, 5'2" and currently 67.3kg. I live in Australia and I'm a busy mum of 3 girls. They all do dancing and I'm a belly dancer. But I also enjoy my exercise.
I've been dieting on and off since I was 18, through ad eating, pregnancy and miscarriages, but never reaching goal. At my heaviest - post baby #3 now 4yo - I was 85kg, so I've already lost. But I'm still overweight, and needing a little more motivation to finally get to goal.
I get my nutrition, workouts and motivation from an online personal trainer, but had a small break over Christmas. Ongoing health problems have now seen me have to give up caffeine, chocolate, salt, artificial sweeteners, sugar, dairy, junk food and white bread - to my best ability.
I've been back on track with my food since December 29, but just got back into my exercise plan today. I'm hoping to lose at least 10kg, and get a bit of muscle tone as well.
My typical diet is ....
Breakfast: 2 slice wholemeal toast with peanut butter, and a green mint tea with honey
Lunch: 2 slice wholemeal bread with tuna/ham and salad, and a green mint honey tea
Dinner: lean beef/chicken/fish with vegetables or salad
Snacks: fruit/rice crackers/crispbread with philli/unsalted nuts

Today's workout was legs - squats lunges butt lifts step ups

Will try and update as often as possible

Thanks Tasha.
It's by Lipton. It's green tea but mint flavoured, tastes heaps better than just green tea but u still get the health benefits. And I just add some honey to sweeten as I can't seem to use anything else. Look forward to chatting with you :)

I have tried green tea in a bag before but i've been spoilt with the real green tea from China, will try it next time with a bit of honey :)

Had a great day today and feeling well on track.
Managed some HIIT training this morning before the kids woke up again - bonus! I was on and off the treadmill and floor, with running, crunches, side crunches, reverse curls, push ups and a plank to finish.
Was on such a high that I got all my housework done right after breakfast.
Food intake was typical, PB toast for breakfast, with a wrap for lunch, rice crackers for snack and chicken salad for dinner.

Alrighty. Wednesday done. First thing this morning was an arms workout. Started and finished with ex bike, and did a circuit of bicep curls, hammer curls, tricep dips, overhead extensions and kick backs.
Tummy and butt are sore from Monday and Tuesday's workouts. But I'm loving it.
Usual diet of PB toast with green mint honey tea for breaky, and chicken salad philli sandwich for lunch. Went off course a little with a 40g bag of sweet chilli grain waves, and had a lean cuisine chicken risotto for dinner.
Next challenge today is going over to Aunties for a small birthday celebration. I'm only on just over 1000 cals so far, but I'll see what's on offer. And unless they have maybe some mineral water it'll be water for me - no alcohol. Wish me luck.

Thursday's wrap up.
Well I'd decided not to get up and do a workout first thing as I'd planned to go for a walk while the kids rode. But I'd forgotten I'd taken miss 7s training wheels off. So we drove all the bikes to a park and I attempted to help her learn to ride. Got plenty of exercise running along beside her. And got a muscle workout trying to hold her up.
We stopped in the middle and had a picnic lunch of ham sandwiches and lots of water. Then had a play on the swings.
So...
Breaky: PB toast and green mint honey tea
Lunch: ham sandwich
Dinner: (family had fish fillets but not enough so I had) tuna veggies sweet potato wedges
Snacks: yoghurt banana (spoon of nutella but shhh)

Still in control and feeling excellent.

Friday check in.
Up and at em with a chest shoulders back workout this morning. Also had 3 kids watching and picking on me lol. Got me nice and sweaty anyway.

B: PB toast green mint tea
L: tuna philli lettuce between toast
(Have 4 extra kids sleeping over tonight so 7 total!! Pizza was easiest and I caved. Therefor...)
D: 1/8 home cooked pizza 1 garlic bread
S: cashews. Rice crackers. 2 chocolate squares
Though I'm only on about 1300 cals, im usually on 1200 max as this works for my 5'2 height, so This was now my cheat dinner.

Hey, just stopped by to wish you good luck with your weight loss!
I guess it must be really hard with 3 kids.

You are doing great! Keep up the good job! :)

Weekend wrap up.
Stayed mostly on track with my food, though had a couple small family get togethers. So did have a little pick. Went over my 1200 cals but was under 1300 so not too worried.
Only managed a quick 15 min walk over both days too.
Cleaned out my cupboards and drawers and found some things that now fit and threw some things that were just too big and old. So feeling quite cleansed.
Weigh in is tomorrow morning. Wish me luck

Thank you. And yes it is.
Back to legs this morning. Loving it. Food was minimal. Dinner was a BBQ at mums. Had a handful of Doritos and a meringue nest with yoghurt and strawberries. Very yum and didn't go over 1300 cals

Hey you had a good weekend!
Everytime I overate in the past (while on weight loss diet) - I just did some extra exercize!

Good luck with your weigh in!

Ok. Weigh in this morning I'm down 800g to 66.5kg. Not as big a loss as id expected but I'm happy with it. Also means I've lost 3kg in a month which is fantastic.
Back in next post, just got to check my measurements loss.....

.... so 14cm overall lost in a month also.
Have to say I am feeling terrific and love that I'm happy getting exercise done every morning and really keeping an eye on what I'm eating.
Off to do some things with the kiddies, still 2 weeks left of school holidays!

Omg it also means I've finally lost my 5%. took long enough. Next goal is 65.8 - being the lowest I've been since bub #3, and 63kg - my 10%.

Feeling ok today. I picked a bit over the last few days. Mostly out of boredom I think. And today it was just too hot in the house to do the interval running to finish today's workout, but I may still do it later. I also didn't get yesterday's walk in til 9pm - just on dusk - and seem to have strained a tendon or something in behind my knee. I get it quite a bit when I walk, not when I run, but usually goes away once I stop. Not this time. It's pretty tight and sore but I'm using it ok.
Weekend and next weeks menu and workouts planned. Also prepared enough salad veg and portioned out my meat for my lunch rolls for a few days so it's all there ready on hand no excuses. Will cook extra chicken breast tonight and freeze that for dinners and lunches too :)
