Okay here goes

Please, be gentle on the comments. this is skin left from 140lb weight loss.
The tummy has shrunk a lot already - the boobs and arms ive left out (too hard to photograph arms by myself and hold the camera .. and no .. not doing the boobs .. nothing left but skin anyway lol)

This is my upper leg, ive circled the spare skin parts in case you couldnt figure it out. By spare skin i mean its soft, and flaps around when i walk etc unless its trapped into a tight pare of pants. Its kinda annoying when im doing any aerobics.

Thats the stomach, its shrunk a LOT, and its not as wrinkled as it usually is in these pics.

The boobs are just saggy flaps of skin - i was never much in the chest department before i gained weight anyway.
Upper arms arnt to bad - though i do have bat wings.

Please. Be careful how you word your comments. I know that these pics are gross and disgusting. Im doing this because several people have shown curiosity in the after effects.

Thank you so much for sharing those pictures Wishes. They really do give a lot of us who really do want to know what effects weight loss is going to have on our bodies a good insight into it.

Again, thank you, and you have done a tremendous job.

thanks :)

I should probably should mention that im giving it a year before ill re-evaluate and look at surgery.
It can take up to a year or two for it to bounce back.

This plus the pics are exactly the kind of information and real life experience that needs to be around here. Since I know you did this the good and sensible way, could you mention again how long you spent losing the 140 pounds and approximately how much you lost per month for example. I hope we get to see the pics a year from now also.
Thanks for your great attitude and the courage of sharing your whole journey with us! You're just fantastic! :)

Scary!

YA know, I've had this extra weight for a while now and I'm not sure what my skin will look like once it's gone. In the past, my skin was elastic (yep- look at me, YO-YO Diet-er in the house), but this time I'm worried.

I have heard that as long as the weight loss is slow and steady, the chances of that staying like that are pretty slim. GOOD LUCK THOUGH!

Anyone reading this post, please do me a favor. I've started a blog to try and have all of you on the WWW keep me in check. It's been up for a week now, pics, struggles, ideas, etc. And I really need people to help me by checking it out, and leaving feedback so that I know I'm being watched. I posted some ebambarrassing photos up there, and I'd also like to know if you Juliette feel that I'll be dealing with the same issue. You can clearly see the sag on my gut in the photos.

Here's my Blog

BTW- I'm not selling anything, I just want people to follow my journey with the hope of sharing found knowledge, and sharing support on our weight loss journies:rotflmao:

Its taken a year and ive averaged just over 2lb a week. More at the beginning - less now im down a fair bit.
I have more weight to loose but im fairly happy with the look i have now :)
the link in my sig explains more how/where/why/etc

wishes, again congrats on your terrific weight loss you look so different.thanks for posting your pics up. you have got a bit of saggy skin but compared to the vast improvement in your long term health and increase in energy (isnt it great), its a small price to pay.and dependant on how much "bouncing back" happens theres always surgery :) you`ll have a flatter tummy than a 20 year old with no kids.
i have also got loose skin on my belly, thighs (inner),underarms and saggy boobs after loosing about 70lbs. it does worry me especially as i dont think surgery will be an option (cost if not available on the nhs and recovery time). i know its no good looking back - whats done is done but i wish i had taken this step years ago bfore my age and even more weight had crept up on me. i lost 5 stone in my 20`s and had not one bit of excess skin.

Hey, I'm proud of you for having thing courage to post your pictures. I know you felt scared to, but I think it's great that you did that so others can see what they might expect too. I think it's good also for those that to have the sagging skin themselves, I'm sure it would help them feel like they're not the only ones and that's always reassuring.

I hope that your skin will be able to bounce back enough so you don't need to go through surgery. However if you do decide to go through surgery I know you'll look great after :) I've been watching this show called big medicine and it's people who are in the process of getting gastric bypass and those who've had it and now are getting the surgery to remove the excess skin. It's just started so I've only seen two eps, but in those two eps there's been a couple people who've had that surgery and it was amazing what the result was. So if you do decide to have surgery at some point, just make sure to find a good surgeon and you'll be just fine :)

Again thanks for sharing :)

Juliette

So is it true that all people that lose that much weight will have to have surgery to get the excess fat off ?

Howdy Wishes,Thanks for sharing the pictures I don't find it yucky I am still amzed of the whopping 140 lbs you have lost! It is aggervating and clothes can hide it well but it is more a mental thing to.I noticed my tummy heading south 4 kids and 80 lbs lost I guess this is the bad part.
But we are healthier and if wanted to there is always plastic surgery which i think I would have to pass do to the stuff that goes wrong and the PAIN I look at it this way if I wanted surgery I would have done the gastric.
BUT I do know someone that told me the skin hangs so much it is litterally red and rashy and quite painful,so he's looking in to see if insurance will cover it do to health reasons. You still look amazing,Tammy

Its excess skin we're talking about. The excess fat will be gone by the time i do any surgery :)

I get an infected belly button often, i have cream for it. Also i have to make sure under neath is clean and dry - especially after exercise. If i wear tight clothing it stops it from moving about, chafing, and creating to many rashes.

not yukkie....amazing! I wish I had flappy skin instead of flappy fat filled skin!
I lost over 130 before and looked just like that, it was shrinking though and I had a product from avon that reduced cellulite and firmed my skin, it wasnt cheap but it was working, then I just put the weight back on!I didnt change my lifestyle like you did however so congrats again on you amazing success!

You still look A-mazing and so much healthier!

I know you have some loose skin but I think you're doing the right thing by waiting a year for it to bounce back because it could do just that. I know it depends on different factors and for what ever reason, some people's skin will spring back on it's own and others need some help from surgery but you could be one of the luckier ones who don't need it.

Good luck and keep up the good work, you're looking great!

You look Fantastic! just looking at your before and after has really motivated me into pushing myself...

your transformation is truely amazing!

No worries. Why you waiting so long for plastics?

Mine's not quite that bad but, im still gonna need plastics to get it where I want it. I think what saved me was my age and my workout level.

You did a awesome job. Don't regret any of it for one minute and don't feel bad about you're body. You have done something amazing. After plastics you will look outside how you should feel inside. Don't fret.

No one here would say anything negitive about it. This isint that kind of forum more over the older you are the the more you have to loose this is just a reality. Most people don't understand that. They think if they loose slower or something it won't be as bad. Once you're skin looses its elasticity it looses it period.
That being said working out and filling in some space with muscle over time will help but, it won't eliminate.

Because no (decent) surgeon will look at you for at least a year after weight loss to give your skin a chance to shrink by itself.

I suspect ill loose a lot of it just by waiting a year, however i realize my tummy will never be the same so surgery is most definatly on the cards.
Also, even if i was able to find and convince a doctor to do the surgery now, it would be a massive amount of operations to remove it all, and way more costly and complex compared to having to do it in a year when half it has gone by itself :)
It took many years to stretch that large, it will take a while to shrink back.

hi....joined this forum to find help in toning my sagging skin under arms and tummy, was 218, in 96, by 03 was 110, still that weight, but was wondering if there anything i can do lose that sagginess...how can i tell if its fat or skin...i am 5'4 if that helps..i cannot afford surgery but am frustrated with having to by baggy t-shirts to accomedate for excess skin under arms and when i wave..it just sways..:( any help much appriciated
