Sadie's Diary

Review of week 1

Okay, so week 1 wasn't as spectacular as I wanted it to be, but I did lose 3 pounds. Anyway, things I need to improve:
  1. I need to cut down on my caffeine intake
  2. No more chips
  3. I need to cut down on the chocolate
  4. I would say that I need to cut down on the alcohol, but it's hard. Maybe stop buying wine when I'm just going home
  5. Eat more fruit for snacks
  6. Eat something besides bread

The things I think went well this week are:
  1. I ate a breakfast of porridge nearly every day. I think that made a huge difference, and I want to continue that this week
  2. I definitely thought about what I ate a lot more this week, and didn't buy biscuits or things that I would definitely go overboard in eating
  3. I did lots of walking to college, and up stairs and stuff, and I got up fairly early very day

Okay, so here's to another successful weight losing week!

Great news

Oh my God! I am down another 2 pounds today. Now I am only 2 pounds away from my pre-Spain weight, which is a lot better than my post-Spain weight, let me tell you! Whoo! I am so happy. I feel so good about not buying that chocolate last night, I actually got rewarded for it. I probably won't be back here for a while, but I'm going to keep with the program, and keep you posted when I can. Life is good my friends, life is good! :)

Day 8

Sigh. Disaster. Just disaster today as far as eating goes. But I have been hungry all day, even though I ate a meatball Subway. I can't believe I bought a Subway, that's so bad.

Anyway, here it goes, a recap of the last week and a day.

Day 8:
  • 3 squares of Toberlone
  • tea & light milk
  • 1 pink French fancy
  • 2 slices of white bread, light flora and banana
  • tea and light milk
  • mediterranean vegetable soup
  • Tayto's cheese and onion crisps
  • tea and whole milk
  • 5 jellies
  • sip of red wine

The soup I got was absolutely beautiful, in this L.A. food shop in town. Definitely getting soup again there tomorrow.

Day 9

  • 5 jellies
  • coffee and whole milk
  • beef in black bean sauce and rice
  • strawberry tropical Calippo
  • tea and whole milk
  • snowball
  • 1 fruit pastille wine gum
  • 2 pints of Bulmers
  • 1 Munchie
  • tea and whole milk
  • 2 chocolate ring biscuits
  • 2 slices of white bread and flora

The beef in black bean sauce was scrumptious.

Day 10

  • porridge and whole milk
  • vegetable soup and white bread roll with flora
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 1 Mars Delight
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 1 Mars Delight
  • 1 Walker's cheese and onion crisps
  • 1 apple soft bake Nutri Grain bar

I don't think it needs to be remarked that I drank too much wine on day 10.

Day 11

  • porridge and whole milk
  • tea and whole milk
  • hot chicken roll with butter, coleslaw and cheese
  • can of Fanta orange
  • 2 slices of white bread and flora
  • tea and whole milk
  • cappucino and whole milk

I think this was my best day of the week, and it wasn't even that good. I felt violently ill by the end of it, I wonder why? Haha, stupid wine.

Day 12

  • porridge and whole milk
  • caramel latte
  • panini with pineapple, mozzarella cheese & red onion, salad with tomatoes, lettuce, peppers and red onion, and chips with ketchup
  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1 Nutri Grain apple bar
  • 1 Mars Delight
  • 2 pints of Bulmers
  • 2 pints of Fosters
  • 2 cans of Bavaria

This was a remarkable day, in which I cried and got angry with God over Brian, and I felt so, so terrible, and then that night we met him in the pub and we ended up back in his house for a while. So there you go. The dinner I had on day 12 was only savage, but not a very good day.

Day 13

  • 2 slices of brown bread with tuna and swetcorn, lettuce and cheese
  • can of Club orange
  • glass of whole milk
  • 1 can of cola
  • potato and chicken Quik Lunch
  • orange juice
  • 1 can of cola
  • Fry's peppermint cream
  • tea and whole milk

Note to self: Never buy that potato and chicken Quik Lunch again. It's like baby food. Disgusting.

Day 14

  • porridge and whole milk
  • bottle of diet 7up
  • Cadbury's Dairy Milk
  • pear
  • Dairy Milk Caramello
  • 2 slices of white bread and flora
  • Tayto's salt and vinegar crisps
  • tea and light milk
  • coffee and light milk

Whoop for the piece of fruit! *Whoop!*

Day 15

  • porridge and whole milk
  • ham, cheese and mushroom quiche with chips and ketchup
  • pint of Fosters
  • 2 pints of Bulmers
  • 2 slices of white bread and flora
  • tea and whole milk
  • King cheese and onion crisps

Finished an exam yesterday, so the drink was necessary.

Some stats from week 2

Number of days I ate cheese: 3
Number of days I ate bread: 7. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have to bring this down to at least 5 next week. And I've messed up the first two days already.
Number of days I drank alcohol: 3
Number of days I ate chocolate: 6. This is very bad also.

Compare with week 1's stats:
Cheese: 3
Bread: 5
Alcohol: 2
Chocolate: 4

So I'm annoyed. Very annoyed.

Day 16

Today was the biggest disaster of all time. I don't know why, but I felt hungry all day, so I ate loads. Way, way too much. I'm pissed off with myself, especially considering that I'm weighing myself tomorrow. Stupid! But anyway, I realised that I have been kind of feeling sick the last few days, and I was fine today, so that's maybe why I was eating all around me. I really, really hope I've lost a pound at least though, oh please Lord.
I got my first compliment about losing weight tonight from Louise. 5 pounds down and people are starting to notice! Whoo!

Anyway, Disaster Day went like this:
  • Subway sandwich of meatball marinada, lettuce, cheese and tomato in honey oat roll
  • Drifter bar
  • glass of low fat milk
  • bottle of 7up free
  • 1 scoop of vanilla choc chip ice cream and 1 scoop of honeycomb ice cream with chocolate sauce
  • tea and whole milk
  • potato and gravy
  • 1 Jaffa cake
  • 2 fig roll biscuits
  • tea and light milk
  • jelly snake
  • cream pie
  • 2 slices of white bread with ham, coleslaw and cheese
  • tea and light milk
  • 5 Jaffa cakes

So you see, disaster!

Good job on the compliment, so great when people start noticing, actually gives you the push I think.

What are Jaffa cakes????? I've never heard of that before.

I always enjoy reading your journal, a fellow wine lover. LOL.

cheers
michelle

Day 17

Great news people! I'm down a pound today (day 18). After yesterday's weigh-in, I was still 11 stone 9 pounds, and I felt like just giving up and crying. I hadn't gained, but I hadn't lost either. I sat in front of the computer feeling really sorry for myself for ages, then my dad came in and I asked him would he bring me to the gym when he came back from work. So he went with me and I did a great workout, and now I'm a pound lighter. Whoo! The whole not losing thing has really made me rethink my eating plan though, and I'm definitely going to have to cut out the crappy food if I want to see results. So I'm turning a new leaf for the next week. Oh yeah! Except for Saturday, when I'm going to get so drunk, because I have an exam. Anyway... here's yesterday.

  • weetabix and country store with light milk
  • tea and whole milk
  • 7 Jaffa cakes
  • 2 slices of white bread with light flora, ham, coleslaw and cheese
  • vanilla ice cream
  • 6 Jaffa cakes
  • tea and light milk

So, I did the dog on the Jaffa cakes. But they're so good. The rest of the day was good though.

Now, here's what I did in the gym:
  • Bike - Res 5, 70+, 5 mins
  • Stretches 1, 2, 3, 4
  • X-trainer - Res 115, 15 mins
  • Treadmill - Speed 7.0 km/hr, 10 mins
  • Bike - Res 5, 70+, 5 mins
  • Weights: Inner thigh, 20
  • Pull-down, 10
  • Push with legs, 30
  • Arms push, 20
  • Sit-ups: 60 legs on ground
  • 20 right leg up
  • 20 left leg up
  • Stretches 1-8

So there you go. I'm really going to try to be good for the rest of the day. For lunch, I'm going to go to that L.A. food place and buy a buttered bagel and soup again, and eat it in the bus station. It was really yum the last day. And healthy. Then later, I might buy some fruit and yoghurt. I have to consistently lose a pound a week at least from now on, otherwise I'll give up. Losing weight is hard.

Day 18

  • branflakes and country store with whole milk
  • orange juice
  • bread with tuna, onion, cheese, sweetcorn and mayonnaisse with potato wedges and pink sauce
  • Starbursts
  • latte
  • salt and vinegar Hula Hoops
  • Kit Kat
  • tea and whole milk
  • tea and whole milk
  • 2 slices of wholemeal brown bread and flora

Bad, especially the wedges. I don't deserve weight loss.

Day 19

  • banana
  • Danone Actimel
  • Moro bar
  • Danone Actimel
  • carton of apple juice
  • 1 pint of Bulmers
  • tomato and rosemary bap with chicken, lettuce, tomato, mayo
  • 2 pints of Bulmers
  • Dairy milk bar
  • tea and whole milk

That bap was so nice. Note to self: If getting roll in future, get that one.

Day 20

  • porridge and whole milk
  • 6 Coronas
  • pint of Bulmers
  • naggin of vodka with blackcurrant and coke
  • bottle of Bulmers
  • turkey, coleslaw and lettuce sandwich in white bread
  • McDonald's Big Mac, fries and coke

Oh Maccy D's, Maccy D's. I am so not loving it. In my defence though, I was kind of drunk/heartbroken. The heartbreak continues.

Day 21

  • lamb stew and 2 mashed potatoes
  • 3 glasses of 7up
  • 1 bottle of Lucozade
  • bottle of 7up free
  • white bread roll and flora
  • Skips
  • Star bar
  • tea and whole milk

I suppose I've had worse days. I will never get that lamb stew again though, it was rotten.

Day 22

  • Danone Actimel
  • pear
  • sausage baguette with butter and ketchup
  • can of Coca-Cola
  • Twirl bar
  • Fry's chocolate cream
  • 2 slices of white bread and flora
  • 2 cups of tea and whole milk
  • some 7up

Well, at least I had that Actimel yoghurt. They are so nice.
