Running amount help!!

hey ok heres my question.
What would be better for optimum weight loss. I am going to wrestle this year, and i am in weight lifting during 2nd block. So would running one mile each time in the morning(5 a.m.) during class(9:30) and at night around 7 pm. Or if i just ran 2-3 miles in a row sometime in the evening. Basically im getting at, is should i run 3 times a day, each 1 mile, or just 1 3-mile run? Would one would help me lose weight, but still be able to grow some muscle. Thanks
 
If your trying to decide between 1 mile at 3 different times or just one 3 mile run go with the 3 mile run. It will be more intensive and you will burn more calories.

ok but, then again, if i exercise periodically through the day, wont that speed up my metabolism to possibly burn more calories?

If you are going strictly for weight loss I think the 1 mile, 3 times a day is your better bet. By taking breaks between the miles you can assure that they will be done with significant effort with optimum calorie burn. Doing 3 in a row you will tire as you run and the longer the run, the less efficient/less effort you will be putting into it, thus burning fewer calories. At least thats what I'd assume.
