Rotator Cuff / Shoulder Blade

I had a rotator cuff injury that required surgery. Since that time (two years ago), my shoulder is fine, but my shoulder blade experiences some cramping and an occatioonal minor pinch. Any suggestions on how to releave this? Are there others that have a similar experience?

I am preparing to get back into weightlifting after quite a long layoff. I don't want to do any damage, and the shoulder blade issue is a bit of a concern. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the advice. I have just started some extreamly light weight rotator strengthening exercises. Can you recommend any streching exercises for the cuff, or more specifically the shoulder blade area?

I do find that I tend to keep the muscles of the shoulder contracted, even when at rest. I'm guessing this is a reaction to the original injurt and could result in the tightening.

If anyone else could direct me to some shoulder blade streches, I would appreciate it. I'm looking to resolve this as fast as I can.

Thanks

One simple stretch is to reach your hands out infront of you, grab one hand with the other and "stretch" your arms out infront. You can also drop the head down a little bit.
If you internally rotate the arms (so the thumbs are facing downwards), and cross your hands over - you can then link your fingers together to make it a bit more even on both sides.

see a physio who will probably advice something like this:
