Rolling back the clock

The last 24 hrs have been a very successful start to my fresh slate! I weighed in yesterday, then went to gym and ran the full 5k in one go for the first time!!! V proud!! It took 38 minutes, which is far too slow, but once I can do 5k twice a week I will try to get it faster. this was as (7.6 km ph).

Anyway then I did weight lifting, and then an work and Jennifer I only made 10 seconds on a full plank!! I really can't do it! Lol never mind, it was my first ever attempt, sure one day I'll be able to. I do think it is to do with my shoulders (in my one my shoulders the muscles are all damaged&torn) but I am slowly sorting this so I hope this helps. :)

I ate 1400 calories, ate plenty of protein.

And the best news is one day after my official weigh in I snuck on the scales this morning to find.... I've lost one pound in the last 24 hours, which means I am finally half way to my target loss of 3 stone. It's really motivated me to be good for the rest of the week and I hope that at my next proper weigh in on sat I will see this and hopefully another pound loss.

My mum was moaning at me last night that I need to go and buy some size 12 jeans as my 14s are now literally falling down. I wanted to make sure they were too big before I went as I knew I'd be upset if the 12's didn't fit in the shop. I can't decide what to do about clothes as part of ne thinks I really shouldn't buy any as I might slim out of them. I brought a skirt I loved a few weeks ago in a 12, it did up but was too tight, then I knew it should be ok for the summer.

Starting to realise a new wardrobe may cost me a few pennies - eeek.

Charlie

Haha, when I reached the 1.5 stone lost mark I had to buy alllll new clothes! very expensive! You're doing so well :D

Charlie - hey 10 seconds is 10 seconds - and it is a start. Def don't do anything to cause further injury to your shoulder though.

Excellent that the 14's are falling down. Buying a new wardrobe can be pricey - especially if you are still planning on dropping another size (or more). Luckily, I have a wardrobe in every size down to 12 - although some of it may not be current style, I have enough generic pieces that hopefully I won't have to buy too much. Go check out those 12's - it may just give you another really good feeling.

I have a few dressy pieces in a 10 and 12 - things that were too nice and expensive to go!!! Great for weddings and big nights out!!! Got 2 suits as well. Just no jeans, casual clothes etc. Think I may go buy some jeans next weekend!

Yeah I know, sure I can build the time up over time. Hope you Both had good weekends!

Ah Charlie you are going to buy size 12 jeans! That is AWESOME! Well done on the loss girlie!! Have fun shopping :)

Girlie! Congrats on your loss! ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND running an ENTIRE 5KM!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!! That's fantastic!!!

Ok! I am soo freaking excited for you! SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! You are totally going to kill that 5k!!! You've already done it, so you know you can run the distance, now all you need to do, is up the speed everytime you go in!!!

OMG! Girl!! Ahh!!!! *hugs* You make me want to go to the gym right now, get on the threadmill, and force myself to accomplish an entire 5k!!!!!! You are so inspiring! And you should be so happy that you've reached that goal! Wow!! :)

As for the buffet (I'm pretty sure right now, i could eat and all you can eat buffet out of business!! hehehe)- i think it's good to treat ourselves! We all have weeks where we fall off and don't do what we'd like to...but you've shown just how strong and motivated you are by jumping right back on, and pushing out a fantastic workout!!! :)

You should be very proud of yourself!!

You were saying that you ate too many carbs and not enough protein...I find i have this problem EVERY DAY!!! My carb intake has to be about 80% of my diet..i don't know why I have such a problem with consuming protein (and so many carbs :S ) ... have you found any ways to get quick protein into you!? I'm not one to pick up a giant leg of meat and gnaw on it! hehehehe

You're doing so great! It's fantastic to hear that you're needing new clothes- you should go out and buy yourself a few staples to tide you over until your next size decrease ;) You're going to get there girlie! Just you wait!!

Hahahaha thanks Tik I think I needed a good talking too/ congratulations.

I am so proud I did the whole thing, now I just gotta keep doing it!

My general tricks are ( when I'm at home) I have cereal for breakfast so no protein, then for lunch I have protein and soup or salad and dinner I have protein with some carbs, some days with none.

I an eating a lot off eggs now! Omelette, scrambled, boiled eggs etc. Plus I love meat and I have a big salad for dinner with cooked cherry tomatoes, avocado, chicken breast and low fat mozzarella etc.

When I'm away I'm just generally screwed for food. Grrr I am not going to start ranting about this yet again!

I have pretty much given up pasta and rice, and if I'm at hOme I have bread about once a week ( here every day!). So the only carbs I do have at home (apart from my daily cereal fix!) is a jacket for lunch or new potatoes with meat and salad for dinner 2 times a week prob.

Good morning world!!!!!!!!

I overslept this morning so I dIdnt get to run round the beautiful park near my hotel, but I must have needed the sleep and man I feel good this morning. Partially to do with sleep improving my mood and then just the fact I have managed to eat really well so I don't feel all bloated!!

It's also half way through the week - yippee!!

Charlie

1.5 days till I go home, not that I am counting!!

I went for a run last night round a local park, reckon I only did 1.5 km. I need to get some proper running trainers!! Running outside majorly hurts my feet!!!

48 hours till the dreaded weigh in... I'm v proudof how good I've been even though away, so u hope weigh in will be fine.

Charlie

Its great to see that you are motivated to run. Running does make you feel great. About shoes, do you know what sort you will buy. Me, i love asics. New Balance are very popular. I have to admit i am not up with the latest running shoe technology but i do love light shoes with plenty of gel.

If you haven't gone down on the scales as much as you hope, i hope you won't lose heart. So many people here get so upset by what's going on in the scales. A lot of the time its water but i think if we get angry and become depressed, maybe that's when we are prone to punish ourselves with a binge. So we need to avoid that depression or anger.

I have no idea what type of shoes to buy - i think i need to do some serious research!! I am happy to pay out for some i just want them to be comfortable.

I have VERY high arches in my foot which makes shoes difficult.70% of the time i run my arches of my feet hurt more than any othere part of me, which really cannot be good!!

Any recommendations anyone has would be great! Thinking i need to go to a proper shop!

Charlie

There are some stores in Australia (not sure about elsewhere, even though I live in the UK- it's been that long since I bought running shoes) that have some sort of pad that you step on and it tells you/ the salesperson where you put most of your weight and thus potentially where you might have problems. IIRC you don't pay for this, but it could be reflected in the price of the shoes. I'd see if I can find something like that. (I'll second the recommendation for New Balance- I've had a pair for nearly two years and I love them to pieces, but they're still in very good condition) If you have particularly unusual feet (or one foot with significantly different needs to the other), I know at least some podiatrists will alter shoes (or send them away to be altered to their specifications)- my mum had that done with one of her shoes, the right shoe got a massive wedge put into it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have just found on the internet a shop only 10 miles from my house where they sell New balance and also where they do an analysis of your running etc to help you choose a shoe.

So i may drag my hubby there to investigate and buy some for my birthday! God so far my bday list is - new scales, running watch and running shoes....... obsessed!

Charlie

Hey Charlie - I was going to suggest going to a running store where they can watch you run and make selections of shoes that should work for you. I tried on a few pairs before I found the ones that seemed to 'work'. I also purchased 1/2 size larger (per recommendation of the person fitting me) - as I guess it allows room for foot expansion (not the tech term). Be prepared to run a fair amount of times - I was not - I was in a dress (and regular bra) running up and down the strip mall repeatedly.

I love your b-day wish list. I have added my trainer as a staple on my gift wish list.

Hope you have a fantastic weigh in!

I have officially broken the plateau!!!

Ohh yes this week I lost 2 pounds! Ah man it is soooo good to see the scales going down again!!!!

Today is also my monthly measurements, so here we go this month I have lost

boobs - 1 inch
waist - 1.5 inch
hips/bum - 0.5 inch (finally some movement)
thight - 0.25 inch

I am now 38-31-40.5, which I guess is just still an hour glass. I wish I could get my hips/bum down quicker!

I am so relieved that I am progressing again!!

My original goal for end of April was to lose 2 stone, then I lowered it after my plateau to be to get to 170 (-26 pounds), and after the 2 loss this week I am only 4 pounds off that target with three weeks to go, so I am going to really throw myself into achieving that goal!

Anyway I am getting up to go to the gym, run my 5k on the treadmill and do some ab work and probably some over machines. I am grouchy that I'm not doing weights today. Never mind, hopefully Monday.

Charlie

I had a few days off and I just think my metabolism recovered. I think I was under eating for the amount of caloroes I was having. I have also increased my protein intake.

Charlie

Arrrggghhhh I hurt!!!

Today hubby and I went hiking over hills all afternoon, I hurt soo much!!

I know, I know no pain no gain (or loss!) but oooewww!!
