Heya all, I had a fab night! But wow cannot even think about the calories - eeeek!!

Day off exercise tonight, running again tomo!

:) hey you sound pretty much like how I started out! - I'm 27, same height as you and my highest weight was 195lbs - I put on a lot of weight because of a job I hated and other life stresses too - I'm now 154lbs but still trying to lose the last few pounds!!! Keep up the good work you will get there :D x
 
Hmmmmmmm it is looking like my weigh in tomo may be the same weight I was three weeks ago!!!!!

I just don't get what is going on! I was wondering if I'm undereating but then I just cannot see how that is true...... Although I have not been taking into account what exercise I do on my calories

I have 1500 per day - it ranges from 1200 - 1800 occaisionally but I aim
for 1500 most days. I think my bmr is 2500....

I reckon I do 500 calories of exercise three days a week plus 300 one day.

What do you girls do? Do you eat more to cover your exercise?

Perhaps my plateua is not under eating... I dunno!

I had the same problem in February - the scale was stuck/ broken etc - really annoyed me.
As for the calories...i m not sure what to say - as i m not counting them at all. i have a system that seems to be working ok for me.
Breakie: cereals with fruit OR bread w some spread
Lunch: carbohydrate OR pulses usually - obviously in a meal
I dont eat carbohydrate after 2 pm
Dinner: before 7 pm and i always have vegetable/salad with protein (meat/fish/low fat cheese eg feta)
Snack on fruits and nuts/seeds
I also had problems when i ate out in restaurants - and i couldnt control addectives/salt - so bc i guess there was too much salt in my diet - it retained the water...and hence didnt lose weight.

Hey Miss Charlie - I'm in the same boat as you - scale is erradic. I've also been thinking that maybe I am not getting enough calories in for the amount of working out that I am doing.....with that said, I still think of the basic principle - calories in - calories out - deficit = loss - overage = gain.

I know that wasn't any help - but wanted to share that you are not alone.
 
Thank you both!! I'm sorry you have both had the same problem but it does make me feel better!

I was down a pound this morning so back to having lost 19 in total - thank god! I hope this is a sign things may start moving again!!!

I am going to be majorly gutted if I do not get to two stone by end April.

Justina I eat out a lot!!! I tend to eat 1200-1300
On a normal day so I have extra calories to use for eating out another day!!!

I think as you say I just need to stick with it!! I am going to try to make my days more even, which will mean upping my intake slightly and just see how it goes. The scales have to budge eventually!!

On another note I decided to try to do 25 min. At 8kmph and it almost killed me! I did 20 then had to walk for couple of minutes before final 5!! On a positive note my end distance was 4k and most was running.

Now I just need to manage the full 25 at 8 and then up
It again! Yech I have to say the extra speed is far worse than adding on time to my run!

Down a pound! Well done lovely :D What is your goal weight, by the way? I never know what us tall girls should aim for. I want to get down to about 160 at first I think and then 150..

yeah - it might be the salt then when eating out..
in that case try drinking as much water as you can.
i read it somewhere that salt retains water. but if you drink a lot of water then it actualy releases it. I just did this research when i had the same problem.hope it helps! :grouphug:

I am aiming for 154 (11 st). When I dieted years ago I went below 150 omg it looked awful! I am too curvy I cannot go below 150!

That gave me 42 pounds to lose, i've lost 19 pounds so far.

Great job on the run - even with the little bit of walking - you did finish 25 min @ 8 kmph. woohoo!

Glad the scale finally budged in the right direction.
 
The human body is truly amazing and completely baffling!!! After no weight loss for weeks, a binge on sat night and then upping my calories and eating regularity slightly for two days I have lost 2 pounds - mental.

I am guessing it's not a coincidence so will keep the calories raised and see what next tues weigh in looks like.

Quick gloat - I have now list 20 pounds!! Wooohoo! One more and I'll be half way!

I have TOM at minute but trying to power through! Just need to try not to weigh myself till tues morn now.

Been too busy to exercise but I now have a double whammy tonight, which I am
really looking forward too!!

Going to do weightlifting and then reattempt the straight 25 at 8kmph. I am NOT a fan of doing it that way round but needs must!

Hmmmph, ok mixed day all in all.

Weight lifting - great, upped several weights and found whole routine way easier. Then I tried to run.......

I made 8 minutes and I had to stop because I was so out of breath I felt like I couldn't breathe!! I just cannot run faster!!! I think I am going to do 30 mins at 7.5 on sat morn. Going to put the speed back down and work to the 5k instead. I believe at 7.5 it's 40 minutes, so I'll try to get to this first.

I think maybe I am struggling to run faster as I am stilll let's face it overweight and unhealthy. Sometimes I forget I am not suddenly superwoman!!
