Well, here it goes.....

-- How much weight do you want to lose? I'm currently 185, and want to weight 140-145, so about 45 lbs

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? By December. At the beginnig of the year I told myself by September, but being stuck in a plateau, I pushed back the date till December

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Diet and excercise. I'm limiting myself to 1200 calories a day, and excercising 3 days a week for an hour. Maybe I should do more???

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? My friends and family, and myself.

-- How realistic is your goal? Well, I don't think I've weighted 140 lbs since I was in elementry school. LOL. How sad is that. But my goal is realistic, I think, I'd have to lose 2 lbs a week, which I've read is 'healthy'

-- When will you start? Today!!!!

Good luck Rodi!

I think excersising 3 days a week for an hour is fine! Thats about the same amount of excersice i am starting off with, only 20 mins to half an hour a day. Its best not to push yourself to hard at first unless you are super-fit, otherwise you might injure yourself. And when your doing intensive workouts your muscles need to recover the next day.

Where are you from? x

I'm sure you'll get support from this forum as well! Everyone here wants you to succeed, it's great to feed off of each others inspiration.

The question "should I do more?" really depends what kind of exercise your doing -- if its an easy workout, you should do it more often. If it's challenging, stick to three days a week until it gets easy, and then either amp up the workout or do it more often. Just pace yourself and never do more than you can stick with, but you also want to be making progress. :)

I also think giving yourself a window between 1200-1500 calories a day is healthy, and don't punish yourself if you wind up at 1,370 or 1,430. It's way too easy to wind up over 1,200 with a cup of juice or milk, and sometimes unhealthy if you wind up under (as you've probably read!).

Good luck on your first week, can't wait to see where you are in December!

thanks... i'm from south texas. My exercise routine @ the gym consists of weights, ab workout, and elliptical machine and/or treadmill. I try to change it up to not get bored. Last week I took 2 zumba classes, and am planning to add 2 more days to my weekly workout routine. I still don't know yet, 'cause I do not want to burn out my body.
