woah 33lbs! how long have you been on this new diet?

Hey this is cool, I was just over in your diary.

I'm not on a diet, I've changed the way I live my life. I know that may sound like semantics but it really is different. To answer your question, I've been doing this for 12 weeks today.

I noticed in your diary that we are similar in height and body type. I'm a few years older than you though. We can do this. This is a battle for our lives!

No weights tonight, I took the girls to the YMCA pool instead.

Useless fact: The only real difference between an oral thermometer and a rectal thermometer is the taste.

Oh and I was gonna do weihgts this evenign as well instead I cooked my bday girl her fav dinner nad made her a cake and used the ellitpical!!! Spending time with our girls is more important!!!

Well ya that is exactly what it is!!! The best way yo look at it as well because you fail diets and diets fail you - the best way to go forward is by changing your lifestyle!!!

I hear you and totally understand what you are saying. The word diet is easily misinterpreted often. A diet is actually the food you are eating. So what I meant was: "How long have your been on your diet(healthier eating regimine) and exercise plan?" Anyway, way to go on your success so far.

It sounds like your day is going well I hope it continues on for you - I just did my 2 mile walk in 30 mins - I cut off 8 mins and I went in the rain I feel so alive :D:):D!!!

My day is going well. I didn't get to walk at lunch though. My boss wanted to take me to lunch and discuss a few things. We ate at this little hole-in-the-wall kinda place that does like home cooking. I had the 4 "vegtable" plate. I got back and plugged into fitday to calculate the damage. 700 freakin' calories!!! I can fit it in my calories for the day but I normally do less than half of that for lunch and then do a snack mid-afternoon.

I'm still 'on plan' and I am hitting the YMCA after work. I just joined there. I finally get to use an elliptical machine again!

Good job on the walk Cinderelly! I'm glad you feel alive because obviously you are:)

Random thought: Since missles are designed to hit stuff shouldn't they be called hittles? I'm just sayin'...

Hi Griff,

I think its soo wonderful you're getting healthy for your girls and spend so much time with them. I wish I had more time with my father when I was younger. Or that even now he would make an attempt to get healthy so he will be around for when my brothers and I have children (he smokes two backs a day and is extremely overweight). I love coming here and reading your posts you are a really funny guy... and even remind me of my father.

Your useless fact: what's the difference between an oral and rectal thermometer.... Everytime I was sick when I was little (which was a lot) and I was having my temperature taken my father would say that to me to cheer me up.

Just 12 weeks? You're doing very well, then! It took me almost a year to lose 30lbs. I think I was a little less serious about my goals back then... but at least I managed to maintain the lower weight.

Congrats on losing so much in 12 weeks. That's amazing!
 
Jenna - Thanks for stopping by, it is really important to me to spend time with my girls. Sometimes it's hard to fit it all in but it's worth it.

Sunny - Thanks, I've been working really hard. I did 100 miles last week on our Burger Lake to Lettuce Lake walk. Good to see you again.

Here is what I had for dinner. This is one of my favorites! Flat Out bread PIZZA! Yummy! Only 350 calories!
 
I made it to the YMCA after work today. I did the elliptical for 1 mile as a warm up and then lifted weights for 30 minutes. Then I did another mile on the elliptical. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow from the weights but it's time to step it up a notch!

I realized today that I need to come up with a weight lifting program. I'll work on that. Any input from any of you will be appreciated.

Random event today: My bluetooth headset battery went dead, I actually had to hold my cell phone up to my ear like a freaking caveman!

My arms don't work right today. At least I know I pushed myself hard in the weight room last night.

Ker-PLunk! That's the sound of me losing another pound! Whooop!
