Hi there and thanks for letting me be a part of this forum. What a great idea these are. I quit smoking last month with the help of some good people at another board and since it worked out so well I hope to apply the same thing here. Maybe lightening will strike twice. I know the nicotine beast and the hunger beast are different animals but let's see how this goes.

I want to lose 40 lbs (205 ==> 165) by June 1st. I plan to go under the knife and get sliced like bacon... ha-ha! just kidding 'bout the surgery thing there. LOL! No offense to anyone. Bad joke I know. I hope to rid the tire via meditation, prayer, eating discipline, and light exercise. I also hope to maintain it this time and keep it off for crying out loud. I think this forum is the key.

I welcome any advice. This link has great tips which I plan to follow...

At the moment I don't want to count calories. Perhaps later on.

I think my goal is aggressive but I will start today, God willing.

I pledge today that I will eat a normal dinner portion (no fast food) and drink more water. I will also get my lazy self off the couch and take a 40 min. walk. Thanks again everybody and see you soon.

Today I pledge to eat normal sized portions, drink plenty of water, exercise a little and basically act like a normal human being for a change. I wish us success. Thanks for listening and god bless. We CAN do this.

Hey Rob! So what have you been eating lately? And what's your exercise like? :) I think when I write things down, it helps me plan and stick to it better!

Hi, Olux. Nice to hear from you. I've been eating veggie burgers, soup, tuna fish sandwich, fresh veggies and fruits. I do a brisk 1 hour walk during my lunch hour. The temptation part is the toughest for me. I really love food. Yes, as things get tougher I will have to concentrate more and get mentally tough. Focus on the physical. Keep up the good work, Olux. Don't give up!

I am totally in the same boat as you! I'm sure others feel the same way as well! I don't mind so much working out. The hardest thing for me is to not eat when I don't need to. I'm ALWAYS thinking about food. ALWAYS ALWAYS! :) BLAHHh.

Don't worry, once you get into the habit of being healthier, it won't be AS hard. :)

Hello All/Olux, I hope you're all doing well. I kept my pledge again today and ate normal portions and walked at lunch time. But this is only day 4. Fat is very stubborn for me. It goes on so easy and does not leave without a battle. I hope we can stick with this.

All, am sticking to it. Hope u r too. Keep a good thought and prayer. I command the weight loss Gods to give you steroid strength to defeat the hunger beast and maintain a positive slim-new-you attitude. God bless.
