Rob D's weight loss

Well, I have been slacking in my diary, but not in RL. Just been busy. I have still been counting everything I eat/drink, and going to the gym every day. One exception was this morning however. Yesterday night I went back to a camp with some friends. I brought my trusty rum/diet coke low-cal alcoholic drink, but somehow I ended up being offered, and drinking 3 regular beers as well. I planed for that night, and cut down on calories, but I ended up at 2200. And, since it was a good night, I ended up missing my workout this morning! Weight in day, of all days to miss!

Also, Wednesday night, we went out to celebrate a friends birthday. I ran close to 2100 that day as well. 2 days over my 1800 limit in a week. It's not grossly over my limit, but I have got to be careful that these days only happen every so often.

Ah well, I've been good the rest of the week, and I'm going to the gym tomorrow. I don't normally work out on weekends, but I need to weigh-in for the week, and make up for the lost day today. :blush5:

Well, I went to the gym today as planned, and I'm down to 234. 3.5lbs lost this past week. A bit less gone than last week, but of course I hopped off the wagon a couple times.

Still, this is awesome progress. I'm loving the fact that I'm on my way down!

Hey Rob,

Being 16 lbs down in 2 1/2 weeks is absolutely incredible. Congrats to you!!!!!!! :)

As for the working out on an empty stomach, I head it and read it in several places. If you eat first, your body spends much of the time burning off the food you just ate, and not as much from your body. Could be a myth, but I'll stick to it for now until I hear a good argument otherwise.

Hmm, so his only argument is that I'll run out of energy. I don't think so because I've been doing this consistently for awhile now. It works for me, so I'll stick to it.

Thanks for visiting me and for the link DanisLastTime, you rock.

Well, it's Friday again, and I headed to the gym this morning for my workout, and weekly weigh-in. 230lbs even! 20lbs gone, I think that is quite the accomplishment considering it hasn't even been a month yet. I've gone down a belt notch, and my clothes are baggier. I love it.

Hopefully this weight will continue to drop off fast, so I don't need to buy a bunch of "transition" clothes. I wonder what people do about that, so they don't break the bank?

I've been steady on the multivitamins and cod liver oil pills, because fitday isn't pleased with the amount of vitamins and nutrients I'm getting with my diet. I feel great, and even when nothing is going on during the day, I still feel like I'm accomplishing something.

There may be a bit of a deviation tonight and saturday night. Drinks are happening, and I'll do damage control by lightening up on the calories for today and tomorrow. I've managed to still include my social life on weekends (read: getting drunk with friends, lol) and still keep dropping pounds. I'm doing it!

Friday weigh-in again today. I was a bit apprehensive because I was pretty lax with the diet this week. Only 3 days at the gym, and 2 nights I went out for beers with the guys.

However, I still lost 1.5lbs this week, bringing me to 228.5lbs. The last time I was under 230 was before college, 8 years ago! Excellent. Things are calming down around here, and after this weekend, I should be able to stay on track a bit better to get my loss up to 3-4lbs per week again.

Go me!

it won't so don't get used to it - it will slow down eventually.

I'd find yourself a tailor... to have your clothes taken it -without replacing them - or find some second hand clothing stores... it's a lot easier to stay on track when your clothes fit you properly -and you look a lot better wheny our clothes aren't hanging off you - when you look better -you feel better...

Tailoring isn't a huge investment -plus the bonus there -you've got no room to backslide -because you've got no fallback wardrobe...

Yea, the second hand store may be the best bet. I may be fooling myself by thinking the weight loss will keep up the fast pace, and I'll try not to be too pissed off when it slows down. lol

Thanks for visiting!

Well, I'm sure not updating this as much, lol.

Friday's weigh-in was 221.5lbs. Things are sure slowing down from my initial rush of weight loss, but I'm now eating more regular meals, while keeping up going to the gym. My original meal regiment wasn't working for me, and wasn't really sustainable because of it. I'm sure I go over my 1800 cals a day, but I no longer count the calories.

The biggest thing I changed, and have stuck with, is going with 1 serving of something. If we are having burgers for supper, I go with 1 instead of the usual 2, I have a cup or so of cereal, instead of rounding my bowl. Just things like that, and sticking with nonfat milk seems to be working for me at around 1.5lbs per week. Sustainability is what my previous setup lacked. I would always be craving for something, where now, I eat that something, in small amounts, and rarely.

221.5lbs. In a week I should be under 220, which is a big milestone for me, since I can't honestly remember when I was under that weight. Somewhere around highschool I believe. The 200 mark, likely after the summer will be the huge one though. I'm slowly working towards it! Go me!
