Ritagurl's NEW Diary: Back and Ready for Action!

Hi there!
I thought i'd start a new fresh diary. New year, new diary, etc. So I fell off the wagon in December and had been struggling to get back on since then. I stopped working out and was finding every excuse in the book to not eat right. Good thing that not working out was giving me much more knee pain than i could handle so I got my ass back to working out again at the beginning of January. I've been focusing more on weight training this time around and im up to 3x a week which feels really really good. And i did only gain back 5 pounds of the weight that i lost..which isn't too bad.

But now i am ready to tackle the eating side. I will be making a grocery run tonight to stock up on lots of veggies, fruits and good protein. My plan is to start on a 1,000 calorie deficit, maximum recommended. My BMR is 2,658 so I am combining a 400-500 deficit through excercise with the rest taken from calories...so overall i'm getting about 2000-2100 on excercise days and about 1700 on off days. It's hard to fight the urge to get in less calories too but i know from this forum it would just be counter productive. Overall, I would like to lose about 40 pounds during the next 4-5 months so if anyone has any other recommendations to healthily speed up that process please do so. :)

I'm taking measurements tomorrow morning as well as my weight to start things off right. I've never tried tracking my progress with measurements so i think that will be a good motivator to see the inches come off. I'll close this with my exercise and calorie schedule so if you have any suggestions feel free to leave one. :D

MON: 20 minute Interval Cycling / 1800 Calories
TUES: 40 minutes of Resistance Training & 20 min Cardio / 2100 Calories
WED: 60 Cycling Class / 2100 Calories
THURS: Rest
FRI: 40 minutes of Resistance Training & 20 min Cardio / 2100 Calories
SAT: 20 minute Interval Cycling / 1800 Calories
SUN: 40 minutes of Resistance Training / 2000 Calories

Also starting tomorrow i will also be writing down what i eat at least for a while.

Have a healthy day everyone! :seeya:

Awesome plan Rita!! You'll do good at it!

Sorry to hear about the weight gain, but I'm glad it's not too substantial. It would seem you and I have the same recommended caloric intake for the day. I eat between 1700-1900. I can go up to 2100, but I never want to. I'm never hungry enough. LOL.

I hope you can tackle this and still remain sane. I find it hard sometimes to remain emotionally unattached to a large chocolate brownie sundae. Haha.

204.5

So i've decided to weigh in every Thursday since this morning started off so well. I unfortunately have not measured myself yet. Didn't have very much time this morning and I want to make sure i do it right. So i will post them tomorrow morning after i measure tonight. I'm very excited about being 204 since i haven't seen that number since early December. I guess the exercise is helping more than i thought. Although, I will admit that i didn't work out as planned yesterday. I had a horribly stressful day and decided to wallow in it...not good. I really should know better since exercise does destress me. I think i didn't work out as a form of punishment..if that makes any sense. Made a few mistakes and I am now paying for it in the form of 6,000 dollars...and oh well is all i can say to move on. But i felt so bad and depressed about it yesterday and just felt like wallowing in it for the rest of the night and not work out. That is something i really would like to work on. 1. Not giving myself too much hell for mistakes or misteps since that's all a part of life. And 2. Doing things that will only make me feel better and not worse about it....like a good hour of exercise. Anyway...I feel better about it now but will def work on not being too hard on myself in the future.

Well..lunch is on and I'm out the door. I will post eatings after lunch. :)
