Hey yall

hey guys i just wanted to know if yoou need to do exersice for the diet to work. if so then what kind of exercise do i need to do.

thanx sammy

Hi Sammy,

I have been on the diet for 23 days and lost a total of 16.28 pounds but more than that I have lost at least 2+ dress sizes and have not done any exercise whatsoever. I have not had any cravings at all or any side effects like headaches etc.

There is one website if you do a google seach for 'the rice way' you will find it very useful. It goes into everything you need i.e. which kind of foods and quantities etc.

If anything, give it a try and if you don't like it try something else.

Good luck, Flower

Hey

thanx, il give it a try and c hw it goes. im trying to lose upto 60 lbs. how long do u think it will tke. well dun for going on 4 tht long. how long r u doing the diet 4.

Hi Sammy,

Well I initially was just going to be on until my wedding in 5 weeks, but I am so happy with the results that I might stay on it until my end goal weight which is another 57 pounds. I'll see how I go. I only set small goals, each 10 kilos until I reach that and then reset my goal - it doesn't make the end goal sound so far away. I would hate to think how much I would have lost if I actually did some exercise.

Sammy, it really isn't that hard - I looked into every website I could find listing the pros and cons and thought why not give it a go even for a week - well you saw how much I lost that first week, I was blown away.

It really isn't a boring diet, I don't miss the meat all that much because you can do so much with everything else; and once a week when I can have my protein, if I want too I can spoil myself a little and be a bit fancy and it doesn't matter.

Good luck and continued success.

hey

hello,

im going to give it a try but i jus want to know what does 1 cup mean. i dont know. and also what kind of stuff can you eat im not too sure. but once i find out il try and give it ago. did u lose anything in the detox week.

thanx sammy

Hi Sammy,

Do a search on 'the rice way' website that will give you all of the portions and which foods you can have - it's a brilliant site if you don't have the book. I lost 11 pounds in my first 7 days of detox but not only that but inches. 1 cup is simply 1 measuring cup or 250ml I think.

There are so many things that you can eat - the easiest way to describe the diet - eating unprocessed foods and good carbs. Either look at that website or the book and that will tell you all the foods that you can eat, mainly it includes fresh fruit, vegetables and carbs (including rice, beans, potatoes etc).

Good luck.

This diet looks interesting... I might just try this as some way to pass the time and see what happens.

Looks like it works for most people.

Flower,
I would like to know how you are doing on this, I have 30 pounds to lose before I am happy, maybe 35. I want to know how you have done on this lifestyle change. How many pounds have you lost?

Did you make this rice diet up?

Did you make this diet up? Sounds pretty sensible.

My weight loss goal is to lose 70 pounds. I started at 287 and now I'm down to 270. So that about 17 pounds and 30 inches on different parts of my body. I did that in about 15 days with some natural products.

I found out about the products from a video on youtube.

Where did the rice diet come from?

It's shockingly low in protein and veggies and insanely high in carbs. It's also not a sustainable "lifetime" way of eating for most people. I venture to guess that most people who do this diet lose a lost of weight because of the insane calorie restriction that the diet forces on you, and the minute they stop the diet, they begin to gain the weight back.

The diet doesn't teach you anything about healthy eating or learning to eat "normal" every day foods in reasonable amounts.

Also, from what I've seen, this diet is NOT compatible with any kind of healthy exercise; you can't sustain healthy exercise on the calories and nutrients that the menu allows.

Fad diets don't work. Bottom line.

Any diet is as healthy as an individual wants to make it. Even with Weight Watchers if you are allowed 23 points you can eat 23 points of chocolate rather than selecting healthier choices. And all diets can be boring as well. It takes a little bit of creativity to spice things up a bit, but is very easy to do with any diet. If you are a "sheeple", then you may not be creative enough and may well find yourself bored. Besides, sometimes boring = simple and simple = less time cooking and doing dishes. Thumbs up for less dishes. Grab an apple and go.

I am vegetarian and this seems like a good fit for me. And plenty of carbs for running and other activities. My starches often come from veggies as well. There are plant based proteins as well. Even grapefruit has protein. Protein does not have to come from animals. We get more protein than we expect because we are not taught to include plant based proteins.

Today is day two. I swear I am NOT getting on the scale for the first month. I am just going to be happy as my clothes get looser on me. I have about 65 pounds to lose.

So far today:
bf: toast (1) oatmeal, giant mango, water
lu: baked potato(10 oz)w/pepper, fresh mango salsa for on top of my salad, large romaine salad fresh from my garden, water

dinner: tbd but will include fresh tomatoes - am I supposed to count tomatoes as as fruit or a veggie??? Maybe with some sprouted whole grain toast....hmmmm.

Is anyone else still around here?

I put on a ton of weight when the doctor mistakenly put me on steriod inhaler. Bummer. Turns out it was a misdiagnosis and my regular doctor was quite unhappy. Also turns out I just need to be drug free. Nothing wrong with me at all. Except the whole weight thing. Sigh.

The real bottom line is that all diets work. Even those crazy unsafe ones - like eating bacon and icecream for breakfast. Or --- pancakes, sausage/bacon, eggs/omelette w/cheese, toast with butter and a cup of coffee. Now THAT is unhealthy. YOU need to make permanent changes though - with lifestyle and eating habits both. Any diet can take the weight off - only you can keep it off. Go back to the same bad habits and you will achieve the same bad results.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Newbie here

Hi everyone! It's great to see everyone achieving such amazing results. I just started the diet yesterday and felt great. I was a bit concerned though when I woke up this morning to staggering dizzyness. While it was nice to see I went from 158.7 to 157.0 in a day, I am a bit scared. Perhaps my body is adjusting to the diet? Diabetes and insulin resistance run in my family so I was a bit sceptical about the large amount of sugar intake on this diet. I am also an exercise freak, martial arts and resistance training 3-5 times a week (which I did yesterday). I am eating breakfast as I type this and I'm starting to feel a bit better but still, any thoughts please? sorry about the long post heh.
