Resistance Training

How important is resistance training? I heard that to get really good results you should add resistance training every week. Also, what if i did some resistance exercises on my week off?

Resistance training is essential to a well rounded fitness regimen. To get good results you need a good program that targets your muscular system in a balanced and effective manner.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by your week off; does this mean week off from cardio?

What are you doing for exercise now? Give us some more information and we'll be able to help out a bit more.

As in week off i mean next week i'm taking the whole week off of all weight training because it's Spring Break and i don't go to school where my gym is. My routine has consisted of upper body on monday, lower on wednesday, and upper on friday, it wasn't a very good routine. but in 2 weeks when my new quarter starts i'll only have school monday through thursday, so basically i have 4 days to work out.

Allen is dead on. Even though you might feel like a fat load after taking a week off; you're muscles won't have detrained and chances are you won't have gained any more than a pound or so. Take the week and relax - I'd join you if i could.

Well gaining a pound or so isn't bad for me, even if it's fat, cuz i'm pretty skinny. But thanks i was thinking about maybe working out like 2 days next week but i guess i'll just take the whole week off.
