Like two peas in a pod Ms B ;):D

Over my calorie target by 414 today but I'm ok with that as I did so much walking my legs ache. No idea how far overall, maybe I should try and fix my fitbit?

I'm not one for posting about particular meals, but today I had some leek and potato soup. Now I have a little rule; soup is not a meal, it's a starter. So I know I'm breaking that lol. Anyway, with the rule in mind I decided to thicken up the soup by crumbling in 100g of stilton while it cooked. Then I diced up some sliced ham and sprinkled that on the finished meal (or starter ;) ). I'm not that great in the kitchen (yesterday's portobello mushrooms with eggs in them that I baked in the oven just didn't taste good, even though they looked fab!), but the soup tasted amazing, I was really pleased with it.

I would've been right on my calorie target after that, but i was still hungry (told you soup isn't a meal) so I finished the stilton lol. I think I needed the extra calorie boost today though, so tired!

Glad you liked your soup. I'll be honest, I eat a lot of soup (as a meal!) because I find it easy to leave in a crock pot and then it's ready when I get home.

Wow, we've got an international soup survey going here lol. it is something i feel strongly about though, i may make a placard and sit outside the heinz factory. bet that'd make the news :rotflmao:

Just staggering onto the forum before bed to log my day. Uni assignment gets handed in tomorrow so hopefully will get a bit more time to myself for a week or two now! maybe do that catching up on other diaries i've been promising :)

Cals are 349 in the green today according to the app. Not much on the exercise front today, just a lot of staring at a computer screen. I did have a quick go on the dumbbells tho.

Hmm yesterday 215 in the red, today 220 in the red too. Fairly consistent at least lol. Back to green I think tomorrow

Quick update to log...

35 and 36 calories in the green for Thursday and Friday, all good huh? Not so today lol, 1014 in the red. I was tired and hungry though after a long walk, so not too bad. Balance is still good :) if i'd been doing that amount of cals regularly I'd be concerned but it's a one off.

Exercise has been mainly pretty moderate, bits of walking here and there and regular lifting.

Oh, and the belt notches are now down to the last hole. Few weeks and I'll be having to go shopping :D #progress

Hi Stan - we're twins - I'm a repeat offender from the UK and only just turned up out of the blue.

Lets hope we stick together and get where we want to be. :)
I'm just starting off and trying to get control - I'm not up to counting calories yet - well done for counting your calories. :hurray:

Well done on staying under your calorie target Stan :)
Keep that coat when it becomes way too big for you. I have saved an outfit that is about 4 sizes larger than I am now. I know I'll never be that big again, but it doesn't hurt to have it tucked away as a reminder. One day I'll try it on again!
Typing in your diary regularly is good therapy & helps you to keep on track.

I've saved some of my fat clothes, but I donated the rest. With me a good reminder is remember that I spent a little too much on the clothes I have now and I'd hate for them not to fit anymore!

Woohoo welcome back to us both! It feels like I just lost my way on the path, or more like forgot I was on a path at all. But I'm back on it now and I need to stick to this path and see where it goes.

Lol problem is I feel like that about my old (starting to get baggy) clothes :rotflmao:. I'll get some more once the summer arrives, maybe even get some tight ones to aim for :)

So, after Saturday being a bit bad I managed to make a tiny mess of Sunday too. Got myself all emotional on Saturday night as it's the anniversary of a friend's passing later this week. Plus work has been a bit lonely after my only real office-friend left last week. Combined with a lack of sleep it just started a real downward spiral of negativity - and we all know where that ends up... usually at the bottom of a family-sized portion of profiteroles.

Fortunately I was so down I couldn't even be bothered to go out and buy any, so I made do with some jaffa cakes and that was as bad as it got. So Sunday ended on 475 calories in the red but not a lot of exercise. Could've been much much worse!

Feeling much more on it today though, managed to be 543 calories in the green and achieved more reps than usual on my lifting. Purchased myself a new DSLR camera today too, just an entry level model as 1) I don't really know what I'm doing with it yet and 2) I hate spending money lol. Hopefully it'll be a bit of a hobby to get me out and about some more.

Ahhh the new camera sounds fun! I got myself one a few months back and am really enjoying it as a new hobby :) Hope you do too!

What did I say last week about having more time? It's just about to turn 11pm in this part of the world and I've only just finished working o_O 14 hour days are not fun. That's my excuse for not getting myself onto the other diaries like I promised anyway.

So, not a lot of exercise has been achieved although I did do quite a bit of walking around yesterday. Calories were 189 in the red yesterday and 25 in the green today. Need to watch the fat content of some of my foods though, keep getting orange or red warnings on my app lol

Thanks Sunflower :) took some photos with it yesterday to try it out and all went well. I'm going to by a telephoto lens tomorrow if I get chance, see what fun that brings with it

I'm sorry to hear about the anniversary of your friends death. I can imagine it's very difficult to avoid the emotional eating in that circumstance.

I agree :iagree: I think that a lot of us revert to emotional eating at such times. You did really well to keep your calories so moderate under the circumstances.

The new camera will be really useful for taking the before and after photos that will amaze us once your project brings the results in.

I think so too Stan. Well done.
I hope you have some fun with your new camera. Getting out & about will be good.

Wow, look at that. I've been a member here for 11 years next week

11 years, so much has changed despite the scales sitting pretty much still. I'm thinking about what I feel most about that; regret is a word that springs to mind but I think that's just the glass-half-empty pessimist in me. Perspective is probably a fairer word. I've definitely got a better view of things; I know where I'm going and more importantly, how to get there. Whether I do sooner or later though is a different matter lol. Hopefully I can.

Talking of regret though, my one genuine regret is losing touch with my super buddy Janez :(

Not sure if I'll be a regular contributor but I'll still be here, lurking in the shadows lol. Hopefully I'll be posting my success pictures for the 12th anniversary of me joining the forum, you never know haha! :)

Hey, 11 years for me too! I just signed in again yesterday, and am too feeling the weight of regret. No pun intended.

I'm looking forward of hearing your successes sooner not later! This random person believes in you! :)
