Well i did intend on starting this diet when my scales actually arrived, the ones i have now broke (Not in the way you might think of course :p) & my `current weight` at the moment is going by the last time i propperly weighed myself 3 months ago.

Age - 20
Height - 6"5
Weight - 22st (310lb)

Well 3 months ago i was 22 stone, which would be roughly 310lb's give or take. I'm aiming to get to around 200 - 220 in maybe a year (That would be 2lb a week roughly) which seems fairly realisitc. I'm not sure it's the wisest choice to start dieting before i can find out my actual weight as i've heard alot about how people always lose the most weight on the first week of dieting, which is meant to be a real boost to confidence. Still no matter, starting early is better than starting late.

I checked a few sites & i apparently have an allowance of 2,600 calories per day:rolleyes: i mean c'mon, that seems a bit over the top. I've decided i'm just going to eat when i'm hungry, & replace what i usually eat with something more healthy. I usually NEVER eat salad, pasta or anything healthy & generally just eat chips, battered whatever, or just general crap, i'm a real picky eater though so i'll have to really plan ahead on some days.

I have a job which is actually on a nightshift (7 at night till 7 in the morning) so i'll be having my breakfast at 5pm, & the rest there-on after. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine for the most part... but i'm not sure what i could do exercise-wise when i'm on shift.

Lastly, as for exercise... i've not got a clue what to do. While i'm off shift i'll be fine, i take the dog for a long walk everynight i'm off shift anyway. (About 1 to 2 hours walking) I'm certainly not fond of the idea of Jogging or going to the Gym (I'd be far to embarassed) as for on shift... bleh... I'll think of something.

So for today:

Cucumber sandwich
tuna Rice & Sweetcorn (a hell of alot though, half a small tin of sweetcorn, a tin of tuna & like 250g of rice)
& 3 cadbury eclairs (Which are tiny :p)

Sadly i haven't actually planned for today, so i'm not sure what else to have, perhaps a Turkey sandwich before i go to bed.

Good luck me! & the rest of you!:)

I did have that turkey sandwich after all.

Today:

Breaksfast consists of a bowel of Rice Krispies
Lunch will be 2 turkey slice & salad pita's
Dinner will be chicken pieces, Rice & Sweetcorn

On the off-chance i get a bit peckish today i've got myself some sugar free jelly to quench that.:)

I haven't had rice that often (fairly monotone eater) but i did enjoy that lasst meal very much. I'm also probably gonna try some fish... Jus fish (Most fish in england comes with batter or breadcrumb or some random coating) Never actually bought any before:doh:

Also taking the dog for a walk in about 15 mins, even though it's a work-day. got up early & have a bt of extra time.

P.S it's so damn hard to drink 8 pints of water a day, how in the blue hell do you do that

Well yesterday was indeed a succes, stuck to everything down to a tee... Still can't drink 8 pints of water though >_<

I'm a really picky eater, especially when it comes to healthy foods, i don't like peppers, onions, tinned tomatoes or any other kind of tomato other than raw. & i'm not fond of a great deal of types of fish.

That said on the flipside, i don't like butter, salad cream, mayonaise, tomato sauce or nearly every type of dressing you can think of :p so it swings in roundabouts i guess. Well on with the show.

Today i'll start of with a bowl of fruit & fibre, for lunch i'm gonna do myself some more salad pita's (with lean ham slices this time) & for dinner, i'm hoping for Pasta + tuna (Maybe with a smidgen of parmesan cheese if it's not calorific :p) do they even have microwave-able packets of pasta (Not pre-made with sauces & **** though, i'd like it just plain pasta, cooking dinners at work is hard cause all we got is a microwave :)

Still waitng for the scales to get here so i can get a detailed idea of how much i actually weigh

You sound like your really motivated :) Yeah, it would be nice to know your weight before ya get into it, but eh. Gotta start somewhere, right? Anyways, have a great day, good food, and lots of exercise :D

talk to ya later!

Thanks for the encouragement :)

ahhh:confused:

I got some scales with a max weight of 23 1/2 stone & i exceeded them:eek: (come up with some wierd `Err` sign) well that did kinda shocked me, i certainly don't look like i weight 24st (Due to my height i guess) i mean i don't look skinny but... haha i'd cry if i wasn't so nonchalance :p

Well, not that it changes anything... The diet still remains. guess i have to get another set of scales though:rolleyes:

Don't let it discourage you! Keep up your dieting and exercise, and in a few days or a week or so, try it again...

I won't ^_^ it continues.

I'm stumped at what to have today, i've just had a bowel of Fruit & Fibre again, + some Semi-skimmed (Switching to skimmed soon) I'm gonna pop to tyhe shop soon, see what they have that i might have for lunch... As for dinner, hmm, i'm not sure... I'm still limited to microwave food. (My shift = 4 days on 4 days off continually 12 hour shifts so i might end up having lunch at work too)

Yesterdays i stuck to everything to thefull, only got about 4 pints of water in though:mad: also had half a punnet of rasberries, i'm pretty sure that isn't really cheating

Fruit & Fibre (Breakfast)
Ham Salad Pita x 2 (Lunch)
Tuna, rice & sweetcorn (Had like 20 mins beforwe work & all i had at hand was rice & tuna again)

t'was what i had yesterday. it is a far cr from what i uised to have.:)

I can't ever figure out what to eat either.:) I do look around at what other people are eating on here and cheat off them

Sounds like you got it made up in your mind that you are going to do this so bravo to you!

I'm honestly not sure there's a real good reason to switch to skim milk if you are enjoying the semi-skim - just watch your portion sizes... I've often found that when I substitute the lower fat variety of something, I need more of it to get the same satisfaction level... and it ends up being virtually no calorie savings. Fat isnt totally evil - a litte bit wont kill you...

My main example of this is with cheese - I find low fat and fat free cheeses to be bland, flavorless and textureless - the full fat variety has way more flavor and better texture so I need less of it to satisfy.

I'm not bothered about the skimmed or semi-skimmed milk, tbh the difference in taste is negligable to me. But i do get what you mean, i'm the same way with other things like biscuits & certain steaks. Not that i'm ever gonna indulge in biscuits, they are deceptive little bastards.

Yeah i think I might do that, There are probbaly loads of ideas i haven't checked out... Though it's my day off today so i'm gonna have fish & something:)

Missed a day, of posting anyway, stuck to my diet i `think`

On friday i had:

Breakfast: Fruit & Fibre (I find it very filling, i'd imagine the mixed stuff in it are good nutrients to)
Lunch: a small naan bread thing with 3 small pieces of spiced chicken (I believe it all worked out to about 360 calories altogether.
Dinner: Chicken & salad - I'm never having that again, i thought it was awful:mad:

& Saturday:

Breakfast: Fruit & Fibre, uhh again (skimmed milk this time)
Lunch: I didn't actually have anything. Well, i had this tiny bag of fruit coated in Yogurt (sp?) or something. (The bag was 125 cal)
Dinner: I had a (In pita bread) which is just so goddam delicious :D

---

As for today i'll probably start off with F & F again, i'll be having fish with something (dunno what that something is though) not to sure about lunch either, but i'll look around the site some more. Also due to it being my 4 days off i'll be taking the dog for some good 1 - 2 hour walks. I know walking isn't really much of exercise bt i'd like a right wanka running around... i know it :(

Yesterday i had chicken, peas & quite a bit of mash potatoes for breakfast. (Woke up at 5pm, dinner was already ready, sadly.) I made up for the slight excess of mash by not having an actual lunch (Just a piece of fruit) & i had a breakfast before i went to bed (Still totalled about 1500 - 1700 calories for the day though)

Today i did have fish which didn't go down to well (I don't think i cooked it propperly) also had new potatoes with it (Those tiny ones you get in a tin) breakfast was some shreddies & lunch was a single turkey slice in a pita x 2.

Went well throughout, took the doog for an hour & a half walk yesteraday & an hour walk today. I know it's not much exercise, but it's better than nothing right?:)

hi pokey!

i seem to be in the same situation. I'm not actually following a diet, just trying to eat healthier and get more active!
sounds like you're doing great so far- wish I could say the same, ha ha

goodluck!!

Hi starryeyed
I have already done so many diets during the last years and I am really tired of it. Especially if that means to do without my favored chocolate chip cookies. But nevertheless I tried to eat less every day and to lose some weight too!
So you said that you were not following a strict diet and that you were trying to eat healthier. You will probably to some more sports as well. So have you been successful so far?

I haven't a clue:

well, while i'm here, today i had fruit & fibre again... a crapload of water, 2 breasts of shredded chicken in a pita (god i've had tons of pita these days) & before i'm off to bed i'll probably have a salad sandwich

@Starryeyed:

Yeah it's not a counting cal diet etc, it's more of a general replacement of what i eat, & no snacking outside of meals. (not that it's a bad thing, just choosing to not do it) The amount i'm eating isn't the amount i should though. For example anavarage bowel of cereal is like 40g with 125 mil of milk, where-as that to me is pretty much ****all, i have about 70/80g per bowel & a bit more milk than that (Skimmed though) it works out to about 400 cal, but i've had a quick check out & i'm still hitting between 1,300 to 1,900 a day

so far... hmm... I'll have to get back to you on that, pokey (hee hee). I can at least say that this far, I have cut down from what I was doing before, and I'm starting to cook more of my own meals rather than go out to eat, or order in.
I've done programs too, I did weightwatchers, but it just didn't seem to click with me this time, so I'm trying it on my own :) you should go over to the challenges area and sign up for the November... (i forget what it's called) but you aim to lose 2lbs a week, and each week you report in with your weight. I think that'll help me immensely. Have you been able to drink 8 glasses of water a day yet?
have a good one!

I'd need to know my actual wait before i can actually see if i'm losing any weight at all first :p my scales suck. & no not yet, i just can't stomach 8 pints haha

Hi Pokey86,
but are you really full having eaten only a bow of cearel? Maybe you are satisfied for the moment, but won't you be hungry again in one or two hours?

@ starreyed
So everything you do is cooking your own meals and drink lots of water a day? And with this program you usually lose 2lbs a week? That is unbelievable!

I don't know if i'm losing 2lb a week. tbh i don't even know if i'm losing any weight:rotflmao: i've just cut out a great deal of crap, like ordering out, chips, chocolate etc... What i used to eat was diabolical, i could eat 2 400g bars of chocolate in a day, maybe 2 litres of coke daily, a full dinner & a kind of large lunch. But that's only due to me not controlling my intake & following my heart (OR mouth) when it came to food. I will have to get another set of scales though. It sucks not actually knowing if it's working. Only noticable differnce is that my skin isn't as bad as it once was.

---

I didnt have that salad sandwich yesterday but i had a crapload of satsumas (Like 3) instead which i think isn't a bad trade-off

Year that is right, losing 2lb a week is great. That is actually unbelievable, because I don't think it is normal to lose so much weight in a week, is it? Maybe your scale is really broken. You should definitely use someone else's scale or buy a new one! But having said that you have eaten so much biabolical food before and now you are changing your whole nourishment, maybe it is really possible to lose so much weight. I am not a doctor either :)

Haven't updated in a while... but i have been sticking... Actually came up to my first challenge today (Well, yesterday)

For the past few days my diet has consisted of Fruit & Fibre in the mornings, lunch has varied from Chicken Tikka Pita's to Salad & Sweetcorn Sandwiches. Dinners have been chicken & rice one day & a single medium jacket potato with a small tin of beans & a small amount of cheese. Snacks for each of the days has been a muller yoghurt (Proclaimed to have 95 cal & next to no fat per pot, if the labels on the sides are to be believed)

It was my mums birthday 2 days ago & some people got her a massive cake which she brought hom (As cakes go it's rather big :p) God i was so tempted to have some, never has food been so alouring to me but now it hit me like Hammer to the face. However i perseveered. Only thing is, that cake is now in our fridge & in that fridge it will stay until it's dying day. Bah! who'd have thought things would smell so damn good now (Never noticed it before)

Outside of that, i'm definately gonna have beans, cheese & a Jacket for dinner tomorrow, i absolutely loved it as dinner last night. Gotta change my breakfast now as i've ran out of F & F so i might revert on to weetabix. Lunch will be half a birthday cake...

Fine :( it'll be salad pitas
