Recommendations for how to exercise with elastic bands?

Hi. I want to develop a good exercise routine that involves lots of use of elastic bands. I want to use elastic bands for resistance because it's more convenient to exercise at home and cheaper than having a gym membership, but it would be expensive and take up too much room for my to own a lot of equipment like machines and weights. I think elastic bands would be a good compromise between practicality and the need for resistance training.

I've been looking online at techniques and resources to teach me how to exercise with elastic bands but I still don't think I have a very good grasp of the best ways to get a full body workout using elastic bands, what forms to use, or what books and/or dvds could teach me. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I would like to increase my speed and endurance in my legs and I also need some strength training. I assume there are different types of bands for different workouts for different parts of the body, but most sales listings for kinetic bands don't specify what type they are very well. Just look at the listings at myosource.com. It doesn't even describe what part of the body the bands are for. How would I know if they were bands for arms or for legs for example? I'm very inexperienced at anything athletic because I don't exercise. I'm trying to learn more about the best ways for me to exercise before I start exercising, though, so I can design a better workout plan.
