Rebecca's diary

Just started doing a healthy journey scrapbook. I've started a list at the beginning of the book called 100 ways to be healthy. I've cut out and stuck on letters and pictures and drawn pictures of my own. I hope for it to be a place to write all the things I've learnt from my journey into living a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically.

Sounds like another good plan to me. Writing in a diary is very therapeutic & good to look back on. You can put in your reasons for wanting to be slim & healthy etc, what you like about yourself, what you would like to change etc. I used to go back & re-read some of my diary occasionally. It makes me realise how far I have come. Cheers, Cate.

This spam stuff is a bit annoying isn't it! You think someone has responded to something you've said and then it's just spam. :(

It's very annoying Rebecca. I report it whenever I see it. Our Mods do well to remove most of it. It must drive them bananas!
How are you going?

Coping reasonably well with the last of the summer holidays. Kids go back to school/pre school on Thursday. And I'm very much looking forward to my term time routine!! I've pretty much stayed the same weight over the summer holidays which is good in a way. At least I've not gained the few pounds I'd lost back! How do you report the spam?

Staying the same while the kids are on holidays is a win :D
You report spam by clicking on the little triangle at the bottom of the post. I have done this already for this one. If it doesn't disappear soon you could do so as well. The mods are really efficient at getting rid of it.

Scapbook sounds like a great idea. Might want to be sure to keep it out of the reach of the 3 year old. The 7yo might be a good helper to create a few pages.

Oh yes. I have to keep a lot out of the way of my little one! I've put the book in a zip up bag with two pencil cases with pens/pencils and felt tips (I love stationery a bit too much!) so I can do the book if I have a spare moment but can whip it out of danger in a moment's notice! My 7 year old has helped by colouring in a few bits and thinking of healthy things to go in the 100 ways to be healthy section I started at the beginning. I'm only at number 9 but I'm doing pictures at the side and colouring in so it's more interesting but it is taking ages. At least it'll be a project to get my teeth into!

Today's been going very nicely so far. I've had breakfast of cornflakes banana and milk. Lunch of chopped up beetroot, carrots, avocado, celery, walnuts, sunflower seeds, a corncake and a cup of soup. Snack was pear. I've been keeping myself entertained with knitting, scrapbook, journal, piano, guitar, making foccacia bread from a packet, cleaning and tidying etc. So now I'm not far from 5pm which is when I make the evening meal so I'll be on the home staight then. The routine from 5pm is always the same so a good time for healthy habits.

Last day today before school/preschool starts. Today will be filled with final preparations. Yesterday was a reasonably good food day and I hope today will not bring too many stresses. I am soooo looking forward to the term time routine! I will familiarise myself today with what exactly I used to do and when, so I don't get too overwhelmed and behind schedule. Also it's a good opportunity to add extra routines that can iron out any difficulties that have arisen from last time.

Nice work on the planning. Such an important part of the process and easy to overlook especially when a major change like restart of the school year pops up.

I agree with K&D. Planning really helps you feel on top of things. Good thinking Rebecca!

Thanks for your support everyone! It really helps me knowing that there are people willing to listen and share about the inane and less exciting parts of the weight loss journey. :)
I just found out this morning that I weigh different amounts according to where I put the scales in the bathroom![emoji33] my bathroom is a tiny bit slanty but I didn't think it would make that much difference. :( So I've decided to weigh myself right next to the doorway where it is flattest. Oh well at least I've found that out now! :) Thanks again guys. First day of school today so I'd better go get dressed before all hell breaks loose!:)

Today was busy as expected but better busy than bored! Food is nice and on track now. I'm too busy to do anything other than eat what my routine dictates so all I do is make sure my routine is healthy. I should lose weight now over the coming months so I'll keep everyone updated on my progress. Hopefully it won't be long before I dip below the 13st mark! :)

It sounds like your plan is a good one Rebecca. Here's to a slimmer Christmas! :)

Thanks cate. Yes I hope by Christmas I will have lost 7lbs. That's my aim. And trusylver, I definitely do eat when I'm bored. It took me a long time to realise that I was in fact bored. When I'm with my kids full time, I didn't realise I was getting bored. Because you're so busy but it's all for someone else. :)

Here's a confession for you Rebecca- I have never, ever been as bored as I was when I spent 5 whole years home)ie not working) when my sons were born. I nearly went totally crazy. I had to make totally new friends, friends who had small children & baby talk, I so hated baby talk.....I don't think I will start..... I know it was good for them & I don't regret doing it, but.....
I'm aiming for a good loss by Christmas too. A similar loss. We can do this. You have it really want it & be prepared to make some sacrifices. Actually what is most important when you have small children, is don't eat what they won't! LOL. I so hated seeing waste & there was always so much rejected food. No wonder I got so big!
Here's to a slimmer Christmas, xo Cate
