Hello Everyone,
I just signed up for this forum today and hope it brings me lots of support and success! I have been struggling with being overweight all of my life and I just want a change. I want to be able to wear the clothes I see on other girls, I want to feel and look beautiful, I want better self esteem, I want to be more healthy...most importantly, I want all of these things for myself!!!
I have been on so many diets, my most recent is weight watchers, which I really feel has helped but I fell off track when I gained some weight at a weigh in after being sick. My leader was very hard on me and actually made me cry and feel terrible. I was sick to my stomach for 3 days straight and couldn't even keep water down, 2 days after that I weighed in and had a total of 7.4lbs loss. My leader was so happy and amazed, I told her I was very sick a few days prior...but none the less it was a loss. The next week, obviously feeling much better, I went to weigh in and I had a gain of 5.2lbs...she actually made a big deal out of it and made me feel as a failure. When I went home and thought about it, the gain wasn't that bad, in fact I kept 2.2 lbs off which is healthy to lose 1-1.5lbs a week. But because she was so discouraging, I gave up and fell back on the "unhealthy" wagon. So I'm hoping now I can impliment what I learned at weight watchers and instead of going to there meetings, I can find a few friends here to help me on my journey as I will help all of you. I think we all are doing the right thing by coming here and posting and giving/receiving support. I wish you all the best in everything and if we all stick together we can and will get there. Nothing is impossible, if you want it bad enough you will do

Ok so now I'm going to track my food for the day...I have to admit, I am a terrible tracker and in fact I don't do it as often as I should...I think it's just finding the time and being lazy. I will try my hardest to find the few extra mins to track and post so if I fall behind I'm sorry but here goes nothing:

D~ (I'm going out for dinner tonight to celebrate my brother getting accepted in the U.S Marines....I'm so proud of him but don't know yet where we are going, it's his choice...Hopefully I will make a healthy desicion.)
Ok so dinner here it goes...I really don't want to post this! We went to an all you can eat buffet called Golden Corral.
I had a little taste of a bunch of things:
Steak, mashed potatoes w/gravy, baby carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken, salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, hard boiled egg, and thousand island dressing, 2 french fries, Mac and Cheese, Banana cream pudding, swirl ice cream in a cup, 1 rice krispie treat.
OMG...This is terrible! Writing it down looks so much worse then what it really was, I think. I only had like 1 to 2 teaspoons of each thing, except for the steak (yum)

Well on the plus side I drank over a gallon of water today and no diet coke or diet soda at all. YIPPY! Tomorrow will be better!


I want to set a mini goal for myself

CW - 190lbs

By this Halloween 2007 I want to be at 170lbs, that's only 20lbs to loose in a little over 3 months...I can do this!!!

Welcome to WLF. I saw you signed up for the Christmas Cloth's challenge... its a great motivator isn't it?

No one here will treat you the way your leader at weight watchers did. Everyone here is full of advice and very supportive; just wonderful people overall:)

I think you will find that this place helps you lose weight and stay on track rather than going at it alone. There are alot of people here that will help you with your new lifestyle, if you ever feel like you're in a rut. I find it very encouraging to read and post with people who are going through the same thing as me. Finally, a place to go where you're not alone. We are all here to help one another.
 
So yesterday I ruined my good day I was having with dinner. I think that is always my down fall. Dinner is always my biggest meal. I think it's because my boyfriend gets home from work and is starving so I eat whatever he wants to eat. Even though I'm not extremly hungry I will eat just because it looks good or fun. I try to control my portions though but it sometimes doesn't work out.

Well here is today:

B~ (I'm not really hungry this morning so I'm skipping breakfast I know that's not good, but look at what I ate for dinner. Uggghhh...my tummy still hurts):doh:

Don't get too down because of one meal... don't discount the hard work you put in for the rest of the day.

I've put my boyfriend on my meal plan... I don't know if you can get your boyfriend to go along with that... if he wants to eat more than what I cooked for dinner... he's welcomed to after dinner is done and overwith. Its helped me keep myself in check.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the reply Jenna. I think I will try doing that. My boyfriend, Mark, is overweight his self and can really benefit to that. Anything's worth a try...I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Hey B,
Jenna has a grat suggestion, and Mark will only bennefit from it. You are a great cook and you know how to make a great meal that's filling and healthy... and if Shrek, I mean Mark is still hungry then he will have to get up, on his own, and find something by himself. That way you are not having the interaction with the food and so on.
This idea is hard for me because if I do not cook something with alot of calories then I am affraid my man will dissapear on me. He is not over weight at all by any means. Lucky man can eat whatever he wants and it will never affect him cause is is super active.

I'm feeling very tired lately, I think it cause I'll be getting my monthly friend any day now. I went to the gym last night 15 mins on treadmill and 10 mins on obliticals (sp?) and some weights. I felt better after I worked out. I want to do it again today but it's Friday and I'm suppose to go to dinner with a friend. So we will see.

Great job getting to the gym. I love after workout endorphins... they make me feel happy and like I accomplished something.

TOM is such a bummer.

I'm not a huge sushi fan but I do love the raw Tuna... its very yummy!

Ok I will never eat sushi again. I have been sick to my stomach all night. I think I have food poisoning or something. I have the chills and sweating and vomiting. OMG, I feel like crap. I'm just going to try drinking water today cause I can't keep anything down. Yesterday I walked 1.5 miles at the dog park with Mason. This morning even though I'm sick I still walked 1/2 mile with Mason. I'll update later if I eat anything, otherwise I'll pretty much be in bed all day.
 
HI Rebecca, welcome to the forum. Just wanted to pop in to say hi. How old is Mason? I have a 2 year old daughter and I am still struggling to lose my pregnancy weight.
I am sorry about your sushi experience!! I hope you will feel better soon!!
Great job on the gym!! I found doing weights before cardio worked better for me!!

Thanks Hajni for stopping by! I will try your advice about doing weights first before Cardio. It if worked you, it might work for me too :) Mason is a puppy...LOL He's my little picture next to my name :) He's a 17 month old Beagle/Shih Tzu. I absolutely adore him. I have no children but he keeps me going. We live in an apartment so I'm constantly taking him out for walks and we love going to the dog park for about 2 hours every weekend and walk about 5 miles.

:jump: Funny, I am talking about pregnancy weight and Mason is your puppy!He is very cute by the way!!!
Congrats on walking the 3 miles!! Sometimes I think if I had a dog I would get out more often also!!
The trainer at the gym told me to do the weight before the cardio because we are so tired after the cardio we don't put as much effort into the weights and it defeats the purpose. Is it true or not, it seems to work for me!!

So today starts another long week...why can't the weekends be 3 days instead of 2? I really need another day. Well my monthy came yesterday...so nice of her to show up! LOL I have the worst cramps and don't feel motivated to do anything. I'm craving chocolate really bad too. So I'll try my hardest not to give in to my crave! I bought a new scale yesterday. I lost 1 lb already. I know it's only 1 lb but when my little ticker tracker thingy said only 29 more pounds to go it made me feel so much better then seeing 30 more to go. I know I can do this...I want this so bad. I just have to stop giving in to all of these cravings and wants. Today is the day when I control the food and not letting the food control me.

Here is today's daily food:
(I forgot my water bottle today so I'll try to drink as much as I can I think the cups we have at work are 16oz. It just means I'll have to leave my desk more often to fill up. Oh well I'll enjoy the "extra" breaks....LOL)

Today is rainy out and I feel gloomy. I was 30mins late for work today cause I didn't want to get out of bed. I was all cozy and snuggling with Mason. It was hard to leave...I picked up the phone 2 times to call in sick but I didn't...so I'm here sitting at work. Yippy. Got some good news from my doctor today...I had some bloodwork taken and the results where much better. My cholestrol when down 48 points and my liver function which was high the past couple of times is now normal. I have type 2 diabetes and it was really out of control but I'm back controling it again and taking my meds. I actually have been feeling much better. The Dr. wanted to put me on meds for the cholestrol but since I would like to try to get pregnant she said that wouldn't be a good thing. For 1 whole month every day for breakfast I would have Old Fashion Oats Oatmeal and 2 T. of Flax Seed. It worked it lowered my cholestrol. I was proud of myself, so now that I see results with that I will contine to eat that. All I need now is to see some postitive results with the weight loss. If I can get my cholestrol down I can get this weight off. I can't wait!

I plan on working out tonight at the gym...some weights and cardio for 30mins. I'm still starting off slow.

Congrats!! 48 points is huge! You are sooo on the right path!! What great news for some further motivation!!
Did you have a chance to go the gym? let me know how it went!!

So, it's been a few days since my last post. Sorry, I just have been so busy. But I'm doing good, according to the scale...lost another 2.4 lbs So I'm really happy about that :jump: I've just been watching my portion sizes and drinking lots of my water. Plus I started bringing my lunch to work instead of eating fast food everyday. It saves me money and it's healthier when I bring my lunch. I really feel good about everything lately. I'm starting to feel more confident and my self-esteem is very slowly starting to become more postitive. I can't remember the past couple of days what I ate and I don't want to miss out on anything so I'm just going to start fresh today.
