Ready-Set-Go

Newbie

Hello everyone:
This is my first time here. I figured it may be a great way to get motivated about losing weight and stay motivated (or try to) during the process.

I was so busy yesterday that I didnt get a chance to post. I was at the ice rink teaching skating from 9:40 to 1:30...and I actually broke a sweat teaching. I need my skates sharpened.....i wish i was not "old" and could keep in shape.

Let me see if I can remember what I ate...

for breakfast, A protien bar

for snack...a diet coke and banana (hehehe, yes thats true)..this was at the rink

for lunch...a mini whole wheat bagel, a chicken breast and some steamed califlower

for dinner... a protien shake with strawberries, some carrots/green pepper with a little dressing i made out of lite cream cheese..about tblespoon.

oh and i was bad...the hubby wanted to go to amartini bar and smoke a cigar and watch the game...i had a cosmo and then a regular martini..sigh.....i am gonna drink tons of water today..

then i had a chicken wing and another little mini bagle later in the evening..after i should have...argh

so not too bad....

today i have had a mini bagle with a little strawberry jelly (no sugar) and a little yogurt, with priobiotics....

Hi Karebare! You did great at the ice rink, bet you lost a lot of cal. during that time, so having a few treats with hubby should be fine!! I was bad yesterday too, we went to a chinese buffet, and I was good until dessert, had 1/4 cup tap. pudding and 1 fried donut, small one. But then drank a lot of water! It happens, but keep smiling:beerchug: (it's time for our diet rootbeer, lol.) Have a great day!

Just did a 30 minute workout

I didnt drag the treadmill out cuz i didnt feel like putting on my tshoes but i did like 15 minutes of boxing the bag and low impact aerobics (tappnig my foot on my ex ball, or low impact jumping jacks where u step side to side). then i got my exercise ball out and 16 pound hand weights..(i thought they were 10 pounds, but there was 8 pounds on each side) and did an arm workout while sitting on the ball. I did crunches and also put the ball between my back and the wall and did squats...kind of a mini version of the hour workout my trainer does. i think i may go to the mall and walk 1/2 hour.

i sweated pretty good

thanks for the rbeer evee.

i had a protien shake (no strawberries this time) and a cup of butternut squash soup (organic) before i worked out.

Great job Karebare!! Very impressive, it will be shorts and a tank top/bikini for us this summer!! :waving:

That's a good thirty minute workout...way better than me yesterday! I got a ball a few months ago but I cannot get it to inflate.

Keep it up girl!

Good afternoon Karebare! How's it going?! Hope well! It's 44 degrees out and pouring rain here today,:coolgleamA: are you ready for summer yet, I am!

its like 55 here (michigan)

i worked out with my trainer today

had
a bowl of raisin bran and some soy milk for breakfast (sprinkled a few almonds in)

had a protien shake before i worked out with her (1 hour)

and then had a turkey burger on whole wheat bun, some almonds and an apple for lunch

i am off to run errands

I was 182.2 ...last time I weighed in I was 182.6 that was before the holidays...so i basically went through the holidays with no change...so i am ready roll..

thanks for stoppin by peeps

<3 me

I have read that it is, and my You On A diet book prefers soy to cow...I bought the brand Silk, and my hubby claims it has a "taste" to it different than what he drinks...I cant think of the brand..I kind of liked it..its a vanillaie type taste (or so i think)

this is what i found on the web

SOY versus COW'S MILK

Let’s compare 100-gram portions (3.5 ounces) of soymilk vs.
cow’s milk:

Cow’s milk has 61 calories. Soymilk has 33 calories. Cow’s
milk contains 3.34 grams of fat. Soymilk contains 1.91 grams
of fat.

Cow’s milk has 14 milligrams of cholesterol and no dietary
fiber. Soymilk contains 1.3 grams of fiber and has zero
cholesterol.

Cow’s milk contains a full range of amino acids. Soymilk
also contains a full range of amino acids.

Both contain plenty of protein. Cow’s milk actually has one-
half gram more protein than the 100-gram portion of soymilk.

Soymilk contains greater amounts of certain amino acids
including arginine, alanine, aspartic acid, and glycine.

Arginine slows the growth of cancers by strengthening the
immune system. Alanine aids in the metabolism of sugars.
Aspartic acid increases stamina and plays a vital role in
metabolism, acting as an anti-oxidant. Glycine is necessary
for brain and nervous system functioning and muscle/energy
metabolism.

When milk is pasteurized, Vitamins A, C, and D are
destroyed. The same can be said for those vitamins when
soymilk is manufactured. Soymilk does contain more than four
times the amount of thiamin (Vitamin B-1) and nearly twice
the amount of niacin (Vitamin B-3) as does cow's milk.

Soymilk also contains more magnesium, copper, and manganese
than does cow’s milk. In order to absorb calcium, one needs
magnesium. Copper also aids in bone formation. One early
sign of osteoporosis is a deficiency in copper. Soymilk
contains twelve times the amount of copper as does cow’s
milk. Soymilk also contains 42 times the amount of manganese
as does cow’s milk. Manganese is also needed for bone
formation. People with anemia rely upon manganese for iron
storage. Trace amounts of manganese are essential for neural
transmissions, protein metabolism, and many other body
functions.

well today was a pretty good day so far

Biggest Loser on in 10 minutes..I am excited

I had the following:

breakfast bowl of bran/soy milk
mid mornign snack: protien bar
lunch: 2 small slices of my left over whole wheat/veggie pizza
small salad
yogurt
snack: apple, yogurt, tomato juice
dinner: 2/3 cup whole wheat pasta, with veggie burger sauted with various veggies/tomotoes and spices...and brocolli

i have drank about 32 ounces of water.
some tea....and coffee....One 1/2 of bottle diet pop(dang)

Today I had the feeling though that I was just a middle aged woman and could never lose this weight. I think of my grandma, and my aunt and the way they looked and I am seeing my future. I want to be thin so bad and I am trying self affirmations (like in the secret)...saying things like "you are thin and healthy and beautiful"..and trying to picture myself at my ideal weight....its hard when the negative thoughts creep in. I am trying to PUSH them out quickly.

Hi Karebare!!

#1. You are a great person!!!!
#2. Great idea on thinking your way thin, not kidding was just reading an article on that, it works!:beerchug:(diet rootbeers for us)
#3. Thanks for all the time and info. on the soy milk vs. cow's milk, I'm going to try that on Friday when I go grocery shopping, great info!! (Rep. for that!)
Last but not least
REMEMBER take it day by day, laugh and smile, your worth it!!

Woke up this morning...decided I would put the gloves on and do a little boxing...light aerobic. Did maybe 15 minutes of light aerobics and got in the shower

decided to make my protien shake with a 1/2 banana and some frozen unsweetened raspberries...was pretty good.

put on my size 16 jeans..the ones that are more like a 14...they feel snug around the waist..(reminder not to over indulge). My other 16's are big...I am between a 16/14....14 too snug, 16 too big....its okay..I want to get to a 10...

I watched the biggest loser last night. the last few seasons I have had trouble getting into it because its too damn many commercials. But I stuck with it and was bummed that either team brown or yellow had to get kicked off. I felt like the brown team was such a nice couple...I really am going to miss them. but i did feel motivated.

I have 1/2 cup of that whole wheat pasta recipe left. So I took some fresh stir fry veggies and sauteed them this morning in a little Pam...and soy sauce...for my veggie. i left them slightly crunchy as I dont like my veggies soggy...this will be my lunch

thanks for the diet rootbeer evee... :)

try to drop in later.

Karebare

Morning Karebare, Sounds like a great workout. I finally was able to watch The Biggest Loser and was sad that the brown team got voted off, but boy did they look good at their updated picture!! Still rooting for the pink team! I'll check back w/ you later!

i had an apple and some cheese for snack...the cheese outta combat the fiber ;-)

i am hungry though

i am going to make a chicken stirfry tonight

Neat research on the milks. I have never tried soy milk but now I'll have to buy some and give it a shot. I never tried again to get my ball to inflate. We have so much junk in our house...I need to have a garage sale this summer.

It looks like you did great yesterday! Keep it up!

Hey Karebare, yeh he look hot in his after pics! Nice muscles!! Anyways, how are you this morning? Going to go walk on the treadmill for ahile will check in later! Have a great day!

so today i drank a protein shake with some frozen raspberries blended in

i had a probiotic yogurt for snack

i walked about 35 minutes at lunch at the mall
