Ready for Change

Jessie!

Great to see you back! :D

Any activity is better than doing nothing.
How is your first year of teaching going?

Hi Ali!

Hi Brian!

I am indeed back for the moment at least.

First year of teaching has been stressful, but I get more comfortable each week, so its getting better! Sadly, its assessment time and report cards are due so its been REALLY stressfull lately.

I can't really afford a gym quite yet, so i'm just doing my workout tapes for the moment and watching what i eat a bit better.

Speaking of workout tapes... I am thinking I'm gonna go pop one in now.

Yay for small workouts two days in a row!

I forgot how good it feels to workout. I like the feel afterwards where you are tired and sweaty, but you feel good. You feel like you've accomplished something.

YAY!! I just need to turn this back into a habit!

the tired and sweaty feeling is good. I always like being tired from accomplishing something. :)
Dont sweat the report cards- it all gets soooo much easier as you go along. :)

Congrats on the baby Brian!

And I worked out again today! Tic-tac-toe three in a row! I actually found myself antsy to get home from work to pop in a tape today. It was mildly exciting even if I'm sure it will be a one time occurence.

I'm back to counting calories and I'm doing good so far. I need to stop getting on the scale every day though. I forgot how discouraging that gets. I think I'm gonna pick Fridays as weigh in days. That way my weekends don't really get in my way.

I'm really excited about this. I think I'm in the right place for this mentally now. I just love how I keep giving myself pep talks to get me through! LOL!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Jess!

I am happy to hear that the teaching is getting better, just think, next year you will have done this already so it will be old hat by then.

Back for the moment is better is than not at all. Stick with it, you will get there.

Ok... so I'm putting in my workout DVD right now... the loooong one this time!

Yes, 4 days in a row. I'm so excited! Especially since I have to go without for 3 days. :-( I'm going to visit my sister in Savannah for the long weekend. I will try to get her out walking with me down on River St. or something to at least keep me moving, but come Monday I will be back in the game full swing come hell or high blood pressure!

I'm a huuuuuuuuuuge dork. I have motivational "posters" that I made myself and have posted throughout my apartment. I'm a nerd, but I'm alone down here and I have to have some form of accountability or I will lose interest down the road.

Workout time! Then dinner!

I'm back in NC and back in the swing of things.

I did really well this weekend. My calories were good and we did a lot of walking.

I've already run my errands for today and done my workout. Its very exciting.

They are also calling for 2 inches of snow down here tonight, which is SUPER exciting for a midwest girl who misses her snow (but not the blizzards and the subarctic temps they are all getting right now).

My goal stands at 190 by Valentine's day. I still feel that its totally doable. That would put me at my lowest weight since my freshman year of high school. I can do this!

Is that 6 pounds for Valentine's Day? That would be about 1.5 pounds a week which is so doable. That would be so cool to get there.

That is indeed about 6 pounds for Valentine's Day. I'm excited to get there. Not that I'll get to see my Valentine on Valentine's day. Stupid long distance crap...

Thank goodness he graduates in May! I can't wait for him to come down here.

Yet I digress... yay for only 6 pounds to my first new goal!

Yes he is! And I'm so excited. He'll be down here by the end of May!! Only 4 more months of long distance torture!!!

Anyways, we got a snow day today. Yes, a snow day in NC. Two whole inches of snow and the whole city is closed down. I think its HILARIOUS!! Glad my three day weekend has turned into a four day weekend though! YAY!

I got up this morning, ate breakfast, watched the inaguration, worked out, and ate a healthy lunch. I was already prepared for school last night, so I'm just kinda hanging out and relaxing today. The snow is still coming down and it is actually nice to see it without the negative windchills.

Weighed in on Friday at 195.8, making 190 by February 14 entirely doable. I'm so excited to hit that mark and keep on going down.

So I was thinking about posting my starting pictures and pictures from now to help keep myself accountable and give me motivation, but I'm kinda embarrassed. I know that there are people that started at much higher weights than I did, but I'm not sure I have the self confidence to post them.

For those of you that have put up pictures, was it helpful to you at all? Does it act as accountability or a motivator for you?

I did a Hips, Buns, and Thighs dvd today.

Now my butt hurts ::(:

Oh well... it'll be worth it.

Good on calories for the day... kinda nervous for weighing in on Friday, even though I've been really good and consistant this week. Weighing in is just nerve wrecking.

I want to be 190 by Valentines Day soooooooo bad. I'm not sure if I've ever wanted something so incredibly badly! I can almost taste it.

I have yet to post my pics, but I did take some before and intermediate shots. I use them to keep me motivated, but it's for me not the world. Someday, perhaps, I'll be where I want and then I can show the world where I was.

So weighed in today at 194 even. Thats a 1.8 loss for the week. YAY!

AAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDD.... Drumroll please!

I JOINED A GYM TODAY!! WOOHOO

I finally found one that was reasonably priced, offered everything that I wanted, and wasn't a craphole!

I'm so pumped today... not to mention that I turned down Taco Bell (my favorite fast food EVER) today... TWICE! I never do that!

I am so proud of myself. Sooooo happy today! :hurray:

Just got back from my first workout at the new gym! Yay!

I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and another 15 on a stationary bike. I'm only gonna do cardio until I meet with the trainer on Thursday. That way I am properly trained on all the equipment and she'll set up a routine for me. I'm so excited to be put on a personalized routine. And the trainer time is FREE! YAY!

I'm in this to win it this time. It really doesn't matter to me how long it takes. It's a lifestyle anyways... I'll have my ups and downs. But I WILL see they myseterious 150 if it takes me the next 10 years. Hopefully, however, it will only take me one! I really am pumped.
