Reaching For the Dreams....

Hi Xorie

Talking to your horses isn't strange. I think it presents a beautiful image actually. Nice job on resisting the DQ, I literally drive a mile out of the way so I don't have to pass such places! You're doing so well, it's totally inspiring, and everything you do counts. One less tbsp of dressing, one less dessert, sugarfree popsicles...you are on your way! :D

Thanks. Some of the people I know looked at my funny when I said that I talk to horses. ;) And I wish I could drive out of the way of fast food joints, but they're EVERYWHERE! I can't escape! :D!

I used to talk to my horses alot...I had a mare named cece. I found them very relaxing. Usually:)

yeah, horses are extremely relaxing....most of the time...;) Except when they're playing hard to catch, or nipping, or not wanting to be groomed... or breaking out of the crossties. :D

What did your CeCe look like? Ours is a 14.2 hands chestnut with a very small star on her forehead.

she was 15 hands high and a strawberry roan(white with pink skin?) I loved her to peices...when my Mom went through her last of many divorces, my step dad sold her. However he had to reinburse me once we went to court, but I still wasnt able to get her back:(The worse part was that she was in foal from the other horse he also sold so really I lost three:mad:

Just got back from seeing mark.

He was awake when we went in to see him, and was in a good mood. He could talk, but quietly, and was very happy to see us. He was surprised that we would come out on spring break, but we told him he was worth it.

They're in the process of restarting his digestive system, and it's moving along, but not very fast. He's in Radiation treatment now, because his white blood cell count was too low for him to go into chemo again. And, what landed him in the hospital was a bacterial infection that got into his system.

oh, and T2, M2M, and Mal? He laughed when I said that there were crazy old dirty people cheering for him online. So, kudos to you for making him laugh! :)

Lunch was a chili omlette
Snacks were a pear and a banana

Dinner will probably be a turkey sandwich

and I had a scoop of ice cream, but didn't want it all, so I gave the last half of it to my brother. (who can eat anything and not gain weight) :D

I'm glad you got through the visit with smiles and laughter. This does my heart good to hear all this positive news :)

Breakfast: 1.5 bowls of cereal

Going to the horses today for most of the day, so I'll burn lots of calories. :D

Hi Xorie

I'm so happy that your visit cheered Mark up, I knew it would. I just wanted to say great job on your diet...and visiting the horses seems so wonderful! Did you know the person that owns the stables or how did you get a job there? I'm just interested, it sounds really fun. Thanks again for all of your advice ;) Hope you had a good day!

It's actually an equine rescue, and I volunteer there. I have waaaay too much fun there working my butt off. But, as a volunteer, I get to have lessons at a discount price of $10 a lesson, (which is super cheap) As to how I found out about it, well, during dec, they do this "Santa Pony" thing were they put christmas decorated tack on the ponies, the have people get their pictures taken. Its one of their fundraising events, so there was an article in the paper an one of the mini headlines was, "Want a Pony?"

I read that, and was like, heck yes! so naturally I had to read the article and called them up that day saying that I would like to volunteer, and boom. I was a volunteer.:) (after my parents signed a permission slip though cause I'm under 18)

It was really nice out today. The temperature got to 69, and we didn't have to put the horse blankets on everyone tonight, which was really nice. Only light ones for the older horses.

I didn't eat lunch, but I did have some cookie-dough ice cream, and dinner was 2 slices of turkey and a slice of cheese. (I call it a turkey roll) and a pear. I wasn't really hungry today, so that's good. :)

Breakfast: 1 bowl of cereal w/banana :) yum!

Lunch: Turkey Sandwich

And, I'm going to the horses again, so more cals burned. :D AND it's supposed to be 78 degrees here! *pulls out SPF 50 sunblock. :D

Snack: apple

Dinner: chili

Desert: peach yogurt.

It was great today at the horses. I got my Jessie girl all cleaned up (and it took a good bit of work, I can tell you) :) And there was some excitement, as Bucko, a QH gelding, tried to get at CeCe, and knocked down a fence and scraped himself and CeCe up. Nothing serious, but I played "vet" and put an ointment on it to keep infection away. It was fun! :D

anyway, hope every has a great Easter weekend!

wow that sure sounds like fun.
I did want to volenteer for something similar here but it was so far away - as in 30kms :O

Yeah, I was really lucky when I found out about this place. It's only about 10 miles away. :D

Breakfast: eggs

I'm getting a nasty cold, and I can barely talk, so any kind of strenuous exercise is out of the question. I might though, spend some time in the garden, and walking around cosco.

Hope the rest of your weekend goes well!

I'm feeling better, as I can now breath partly out of my nose for most of the day. :D

We went to brunch after mass this morning, and I ordered a European french toast, kid sized, and a side of hashbrowns. I only ate a litte more than half the french toast, and half the hashbrowns. And you know what? I was comfortable. Not stuffed, not still hungry, but comfortably full. And I felt proud at the fact that I could leave stuff on my plate!

Happy Easter Everyone!
