Re: My Naked Life.

Hi there,

Good luck with getting back into it! PCOS is hard but hopefully what you are taking will help and the better diet and exercise might help too! I have endometriosis, the lesser of two evils but that hasn't helped with weight gain. But I have had two operations in the past for it and feel like it is getting better and now I need to get on top of the weight. Loving the format you have going with the goals all listed down the page waiting to be achieved! I've heard Insanity is very very hard but if you stick at it, your fitness improves very quickly so that will be exciting

All the best,

Hehe thanks for the photo comments, I put up some new pics a couple of days ago as well. I don't have much to lose, but I have a goal I'm determined to get to! It's still well within my healthy weight range... plus I have a pretty small frame so should be a little on the lower side anyway. Arhg I'm so frustrated I still can't exercise at the moment... Glad you found something challenging to do!! Don't forget to have a few rest days in there so your body can recover. Good luck on getting to your goal for your cruise!!!

You are so right! If you set yourself up in a routine that fits within your schedule and make it easy to stick to it's so much easier! I got into a very good routine this week and i'm proud of myself, if I stay consistent I have so much more chance of success. Thank you for the encouraging words! You're awesome.

You're welcome, and i'm sure you know your body best, i am just saying you look very good already ! I know you will get to your goal with a good attitude like yours.

Thanks! I am really hoping the medication works! Wow i'm sorry you've had complications with endometriosis, but i'm glad to hear it's getting better. I am going to take a look at your page/diary to see more about you as well.

Insanity is extremely hard, i now understand why it's called INSANITY...it's insane! Lol after 3 mins you are completely drenched in sweat. I can already feel my body getting a little more used to working out after only 3 days ! It feels amazing to work out that hard.

TODAY'S DIARY

11/18/2011

FRIDAY!!

I have been doing insanity for 3 days and I am pretty sore, which must mean, it's working!! Very excited to see my weight on Monday for the challenge.

I have also been eating healthy and made some very easy lifestyle changes this week, i'm proud of myself! I have permanently switched to whole grain wheat bread (100 calories, and TASTES better?!) instead of white. I have stopped drinking soda, and i'm shocked because i don't even really WANT it anymore. We actually have a 12 pack in our fridge and I have only had a half of one this week and didn't even want the rest!

I can really see myself making these changes and sticking to them, and I feel like that's what this is about..It's not a diet, it's a way of life and that's the way it should be viewed. Making small changes each day is actually very easy. I have been eating much less lately as well and concentrating on when i'm actually FULL.

Feeling much better as a person already, i'm just excited to see some more results.

Breakfast today: Carnation instant start breakfast. 160 calories/ 10 g protein

Cereal bar- 100 calories

Lunch: turkey + mozz/provolone+ whole wheat bread+ 1tbsp mayo + 1tsp mustard + tomato slices- DELICIOUS! - 350 calories/ 20 g protein

Green tea- 0 cal

Snack- 1 cup grapes- 112 calories

AI think that's one of the main reasons why people fail or gain back weight after a while, because they see it as a diet and not as a way of life. I hate the word "diet", to me it means doing something for a while than going back to bad habits.

Nice going with insanity, I herd it was an ass kicker and I plan on doing it as well after I finish this round with EA active sports 2. It's my 2nd round with it and I need to change my routine a bit. Was thinking about P90X, but I don't have a place to put a pull up bar, so decided to go with insanity, seeing it doesn't need any extra equipment.

I saw your pics from your vaca, you look amazing! I don't see that you have any weight to lose??? You are such a cute girl by the way!

Today's Diary

11/15

I started insanity (dvd) program today, and it was the most intense workout i have ever had! Not for the weak that's for sure! I am going to be doing it for the whole 60 days, and will be finished right before the cruise at the end of January. I am hoping with it I can lose 25-30 lbs so that I can be under 200, and leave it in the dust by 10 lbs! I want to weigh 185- 190 by the end of the workouts, and then do another round after the cruise for more loss. I am really excited about it and loved the workout today despite almost throwing up from the intensity! I realized again today how depressed I have been and really need to pull myself out of this slump.

I'm going to start weighing in every monday on here, and on the christmas weight loss challenge!

Today my weight is 215lbs

Workout- DAY 1 : 30 mins of the 45 min video VERY INTENSE workout.

Plyometric cardio.

Hoping to do a whole one tomorrow!!!

Hey Amanda! :)

Wanted to stop by and say hello in your diary! :) You're doing awesome!!

I also had thoughts like that all the time about being stuck overweight forever. It can be a hurdle to get by since the changes are soooo gradual. You think even with all the work you're putting in that you're still not seeing results, when in reality, you are changing. I think that's why it's so important to take progress pictures of yourself. It really allows you to see definitively the transformation as it takes place :) Plus, it's great for motivational purposes!

Best of luck with the dvd workout regimen! Kick it's ass and I look forward to your updates! :D

Amanda what the hell woman??? you are doing fricken unreal girly, i am so happy for you. I on the other hand are doing awful:( But monday is my start day so i will let you know how i get on then,

lots of love

Hi!

So excited to see someone else doing Insanity! I just finished week two of P90X and decided to start adding the Insanity in on top of it to get more cardio (since I felt like I was getting stronger with P90X, but not necessarily doing too much fat burning on most of the days.) I remember reading about Insanity and seeing that people said that it was harder than P90X, to which I said pssssh nothing's harder than P90X!! HA! Insanity is... well pretty aptly freakin named! I did the plyo first and seriously had to pull my jaw up off the ground when I realized that whole intro sequence was just the warm up!! I'd never pushed myself harder and it was the warm up?? Dear lord! But it's a great workout and I'm always surprised at how fast those 45 minutes go by -- it's surprisingly fun for an ass kicking :D Plus, it really conditions your cardio super fast! Yesterday I did the cardio/resistance and my bf (who is really slim) joined in for two of the 30 second intervals and then stopped and said, "I seriously don't know how you do that! " I've never been in better shape than him and these videos have really been the key! I'd love to know what you think as you get further into the program and can't wait to see your results! Good luck... and "dig deeper!' ;) hehe

That is for sure, diet isn't a way of life forever, it's more of a temporary change to lose weight and then gain it all back when you start eating bad again...I definitely recommend insanity, it is such a good workout! I heard they also have a new insanity that is a sports version, I think it's even more intense than the first one!

Thanks! =) It is really hard not to feel that way sometimes! I need to take measurements as well because I know that even if you aren't losing lbs, sometimes you lose inches and that would at least help me feel like what i'm doing is paying off. Yeah, so far insanity is INSANE but it feels amazing to be able to know that my body CAN do it. I doubt myself a lot and now I know I shouldn't.

I know! I had to kick my ass into gear! It's end of November and I really want to make my goal for Christmas, it may not happen but at least i can say i'm trying now! Come on girl, you have it in you I know you do! I know your schedule is busy, but just try to make small changes in what you're eating or add things into your routine that you already do. =)

Can't wait to see your updates this week.

I wrote a long post to you, but somehow it all got deleted! I'll try to remember what I said, lol. Insanity is sooo crazy INSANE, but I love how it makes me feel like I can conquer the world after I finish one session. I have been super sick the last 2-3 days so I haven't been doing insanity but the second I feel better i'm going to start the second week. I couldn't believe the warm up's were so hard either, after 3 minutes i'm dripping sweat and can't breathe. Haha. It definitely whips your body in shape because after just 4 of the workouts I started to feel myself doing better than before and keeping up a little easier..I can't wait to see your results as well as my own! I'm so excited.:biggrin:

I have officially lost 11 lbs, and I weigh 209 right now, I decided I want to take pictures every 10 lbs for comparison. So here are the new ones. At the moment I don't have the ones to compare them too, i'm on a different computer.

Thanks, Frogged!!

It's amazing what just 10 lbs can do for self confidence, I'm feeling great already.

Diary
11/29/2011

Well today is the first day back to work since Thanksgiving and not being sick, and my weight as of this morning was 210.5 .

I'm not too down about it though, because i've been weighing every day and my weight seems to fluctuate between 209-211. I was expecting to gain a little back because I lost ALL water weight last week while I was sick. I'm starting the second week of insanity today since I definitely couldn't do it while I was sick. I'm so excited for it, actually. I realized that I am the kind of person who LOVES working out. There's a lot of people I know that completely dread it, but the feeling it gives me is so empowering. I feel like I could be a personal trainer some day.

Even though i'm over this stomach flu, my appetite still hasn't returned and it's hard to force myself to eat anything.. I'll update throughout the day with my foods though.

Breakfast: Instant cappuccino + skim milk -120 cal

(Day 1) Monday, October 17, 2011[/b]

What did I eat Today?[/b]

Cappuccino + skim milk- 120 calories/ 6 g protein

Strawberry fruit and grain bar- 140 calories/2 g protein

TOTAL SO FAR: 260 calories/8 g protein[/b]

Wow ten pounds is awesome! Great job!

By the way, you look much thinner than what you post as your weight. You already look great. Good luck with all of your health endeavors. Unbalanced hormones really can play havoc with a persons weight and health. I've found my own unbalanced hormones to be a challenge.

Thank you! I've heard a lot that I don't look like I weigh over 200 lbs, and I wish that were the truth! I won't be in the 200's for much longer though I'm hoping to be back in the 190's by Christmas! Yeah hormonal imbalance is no joke, causes all kinds of craziness. What kind of problems have you had ?

Oh goodness if I listed them all that might take a while. LOL. Umm, to summarize I've had some gallbladder issues, also problems with all of my hormones, high estrogen at one time, low thyroid, problems with hypoglycemia. I am doing a lot better now than I have in a long time, mostly from researching herbs and supplements that have helped me. There were some setbacks and some mistakes (trying some things that made me feel worse.). So my progress is not just in losing weight, but getting healthier and increasing my ability to do things. The progress has been slow, but I very much appreciate being able to do things that I previously couldn't. The times when my hormones were out of balance I felt depressed easily and my body temp was always cold. Weight loss and exercise were close to impossible. I have read that our diets can help balance or imbalance hormones. I think insulin and blood sugar does have an impact. And foods that help regulate blood sugar tend to give us energy and stamina, like protein, fiber and some spices like turmeric, cinnamon, garlic and quercetin.

It's a good feeling when we know there are things we can do to make ourselves feel better.

Do you feel that the meds they gave you (can't remember what you mentioned at the moment) for the PCOS is helping?

Wow, well I'm really glad you've been able to figure out some things to help balance you out! I definitely feel depressed very easily with the hormone imbalance, and also have very little energy a lot of the time. I also think that the diet has a huge impact on how you feel. When I eat a good amount of protein and lean green veggies, and less sugar it does wonders! I feel like a new person. I will have to try a few of those spices more often and see if there's any changes.

I have been taking the metformin for 3 weeks now and have noticed a change in my energy level, I am more motivated to clean house, leave the house, etc.. I started taking birth control with it and have noticed my cycle is also becoming normal (or at least I have one now)..
