Rah's Diary started May 07

CONGRATULATIONS!!!That is simply wonderful news! Many, many blessings as you enter this new phase of your life!

You are doing great with your WW. I love the freedom of being able to eat whatever I want - just fitting it in with my points for the day. It's great!

Keep up the great work, and be healthy!

Thanks Guys
Im so excited but also so worried at the same time hope i will calm down after the 12 week scan!
Well i had a bit of chocolate last night and i dont think i will be eating it again for a while so theres a good thing to come out of the sickly feeling!

Thank you for your congratulations Sarah I was really shocked to have done so well.

Im going to liverpool John Moores uni to do psychology - Cant wait! moving into student halls on saturday =D

Massive congratulations to you again about being pregnant, your 12 week scan will come around in no time at all. I'm so excited for you!

X

Congrats on the bun in the oven!!

I hope you stop the dieting now--pregnancy is no time to be trying to lose weight..lol. I've just been maintaining during the first trimester. From what I've read, I (being overweight) should only gain between 15-20lbs--and nearly all of it in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. :) But if I remember right, you're a nurse so you probably already know this. :D

Congrats again, and best of luck with the pregnancy. Sounds like you're feeling some morning sickness.

Dieting has stopped healthy eating has begun
If i maintain this tri i will be made up !!! Have started swimming 1ce a week which will help later on (so im told)

Healthy eating is doing its thing! i lost 1lb this week so thats 2 in 2 weeks so those choc chip cookies which i had 3 of (blush) will be ok

Morning sickness better sort its self soon though as i am eating to keep it away and its not going to be good if i keep going like this lol

Sarah

Sorry about the m/s. :( Have you tried the remedies? Ginger, raspberry tea and saltines are supposed to be good. But for some women nothing helps entirely.

You might find that the m/s causes you to lose weight during the first tri--up to 7lbs. So don't worry if that happens. I've been able to maintain my weight so far, so that makes me happy. I'm trying to eat healthily, but I confess I'm no :Angel_anim: lol. I figure as long as I'm getting in good food most of the time, a naughty thing here and there is not going to do any harm. :)

Hi Sarah,

The move went fine thanks =D
Sorry to hear your not feeling too good - it wont be for much longer though im sure.

Have you got your date for you booking scan yet?

Congratulations on the pregnancy. That is really great news.

I hope that you manage to find something to help with the sickness though.

Hey

Sorry not been round for a while but not been on the net much just too tired im in bed by 9 at the mo!

Well im trying to get walking with the dog everyother night for 30 mins and i am also trying to swim at least 2ce a week but its proving harder than i thought with the sickness i was hoping to of found a mirical cure by now but no i have just got the ginger nuts from asda so will be trying them shortly even though i HATE ginger if it works i dont care
I have gained about 2lb from my start weight of 205 so now 207 which i can live with as i know where its come from

I had a scan at 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat which was fab and the next scan at 13 weeks is on 4th Nov so not long to wait now (although seams like forever away)

Sarah

Oooo you had a scan! I know at 7 weeks theres not much to see exept a little jelly bean but you saw a heartbeat so thats excelent. Your next scan will come round soon enough!

Thank you for the post in my diary - it has been a bit easier to diet so far this week now that freshers is over, although all my flatmates (non of them are from Liverpool) want to go out every single night anyway! Im having a night in tonight though, I have started getting a bit of work now so I need to get focused on that.

I hope the sickness wears off soon, I think a 2lb gain is quite reasonable at this stage - its especially difficult to eat healthy when your not feeling too well. Good job still getting a bit of excercise in though =D

Isn't that cool hearing the heartbeat? I was totally geeked to hear it the first time. Here in the U.S. the OBs don't usually see you until the 12th week, so that is when they first picked up the hearbeat with a monitor.

As long as you are exercising and eating well, I wouldn't worry about the weight gain. Well done on all that--especially since you've had ms so bad. :)

normally the scan is at 12 weeks here as well but because of the pains i was getting they decided to scan to check it was etopic (spelling?)
But it was great i lay there trying to see the monitor properly just watching this tiny dot flash on and off was amazing

So just been to see a midwife to book in taking all family history ect did the weight and height and because my BMI is over 30 im hight risk and under a consultant i cant stop crying hormones i think but i am devestated
i know i shouldnt diet but i am going to eat extra healthy and carry on with WW as long as im eating properly and all the right foods there cant be a problem can there?
Just so upset

Sarah do not worry about having your BMI over 30 - there are women much bigger than you that have perfectly healthy babies all the time and being under a consultant just means they keep an eye on you - lots of women have consultant care for many different reasons, some even request it!

As long as you are eating healthily then it shouldn't be a problem. One thing my GP always used to say in favour of weight watchers over slimming world was that the diet plan is fairly balanced - in terms of food groups.

You have pleantly of time to lose weight after the baby is born, for now you just need to try to relax (easy for me to say I know) and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy =)

Take care X

Well, you're not alone in being over 30bmi and preggers. Count me in. :) Plus I have the double whammy of being over age 35. But so far no one has mentioned it being a problem. There are tons of overweight women having perfectly healthy babies--I know of several. So don't stress it, honey. :hug2:

The only risks that are involved is a greater chance of getting gestational diabetes and toxemia, pre-eclampsyia, large baby. Sounds scary, but if we eat right, exercise and keep an eye on the scale, we should be ok. Don't be too upset, but I know how those hormones are..lol. I've been a raging lunatic lately..lol. Just read my diary. :D

As long as you're getting in 1800-2000 cals per day you should be fine, and make sure you're getting at least 1200mg of calcium per day and 30mg of iron.

Cheer up! Chances are everything will be fine and you'll have a sweet little bundle of joy in 6 months or so. :)
