Rah's Diary started May 07

HIYA

Well i am having a great week i have planned what we are having and we have stuck to it.
I have been taking salads and pasta into work and i have even had a chocolate bar!! but hay i was good i had fewer calories due to the salad and i have been exercising so i didnt see the harm as long as it is 1 maybe 2 a week and i keep up the gym and the healthy eating.

i have noticed a difference again this week running up stairs in work and i think i havent stopped walking all shift and refused to eat all the 'Thank you' chocolate, cakes etc which patients have brought in where i would of normally ate a good few but i got my strawberries and melon and ate them over the shift instead i feel really good for it

Ive started almost running up stairs ... a few weeks ago I was running up the stairs ... great going! You Go Girl!
That is awesome .. I know how it can feel ...conquering the stairs ...just making a MAD dash up the stairs and pivot your body wherever your going ... Good for you! Keep it up! and probably sneaking a candy bar in once a week would be fine ... :) as long as you kept your activity level up ...

Well weigh day was yesterday and I lost 1.9lb so I classed it as 2lb as Im only working with whole numbers (this may change at a later date)

Im glad but a little dissapointed that I didnt hit 200 but that gives me this weeks target as getting into the 190's hoping for 199 or 198.

Im going the gym in an hour going with my friend so I know I will have a good workout as she is really fit and healthy so I will need to work extra hard so I dont show myself up. Which I guess is what i need, i am also planning on going tue and thurs with her as well so I should be on target!

I keep looking at the camera and sorting my before pics out so I can see a difference and also use them as motivation, but too embarassed something I will have to build up to and sooner rather than later so I can see the full change, I found my tape measure so the measuring will begin today.

Hi Rah,

Just wanted to say hello to a fellow Brit. 1.9 down in a week is really great. You might as well call it 2lbs and that's 7000 calories you've busted through which is wonderful. Keep going

Ok so just got back from the gym
did a good 30min cardio and 20min swim so feeling really good at the mo going to have extra veg with my dinner tonight.

I did my measurements and i found some i did before i started and there has been losseson my legs and arms none on my stomach though so bit disappointed

Just another thing to aim for!

Don't be disappointed - it'll come. I don't know if this applies for you but most people lose weight first off the bit they gained on last. If you're prone to putting weight on your stomach it'll hang out there for longer. I know I'm really pushing it when I put weight on my stomach because it's the last thing to go. Flabby thighs on the otherhand, well, that's been a pretty much permanent state of affairs for the last 20 years!

Well done on the exercise. I meant to do a 1/2 hour stint at 5pm but got side tracked by here and now I'm hungry. I'm rubbish at exercise.
 
Well been a good week so far i know its only tuesday but im very postitve.

Monday
Whole meal barm with chicken (no spread etc)
10 Strawberries and 1/5th melon
Chicken pasta bake

Tuesday
Salad, with chicken
10 Strawberries and 1/5th melon
Sausage (97% fat free) lean bacon, (both cooked on george forman) beans and scrambled egg

I know breakfast is missing but not getting out of bed in time to have some and get to work on time been very tired this week

Tomorrow
Whole meal barm with ham (no spread etc)
jacket potato, pork, veg

I have done my exercise video 1ce and sundays gym session counts for this week i will also be going tomorrow after work for a good hours cardio workout and may do some arm weights

i want to have a sneaky peek at the scales but i will restrain till saturday morning
 
So was having a bit of a heart to heart with hubby last night about anything and everything (wont bore you with info) But he decided that its not fair that i am trying so hard and he keeps bringing temptation into the house so he has decided he will eat the same as me so no one jacket for me chips for him!

Im so glad should make it easier if he is with me 100% i did say he can eat what he wants in work though

Boy you are really doing great. When i swim, I feel like I get a great work out because you use all your musgles.............if you know what I mean.

Where in the uk do you live? I spent 6 months in Scotland once. I was all geeked out because of course i am a McPherson so its like I went back to my roots. Ha Ha. But I really love the British Isles and can't wait to take my 14 year old son there as he is really into it too. :) Hopefully, I will be in good shape by that time. )Next summer?)

What are you studing? I have come on just lately to this site so maybe you have allready said as much. My typing is bad too.:eek:

Anyhoo, you are really doing it!!!!! I remember putting on the weight in school too bacause of stres eating. then of course, it was the kids then it was the divorce, then it was the new marriage etc............if I wasn't so ative, god knows.......ha ha.

Have a good healthy atice weekend. I will be in Chicago myself so I hope I can control myself. take care :)
 
HI thanks for your posts guys it really helps
I am a student nurse and have 12 weeks left of my course so thats 12 weeks till i see everyone again after placement so i will have to work extra hard and look fab at my graduation ball

Im so glad hubby had decided to help me out i feel there will be no stopping me now as he will keep up the motivation and stop me buying rubbish when im food shopping.

Didnt weigh in this weekend was away with the in-laws so kind of glad i have a week till weigh in i try and try to be good but they dont understand and all the temptation they bring sweets cakes etc etc
But all back to normal tomorrow got my salad for lunch time and we are going to do the weekly plan and only buy what we need so we can swap the days around but will have nothing in which will be bad and hinder our progress i say our but its my progress hubby doesnt need to loose weight at all but will make him feel better and im not complaining!!!

Turkey on wholemeal barm
Melon and strawberries
Dinner
Pork, brocolli and carrots

no exercise today as its W/A and i have hurt my knee running on the sand over the weekend well if you can call it running

That is awesome you did a run on the beach ..too bad you strained yourself... but that is awesome! Your doing so good!
I would love to be capable of running on the beach, I just started doing sprints in my back yard.

Keep treacking, but it is good to take a break after straining yourself. But it is hard to run though the sand, so that is awesome you did it and could!

It was a jog really but i did run for a few bits of it (not very long though but building it up)
Today i am going to do my fitness dvd its split into 3 sections legs, arms and tums so will miss out the legs bit and get back to the gym tomorrow and start the walk on the treadmill

Todays menu is
B'fast
Natural yogurt with pinapple
Lunch
Chicken, bacon and pasta bake (from asda not perfected my pasta cooking yet)
Dinner
ham salad
strawberries and banana
Im on a late shift today so thats why my meals are a bit backwards!

Really positive that i will be below 200lbs on saturday just got to keep going!

No seriously, I like the way you plan out your eating. Does it help? Jogging is a great cal burner but I've never been able to pull it off. You are really doing well. Good luck on making your below 200 goal mark!!! :rotflmao: karen
 
lol no we dont have 4th july celebrations just another boring day for us!!

I find if i plan the week's meals so i know what i will be having it helps loads.
I only buy things i will be eating that week so there is less temptation to be bad as i will have to make a special trip to asda for it.
I also swap days round if i dont feel like something e.g. swap mondays chicken with fridays pasta
Works really well for me

Banana, 1/2 slice wholemeal toast (was thick slice so only had half)

Wholemeal barm with ham
Dinner
Lamb steak with carrots brocolli and peas and a bit of gravy i think

awww come on you guys don't celebrate the day we dumped all that fancy tea in boston harbor, said we're outta here and kicked your red coated butts :)

ah - just an excuse to blow things up and eat burgers and drink beer :) ya'll should have such a holiday :D
 
We did burn the white house before we left though but i dont think it would be right to celebrate the english beating the english (techniqually)

Anyway thats that for another year!

Jacket potato with cheese (30g) and beans

So its the weigh in tomorrow and i will see if i get below that 200 mark i am hoping so then my final target wont see so far away i have the right number at the start!!!

Hi

I feel really down today and not sure why
I feel fat, ugly, disgusted with myself
I keep thinking my hubby doesnt love me because im so horribe he keeps telling me im being sill and he loves me and i know he does and i probably am being silly but i cant help it
I just feel like crying at the mo and nothing has happened to make me want to

today i have eaten a roast dinner
Lamb, peas, carrots, brocolli, 2 small potatos (bolied then sprayed with frylight and cooked in oven) and a bit of gravy

Sorry nothing more to day and its not a very happy post

Ok so feeling a bit better today
new week new start
i will be making a plan for the weeks meals today but i am on nights this week so should be easier for me as theres no chance of me picking im asleep during the day and i never feel like eating during the night feels wrong
So i eat my main meal when i wake up and have something light before i go to bed

Well i didnt loose this week but i didnt put on either so thats good but this week i will get below 200lb! i will i will i will
