I've been a member for one month, YAY!

Today's cals: 1623 (didn't have breakfast because I slept in.)

Exercise: Hour and a half (30 mins cardio, hour other stuffs)

Finals: none today, but studying like crazy.
 
Had a cheese and cracker snack and I'm at 1860 for cals now. I'll have some fruit or maybe some veggies with dip before bed.
 
Just did my exercise. Leaving the dorms tomorrow for the holidays, so I will have to change my routine.. plus I have my surgery in exactly a week. I am trying to vary my eating patterns so that once I get my surgery, I don't put back on the weight (although I haven't lost a lot).

Cals today were supposedly 1442, but that can't be right. I must have miscalculated something (ate different foods than normal today because I wasn't eating in the dorms) Probably have some fruit before I go to bed just for a few more cals.. I don't like looking at a number that low.

Soooooo I really am wondering how accurately I am measuring these.. especially my stomach. My posture has changed... so my back has changed and it's difficult to keep the tape measurer on my lower back while I measure my circumference around my tummy! I think my arms and legs are really off too... so that's annoying because I just don't feel like I get my tape measurer in the same places every time.

Sucks that numbers go up and down, but it makes sense that it would do the same as the scale... with the muscle and certain days. It's still annoying, though!

Todays cals: No idea. I wish I had a diet tracker where I could guess Chinese food because I went out to lunch today and had that. Everything else I ate added up to about 1200... but I am thinking I probably ate more than 800 cals when I ate my Chinese... gotta love my crab wantons. They are the death of me. Seriously.

Exercise: Back at my parent's house, so I don't have the elliptical anymore. I have my surgery in less than a week, so I'm trying to be extra good to my knee in the mean time. I went easy on the treadmill today... just a fast walk with an occasional jog for half an hour.. did only a couple free weight things and some crunches/leg lifts/stretching. I thought about getting a gym membership so I could keep up my normal routine, but as I am going to not be able to walk really next week, it seemed rather pointless.

Water: 80 floz so far and I'm going to finish another 32 oz bottle before I get to bed tonight :)

Hardest part of today: Turning down spaghetti and GARLIC BREAD. I know things are okay in proportions, but after splurging on lunch, I kind of knew I had already blown my day and would have splurged for dinner too. I can't do that... so I made a sandwich and had an apple sauce! I felt much better about my day after the exercise and lighter type dinner.

I think I've probably written enough for now.

Today's cals were 1920. It's nice preparing my own food from my own fridge with labels and measuring spoons as opposed to the dorms where everything is a guess. Really nice.

Exercise: 30 mins on treadmill, but only two miles as I had to walk for over half of it due to my knee. Few exercises and stretching = a total of a little over an hour in all.

Tomorrow I am going to have a consultation or whatever it is with the person doing my knee surgery this coming Friday. I am going to ask him what types of exercises I can be expecting to do afterwards and how soon I will be able to do these things.

I figured that as I usually exercise about 200 to 300 cals off a day (really rough estimate) that I will try to cut that many cals a day from my diet during my period of no exercise so that I at least don't gain anything. That is going to be so difficult it being Christmas and me being basically stuck in a chair. I picked out a beginning yoga kit that I am going to be getting for Christmas.. and I'm looking for a belly dancing video workout.. so if anyone knows of one or a good place to look, let me know. I am going to look at target and places like that tomorrow.

Exercise.. none unless you count shopping, but I pretty much knew what I was getting people so I didn't just stroll through the mall much.

Water: Definately not enough.. 60oz. I'll have more before going to bed.

Saw my boyfriend today and went to I Am Legend, which was a good movie.. so that was fun. I'm so jealous that he lost his belly already without even really trying. Stupid boy. *Jealous*
 
Cals today were 1422 and I've been snacking a bit.. I'll have a scoop of ice cream later or something.

Exercise wasn't a lot because my knee is acting really weird and I don't want to dislocate it before I go in for my surgery this Friday.

I'm really lonely lately. My boyfriend works two jobs, so the most time I'll get to spend with him is an hour or so at night watching a movie while he falls asleep.. I have never gotten along with my parents well (bad family depression, long stories, etc.) so I've been staying in my room most of the time, and most of my college friends are in their hometowns for the break.. while I've drifted away from my high school friends by now. It's been a rough few days.

Hmm will c if that happens!!! Don’t worry about the exercise too much. as long as you are moving around as much as your body can take its fine. People have lost weight with just walking. Why don’t you walk outside. Get out of the house and walk around the block a few times???

Boys do lose weight more quickly than girls. It is soooo annoying. Why that is I have no idea? Lol!!

i know i riht random things everywhere. sori. i jus type as i think thats why all out of place.

Hehe, I actually did do a two mile walk yesterday outside with my dog. It's kind of touch and go with that, though.. living in Montana it is REALLY cold and my parent's house is out of town, so there really aren't a lot of sheltered places to go walk like there would be with houses and buildings everywhere.

I just want to kick the stupid boys, haha. Although I guess that may be a general assumption. He was actually jealous of the time I was spending working out, so he went and got a gym pass... so it's not like he even really had the beginning motivation. :banghead: Oh well, I'm still very happy for him.

Good luck getting in touch with your old friends! That's a great resolution :)
 

yep lol great resolution if i do it. not so great if i get lazy and think dont bother. will c wot happens. im kinda putting everything of until i finish my degree this year apart from the weight loss. that has to get done by the time i finish. hehe.

2 miles is amazing!! how often do you excercise? because i can hardly ever do more than 3 times a week.

so do you like live near mountains and that?? sori im rubbish with places ;-)

boys seem to lose faster than boys. summit to so with metabolism i think. i suppose its not how quickly u lose it. its just wether you lose it or not and if it stays off. ive nearly been at this for a month and have onli lost 3 lbs. just as long as it carries on.

I was going to take a picture of the mountains for you, but when I looked outside, it was snowing hahah. I actually live in a valley, so there are mountains completely surrounding us.

I've been going for a little over a month.. probably about a month and a week or so and I've lost about 8... depending on when I weigh myself. I try to exercise 5 to 6 times a week and I usually make it. It makes me feel so good when I do.

I attached a photo that you can sort of see where I went walking.. starting at the top of the driveway, down on the road, and around a little road... then reverse on the same path is a two mile plus a little bit walk.

Im becoming a primary school teacher! cant wait to start teaching! i finish on June 20th. not bad but have so much work to get done before then.

your view must be amazing! all i see when i look outside is houses. rows and rows of houses!! gets annoying sometimes. the walking route looks amazing. to get 2 miles of walking i have to do about 15 laps of the park near my house. soo repetetive and boring!!

8 pounds in a month is soo good. im hoping for 4 lol! as long as i get 1lb a week im happy! maybe i need to excercise a bit more to lose more!

Well my weight is higher than yours.. so I would assume it may be easier for my body to shed the pounds right now.

I'm in education too :) music ed, though. It's quite a different atmosphere learning how to teach instead of just well.. doing math and stuff like that. I love it.

The view at my parent's house is really nice, yeah. When I'm at the dorms, I still get a nice big tree outside my window, so I don't have to stare at some building's wall and that is nice. I'll sometimes walk from the dorms to downtown.. it's nicer than simply just walking around in circles. I find that having a destination is really a more exciting way to get exercise.

hmmm might be that or might be that i just don't stick to my plan as well as you do.

you are sooo right i love teaching. i want too keen on studying though. its funny how all the kids say the same things we used to say when we wer in their place!

we've got a million trees on our street ut at this time of the year thers leaves everywhere which isn't very nice!!

i agree with you. i did 15 laps of the park and it was boring. good job i had walking buddies to talk to otherwise i would have just given up.

Sticking to the plan is just something to get used to.. I've tried countless times before in life, but I think (hope) I've hit the jackpot this time!

Leaves are the best! I don't know what you are talking about. Is there anywhere in your town you can walk to? Maybe walk downtown or something and go window shopping and whatnot.. make it fun.

i can do that but i get to walk after its dark (4:00) and i like to stay close to home where i know everyone and everyone knows me. im a bit ov a scaredy cat like that!!! the park is at the bottom of my street.

So cals today were 2017. Yay. I am having a little bite to eat and a bunch more water right now because I a not allowed to eat after ten o'clock tonight because of my surgery tomorrow.

Exercise today was a three mile walk on the treadmill (can't run because of the knee) and some situps/weights.
 
Good luck with the surgery today... (put a great big NO on your good knee - just so they don't get confused -- seriously a colleague was told to do this recently when he had knee surgery... :D

Listen to your body and take some time to recover and hurry back here...
