Racking cleans!

So, i've really obsessing over clean form lately after watching Gayles Hatch's boy, Matt Bruce(thanks Karky). Anywho, i've been getting frustrated because i can't seem to get my elbos parallel with the floor. They tend to point to far down. Should i try to change my grip on front squates to a clean grip to help that out? Any recomendations are much appreciated.

no, no, no. They dont have to get parallel. my elbows like cant get parallel to the floor, i just think my arms dont bend that way. The big issue about clean form that you should be more worried about is that u are actually dead lifting the weight so fast up and then DROPPING underneath it. Dont use your back and lift it of the ground then flip it up to ur chest.

well the pull isn't exactly a deadlift, but that's another story.

As long as you can rack it comfortably it is ok, the arms shouldn't be pointing too much down since then you will be holding the bar in your hands instead of letting it rest on your delts. As long as you're not using your arms to hold the weight up there it should be ok :)

yeah, obviously it is not completely different. just don't think of it as a deadlift, since in the deadlift you want to lock the weight out and the pull off the floor is done in such a way as to make you able to lift the most weight, there in the clean the pull off the floor is done in such a way as to get you in a good position for the explosive pull.

Ah, good. i'm not too concerned now. i was getting so pissed the other day trying to keep my elbows parallel when i racked the clean. Everything eles in terms of powercleans are fine. now i don't have to worry my next clean session :) thanks guys
