Rachie's Diary

The last few days have been carb-load and eat to the max so I didn't lose any weight for my first of the month weigh-in. However, I am happy that I haven't increased! I'm just going to settle back in to my eating right and in a deficit. I'm also looking forward to getting back to the weights!

Good for you for planning out the upcoming races - there's nothing like keeping our goals before us!

I can't wait to see you cross that finish line (and I don't mean just those 5-10K-half marathons!) :D

Thanks sunnydee! I know! I am back to the diet today! It's a busy week but gym 4 times and a couple of extra running sessions combined with my diet for the week should help me start dropping again :D

I actually had a pretty slack week in the exercise department. But I'm with you this week - lots of exercise to make sure those lbs keep dropping off! Good luck with it!

So I just signed up for a 5k in mid-May :) Should be interesting. It's not the friendliest course - lots of hard road running up and down hills although the finish line is nice because it's all downhill for the last quarter of a mile! So my training for the next month will be lots of speed sessions and I'll keep my long run of maybe 4-5 miles at the weekend. My goal for this one is to be right at 25 minutes.

I'm also hoping to have dropped some weight by then!!! I am feeling quite slim today and have eaten well so far, a nice big salad loaded with veggies at lunch and some low fat choccy milk. I have an apple as a snack for this afternoon and think I have a granola bar somewhere around here for a snack before I leave work :)

I was thinking the April challenge weigh in is Sunday but I think it's Thursday. So I'll see how I do without weighing for a few days then try and stick to once a week for now.

Hahah - yeah yeah - say what you will lady! I got a little inebriated on some shiraz on Saturday night! It's amazing how quickly I got tipsy after the long race that day :eek:

Hi Sunny! It is soon I know :eek: I am naturally very shy and so to combat that I started making myself doing stuff. I would sign up for things and then HAVE to follow through on them! This means I end up with a lot on my plate!!! I have been working long hours, which I know you understand being at school! I don't have too many classes anymore but I'm generally working 60 hours in the lab every week and that frequently gets upped! Oh well!

It's so nice to have everyone coming into my diary to see me! I am feeling VERY positive right now! You are all doing so well and I have so much support, now I just have to make sure I stick to the healthy eating and exercising! :D

I know I checked out your diary! Great news!! Yay for the scales behaving! I have hidden my diary but feel a bit slimmer myself!! I am not going to weigh until Thursday though! Maybe this will mean I am tough on myself in case I don't see a drop at all!! I don't think it will be very different but any shift downwards is nice!

Hit the gym this morning. Elliptical, rowing and running/walking. Tomorrow will be weights!

I just got my lunch. A big salad which is becoming my routine! Probably need to change it up a bit but I love raw veggies and the salad bar is easy :D Lots of egg white for my protein and the usual low fat chocolate milk!!! I have an apple and a small oatmeal and raisin cookie for snacks! I have just remembered I am supposed to go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant tonight for my friend's birthday... anyone have any ideas for lower calorie Mexican food?

When I go to Acupulco, I order the Dos Fish Tacos, with black beans instead of refried, cilantro rice, no aeoli (cream sauce), no cheese, and I use lemon and salsa to spice it up--then I eat half and take half home to eat an hour or two later.

*don't eat the chips--or have just a few
*no marguiritas--take a shot instead, no chaser ;)
*eat half and box half
*skip the cheese and sour cream
*get enough protein and don't eat too much rice or tortillas

Thanks Curvie and Tammy :) I think I am going to drive so a good excuse not to drink those yummy margaritas! Also I will definitely load up on protein and try and do away with the chips and sour cream or just eat a little (as in very little!!). I was worried because I want to do well this week and don't want to goof up on eating out! I should totally box half too. Portions are always so big in restaurants :) Thanks again!!
 
Good tips, everyone. I usually box half at restaurants too, and save the rest for lunch the following day. It's a great little trick to not overeating. :) Have a wonderful time out with your friends tonight!

I am excited because I bought some patio furniture for my balcony at the weekend :) I can't wait to sit out there at the weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather!
 
Grrrr I hate companies who can't do their job right. I just ordered for my sister and my boyfriend's birthdays. I PAID to have it sent 2-day FedEx/whatever delivery they use. I got an e-mail saying it was sent on Monday - yay! But then when I clicked on the tracking it said USPS! WTF!!! I called the company and the evil wench I spoke to said she'd refund me the difference in money but that it would just come via regular mail. wtf again!?! So now I am at a large university where everything has to have a PO Box - duh I didn't exactly give them that because it was due to come straight to my door! So I now have to wait for the item to go be returned to the company and then come back. It's boyfriend's birthday tomorrow. WTF!!!! I am going to call them back and say it's shit and not good enough. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
