Weekly Weigh In

Didn't have time to post earlier. But I am down to 133lbs! Yay! Thats another pound down :) Going to try running again tomorrow, I was a bit sore today after rolling down the street :eek: Hoping I can make it down to 132lbs for the March 2lb a week challenge :D
 
This week is too long already. Work is a pain in the butt. Boss is pressuring me to do more work but I am already running at max. just ignoring authority and doing what I am doing cause they don't have a problem with the actual work, they just want me to work more hours. Already work way too many!

Snacking on trail mix today. I just realized that the 2.75 oz pack I have, has 160 cals per portion. I didn't realize that 2.75 ounces is 3 portions! arghhhh!!!

So I was just reading this article about the Atkins diet. Personally I think the Atkins diet sucks big time! I know people lose weight on it but I just have a real thing against any diet that limits you so greatly. Anyhoo, this study (found the links through google) shows that people on Atkins actually increased their HDL over 5 years and their blood pressure dropped! So weird and not what I'd expect at all. My only criticism of the article - haven't actually read the original study so don't know if they looked at this - is that they said LDL levels rose but they don't qualify what size LDLs the participants have... LDL density and size are also important for knowing your susceptibility to heart disease. Anyway, an interesting study nonetheless...
 
Okay so I got about a mile in and fell over - what an idiot. I automatically reached out with my hands, before realizing I'd probably break my wrists and rolled onto the grass. So I grazed my hands and got mud up my arm and wrenched my leg as I tried to push myself into my roll. I continued running until I reached 3 miles but felt pretty sorry for myself. Luckily at 3 miles I was passing my house again so here I am. My hands are stinging something rotten :( So I am taking a 5 minute breather and having a glass of water and am contemplating getting back out there and doing the remaining 2-3 miles... we'll see how I feel after I disinfect my hands!

Sorry that happened to you. I LOVE to run--I only run in the forrest, on dirt trails, and let me tell you--it's treacherous! Lots of gnarly roots, and I trip everytime--fortunately I haven't fallen (yet). My route is usually 6 miles, and it's great because it's up and downhill. So I think it's really good to change up my heartrate.

Hey--tell me how you're enjoying the current 22.8 BMI?
 
I want to know, because my BMI's almost the same as yours right now and I was just thinking this morning that I don't feel overweight anymore--like, I'm in a good place and the homestretch is straight ahead--give me at the most 3 more months!

Hi Curvie Girlie, thanks for stopping by :D Running along trails sounds great! I am in the city but could run over/drive to some trails near the river. Once the weather gets a bit warmer I think I'll try that. :cool:

I think I kind of feel like you about the BMI. I don't feel overweight but I do definitely have big problem areas. Okay one main one - my stomach!!! :( So I am quite small on the bottom half, my jeans are falling off me right now. I am not complaining about that necessarily, just the fact that to look balanced, I am going to have to lose quite a bit from the top half! Luckily it's beginning to come off there now and my stomach is shrinking but I know a lot of fat has to shift before I reach my goal. I've set it at 120 which is within the healthy range but I decided over the last few days to reassess when (if!) I reach 126lbs. I don't want to look skinny but want to feel a bit more proportioned :) So yeah, I am feeling pretty good but that last part of the weight loss is going to be tough! I'm trying to kick it up a notch now - my goal date is about 2 and a half months from now but I am just trying as hard as I can to get close to that if I can't reach it! Never say never though! :D
 
you must be "apple-shaped"--I'm a pear, but my lower belly is slightly pooched and the skin is ...rumply I guess. Not cellulite per se, but like the skin was tired from being stretched out when I was chubbier. I think the appearance will get better in time (I hope).

I think I am apple shaped - yep, all my weight on my belly and chest! I reckon the appearance of the skin will definitely get better :D I wonder what mine will look like as it shrinks a bit more?!
 
Week 1 weigh in on the March challenge 132.5lbs down 1.5lbs, just missed out on the 2lbs!!! Oh well, it's close! My own personal mini-goal is Monday, I want to be 132lbs by then *crosses fingers*

I worked another 12 hour day yesterday and had a work dinner thing so didn't get home till really late - no exercise :( Looks like today will be long but I'm bagging up the gym kit and will do my very best to get there before closing at 9pm. Tomorrow morning I definitely have time but I am afraid I might want to sleep in because I am soooo tired. I have to go tonight, then tomorrow would be a bonus. I don't want to crap out on my exercise!
 
Thanks Venice girl! Happy Women's Day to you. I hadn't heard of this before but it was on my "far side" calendar this morning.

Yummy I just ate cheddar and broccoli soup for lunch :D Probably full of salt and calories but I don't care, it was lovely and was a good size :)

Got complimented this morning which was nice. Someone at work who I rarely see said I am disappearing! Ha! Not quite!!! She totally lifted up my top to see where I was - it was quite strange! She probably found quite a lot of me under the sweater cause that's where I hide it, around my middle :eek:
Not for long though hopefully!!! :D

Mal you are too funny :D Trust you to have grope-jealousy ;) It is nice when people notice but I wonder whether the groping thing will be a pattern when they notice. I seriously hope not - it might get a bit inconvenient... is this where you tell me no groping is inconvenient ;) :D

Okay so I have been running (not literally - I mean as in getting through the day) on a cup of tea today and it's 3:30, I have a headache coming on and I am seriously tired! It's time for a cup! I am trying to cut down just a wee bit but it's so hard! I love coffee!!!!!
 
Okay folks, it's Saturday and I have to go to work :( But... I am taking my gym gear with me so I'll round off my day with an intense workout! yay!
 
Have a great Saturday! I have an intese Kick-boe class to attend in an hour where the instructor (whom I call Pyscho Michael) works us out so hard, you can burn up to 700 caloires in an hour and 15 minutes
