 Okay so I officially hate Valentine's Day. I had a great time and it was nice but I went out to dinner and ending up eating 2126 calories according to fitday. Blehhhhhhh. I am never going to lose weight at this rate! My 0.5lbs a week needs to increase not decrease. It's just one day, true, but I have spent so much time at work this week that exercise and diet have come in at last place everytime. The good news is that I worked my butt off at the gym for about 45 minutes this morning. Did some weights, running and bicycing and burned about 240 calories. Have the apartment to myself this evening so I am going to make myself clean (burn calories!!) and then do some weights and sit-ups etc. This weekend is like full of things I HAVE to do but I am aiming to get in a 10k on Sunday. I need to pick up the pace a lot!!!!!

Don't beat yourself up too much over one day. You're allowed every once in a while. And it could be worse--you could have been alone and snowed in like I was.

awww, sorry you were alone and snowed in honeybunch82 :( that does suck. I know I am being a whiney baby but I am just frustrated. I feel that I am letting myself down because it's too cold to run outside (although it's not as cold as most places in the country right now) and I just can't make myself run for an hour on the treadmill. But I should. If it's too cold this weekend I will make myself run for an hour inside. Thanks for the support and sorry you had a rough day being snowed in :(

I know what you mean Rachie, running on the treadmill is so boring! Have you ever tried watching tv when "treadmilling"? Take any series you like, Gilmore Girls, Dr.House, Lost...they usually last 45 minutes and you get so involved watching them that you forget you're sweating on that boring machine. It works for me! ;)

Okay so food today so far....

Breakfast: cup of coffee as I dashed out the door to the gym

Lunch: wheat bread sandwich with turkey breast, lettuce and tomato, no dressing/butter/oil :D This is good for me!

Afternoon: coffee

calories so far 398.... it's about time for my snack though (must be good must be good) no idea what dinner will be as I am at work till 9pm again - blehhhhhhhh - probably some leftover mushroom pasta from the other night :)

I wish the gym had proper tv shows on Venice Girl but they just have the news channels - I love House and Lost :) I could run all day watching them! I live in a second floor apartment and don't have room for a treadmill plus my downstairs neighbors would kill me! I seriously want to buy one when I get a house - that or an elliptical trainer. That might be some distance to the future! I think I am going to make myself some good running mixes and listen to music as I run, that will help :)

Hey Rachie, I had pizza party last night with neighbors and hubby and I are going out to have dinner alone in a little while. I'm thinking it'll be a steakhouse and I'll get salad and grilled Chicken etc. That's what I'm planning on.

There was a snow day for college yesterday, but I don't have class on Wednesday.. the county schools are closed again tomorrow.. 3 days in a row. The kids will forget everything!

haha - the kids probably will forget everything :)
Have a great evening with hubby! Enjoy your meal out!
mmm pizza party sounds great!

So here are the results I got for cycling my calories at the site Sophie told me about - ta very much! :D

RESULTS - GUIDELINE ONLY
Maintenance: 1957 Calories/day
Fat Loss: 1566 Calories/day
Extreme Fat Loss: 1174 Calories/day

7 day calorie cycle (zig-zag)

Ex Fat Loss Fat Loss Maintain
Monday 1175 1566 1958
Tuesday 1088 1253 1566
Wednesday 1410 1879 2349
Thursday 1175 1566 1958
Friday 1088 1410 1762
Saturday 1292 1723 2153
Sunday 1175 1566 1958

So extreme fat loss, fat loss and maintain are the three sets of numbers. I think I zig-zag between them but Tuesday/Friday 1088 sounds way too low!erghh! This is apparently the exception and not the rule? Well, maybe I'll try the zig zag and throw in one extreme weight loss but maybe not down to below 1200 - I think that's the lowest they recommend for a woman. Okay I am headed over to your diary Sophie to see how you do this! :D

Goals

Okay so here are my mini-goals. I have always made these for myself but fell off the wagon and feel like I need some encouragement. I just stopped by your diary Sprite and you reminded me (along with others here) that I need to get these going again to motivate me :D

Okay so I am currently 135.5lbs (down 2.5lbs since I started posting here and 3.5lbs since the beginning of the year). My goal is 120lbs by May 19th of this year. This means 15.5lbs in.... 92 days I believe so I need to increase my weight loss to about 1.2lbs per week  This isn't crazy though, I just need to start tipping the scales a bit more so mini-goals......

1. 132lbs 12th March - friend's birthday
2. 128lbs 4th April - boyfriend's birthday :)
3. 124lbs 27th April - conference
4. 120lbs 19th May - GOAL DATE

Yay! So I have 3.5 weeks till my first goal date of 132lbs and 3.5lbs to lose by then - ooh that works out quite well eh?! Alright, the goal is on!

I think the mini-goals are a great idea--when you look at the whole thing, it get's intimidating.

Mine first mini-goal is to be down to 140 by March 22 (4 lbs to go)

Friday

Thank you for the encouragement Sprite and Honeybunch :) Good luck with your goals too! :D

Exercise today: 1 mile walk (to gym), 5 mins on exercise bike, 2 miles on treadmill

Food today:

Morning snack: small danish pastry type thing (at a meeting), coffee

Lunch: lean cuisine mac and cheese (not very tasty but not sure what I expected - I just saw CHEESE), side salad with low fat salad dressing.

Afternoon snack: Reduced Fat Vanilla Wafers

Dinner: chicken wings, tenderloin salad and glass of red wine

Totals so far - will update later:
Calories out: 2807
Calories in: 1550
Weight this morning: 135lbs

Yesterday's calories were 1152 (kinda low) the cycling thing says 1175 for extreme fat loss Thursday's so I was close to that, if I increase today to the fat loss one then I should be on about 1410 calories... so the final amount today was a little higher than that  but still not bad!

Week 6 Weigh in

Still 135.5lbs so no weight loss this week. I have had some people notice that I have lost weight though :D This is good! This week's goal is to pick up the training - the weather is supposed to warm up so I am hoping I get some road running in. Basically I am going to keep working away at it!

***Goal 1: 3.5lbs to go by March 12th***

hi rachie about the calorie thing.. i think the website said that it is okay to dip below 1200 once in a while.. i think its just when you are doing it day in day out that is is dangerous and will slow metabolism/ the cylcing makes sure that you are having enough calories throughout the week .. just in different amounts daily so that your metabolism is being worked harder.. i think thats why there are some at 1500 and some at 1000 ish.
