wow your differences are really big like mine :) im never too trusting of fitday anymore though because even though theres usually at least a thousand calories different for me everyday i am only losing about a pound a week still?
have you found this too?

Hey Sophie, I thought that too! I mean my weight did drop today but normally I eat about 1500 calories a day and I have been dropping at about 0.5lbs per week? Maybe I am just using fitday incorrectly or underestimating my calories? Who knows!!
 
yeah .. well i thought it was a bit high so i dropped my bmi to make allowances .. so then even if fitday had calculated it wrong then it was okay because i was eating less if you get what i mean.

i found that to give a daily calorie needs estimate for fat loss - it is like calorie bouncing to prevent a plateau. im going to give it a try .. thought id share it with you :) see what you think. im thinking of alternating the weeks of ex.fat loss and fat loss.
give my metabolism something to work at .. keep it fast
 
So I weighed in at 134lbs this morning (shock!) I think I overate my 1500 goal by about 300 calories yesterday (oops) but was still less in than out - will post this stuff later. I must work hard this weekend and not screw up my food and be sure to exercise. I have a party this evening and I know there are lots of yummy snacks to be served! eek! But I am really pleased!!! I have been weighing in on the 10th of the month for the last 2 years since I started regularly going to the gym... 10th Jan I was 139lbs and 10th Feb (today) I am 5lbs less! I hope this sudden drop doesn't ricochet back up. Must work hard to stop that from happening. I tend to get a bit excited and eat lots of bad food! Will update my ticker on Monday as usual as that's my weekly weigh in :)

Good luck tomorrow Sophie! My official weigh in is Monday, usually my heaviest day of the week after the weekend splurges! I am about to go to the party where I am eating dinner too (buffet - UHOH!). So far today I have only had 577 calories so I am pretty safe... I just have to....stay away from cakes (my weakness), and eat the healthy stuff first and have small plates right!?! Oh and I will limit my alcohol intake too - that's always a killer. Wish me luck folks!
 
thankyou..good luck to you tooo! the first time you go to the buffet just get a whole plate full of salad/fruit stuff and then go back and sit down and munch your way through it and have a drink with it too. and then if youre still hungry then go back to get some little treats and some more salad. that way then youre not just piling your plate with pastries and cakes etc..
you have the will power :)
 
Week 5 Weigh In :)

Yep, another 0.5lbs! yay! I weighed in at 135.5lbs this morning. It would be nice to drop a bit more a week but I am not going to knock it too much. Loss = good! :D
 
Congrats on your 0.5 lbs! Anyway, don't worry too much, my doctor told me that the average weight loss for an healthy diet is 4.5 lbs a month (2 kgs). You know, the weight you lose too fast will come back as fast when you start eating normally again.

Thanks Venice girl :) I have heard slow and steady wins the race but it's always hard to see small numbers. Although as long as they go down and are consistent I think I shouldn't worry too much. Thanks again! :D
 
I'm 5'4 photocrazed :) It's funny because I have quite long skinny legs which never really gain weight and then I have my short upper half where I carry all my weight on my belly :(

I'm 5'4" too. I have never had long skinny legs though. I've always had very muscular toned legs until I gained weight. :( I have 2 older brothers and ALL boys around when I was growing up. I was lifting weights with them and gaining muscle at an early age. I just wish I had kept it up.

I gain weight ALL over, so it's harder for others to guess how much I really weigh.
 
Yep - my Dad always warns me to not do too many weights because he says if I stop it'll all turn to fat! Thanks Dad! I think I will be going to the gym forever though. It's great for my stress levels and is helping with weight and getting some muscle. I also gain weight in ahem * looks embarassed* my chest so the weights are helping my back out a lot! Your toned and muscular legs will be back in no time :) I have been gaining muscle on my legs and I love it! No more chicken legs for me! Oh and I have never had much of a butt either and think I'm about the only girl at the gym who's thinking "hell yeah my ass is getting bigger!" Gaining muscle on my bottom half is great for helping me look more proportioned.
 
Lunch: 2 wasa crispbreads, bowl of salad w/ green peppers, grape tomatoes, carrots, 3 slices roast beef, 1 cup cottage cheese.
 
I wish I gained weight all over like photocrazed. I too gain it mostly in the stomach--which is just so depressing. It sounds like you're doing well, though. Just keep it up!

Today I weighed 136lbs again. It really does bounce around a lot! I feel like I have been so busy at work I haven't entered all foods into fitday and have slacked off a bit on the exercise front. I went to the gym this morning but it was hard work and ended up just doing 3 miles slow jog/walk on the treadmill. I am hoping I feel more energetic tomorrow :) I already ate my lunch today, roast beef (still on our Sunday dinner leftovers!) sandwich on wheat bread with a little mayo. Have a Kashi bar for a snack and then I am hoping to leave work early (not really early - just a more normal time - still a 9 hour day!) so I can chill out tonight and do better on my workout tomorrow.
