Rachie's Diary

Good Morning Rachie!!
Good to see you back :) And Sophie is right - that pound will come off in NO time!

glad you h ad a good time :) one lb up from being away is awesome - when yu aren't controlling the food you get subjected to all sorts of sodium and other things - it'll come back down again :D

Hello everyone! It's been another brutal work week :( I have been working out hard and walking everywhere I can as well as eating well. But I still have the same stubborn weight! I know I just have to keep working hard :)

Hope you are all well. I should be around again more soon! I miss this place! x

we miss you too you busybee! glad to hear that you are kicking ass in your workouts ... that weight will come off, although i do hold the theory that the lower you get the slower it comes off. look at me still stuck on getting under 119 since blimming february :D we'll fight it together
hope you get some chill out time soon xx

Sorry you're so busy! But it's great that you're still working hard at your weight loss. Have a wonderful weekend, Rachie!

Phew! It's been a hectic weekend! Can't wait to visit home and have some down time! I had a 5k race yesterday. It was hot as heck and it's a tough course but I made it in 28 minutes dead on! Not bad considering I haven't really run outside more than a couple of times in the past month. It's officially my personal best for a 5k race - although half my 10k was in 27 minutes and something... that was a cool day and a flat course. So I am pleased :)

The scales has gone up a few pounds - I was 134lbs this morning - but had forgotten about aunt flow visiting! So I am relieved because I didn't think I had been doing badly! I am going to run in the morning with the boyfriend and then really start building up longer runs towards the goal of the half marathon in 4 months.

I also am still waiting for those stubborn pounds to come off. I don't hold much hope of being a small size all over but it would be nice if the differential between my bottom half and top half were a little smaller! Looking for dresses for this wedding was a nightmare!!!

Anyhoo - it's going to be a busy week... have a big talk, dinner with newly engaged friends (yay!), packing and then jetting off to the UK for family time and weddings and catching up with old friends! Must take my running gear and not overindulge on those good old British foods!!!

Monday

So I was 133lbs this morning, starting to lose some of the water weight :) I have to set my goals for my half marathon and the rest of my weight loss. Obviously I have plateaued recently. Seems like a lot of things out of my control have got in my way of exercising.... also I need to make sure that those things don't get in my way.. so I am going to set myself some targets and if I reach them... should say WHEN I reach them, I'll update.

Summer goals
* Reach 126lbs; improve eating habits to aid this!
* Steadily increase running to 35-40 miles a week in anticipation of the half
marathon
* Be able to run 5k in a sub-25 min time
* Be able to run 10k in a sub-50 min time
* Be able to run half-marathon in 2.5 hours

Along with this I want to learn to be happier with the way I look now and not always be thinking about the way I will look. I am so much fitter than when I began my journey and I feel so much better. I am substantially lighter than when I started... I have improved my 10k time by 7 minutes and 5k time by over 2 minutes. I am actually considering a half-marathon and not thinking it's a crazy idea! I may not be where I want to be but that's half the challenge right?

Hi Rachie, and that's great you have set some new goals for yourself. I have no doubt you can do the half marathon!

Have a great week!

Thanks Tom!

I'm back down to 132lbs today so I hope to see those numbers continue to go down :) Have a big presentation today so all that nervous energy is hopefully burning up calories... really hope so as I was a major idiot yesterday and managed to hit my knee really hard on a metal fence post :( It is swollen and painful and I can't do exercise for a few days :(

Oh well - thinking positive thoughts!!!

I hope your presentation went well, and your knee gets better soon! I hope to be around more and more encouraging the coming weeks.

Thanks photocrazed! I hear ya - I need to be around here more often too :)

Just quickly stopping by as I fly home today... weight is 131.5lbs today so it really is going back down... now I have to be good so I fit into my dress on Saturday for the wedding :) I'll get some good pictures and find a decent one of me :)

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday - I hope to stop by quickly tomorrow!

I'm back and in desperate need of some running and eating better!!! I haven't weighed in yet after my 10 day trip to the wedding and home but I know I have gained a little. I am not going to think about that right now though. I'm going for a run this evening when it's cooled down a bit and plan to hit the gym or run every day until Friday when I'll weigh in :)

Hope everyone is doing great! I am off out to run some errands but will be back and checking in on everyone later!!!

Okay so I still haven't caught up with anyone. I'm up to my ears in work right now but I have been exercising and eating right. I am still too scared to get on the scale but I know that I am getting back into the swing of things. I think by Friday next week I'll have worked up the courage to see where my weight falls. Hopefully by then it'll be back to the weight I was before my trip home!

I realized there's no way I can afford the half marathon I originally intended to run because I'd have to stay there and all the hotels are 3-night minimum... but I found a much cooler, smaller half marathon here in town at the end of September. It's trail running and road running and all along the river and is a really neat course. So I am excited and have planned out a rough training schedule.

Anyway - I see a lot of progress is being made round here. Sunny, your ticker is almost to the target! I hope to catch up with you all soon either later today or tomorrow :)

Ugh too much work :( I worked my butt off exercising today! Determined to continue with my weight loss and have to start training consistently outdoors for the half marathon. So I have been racking up 4 gym sessions a week, burning 300 cals each time. I am starting running outdoors as well, even though it's hot as a hot thing out there. Running outdoors in the Summer is sure to help with my caffeine addiction. I'm going to have to drink waaay more water if the redness of my face right now is anything to go by! Still, I did my 300 cals at the gym this morning and came home and ran 2.3 miles. It's way too hot out there but I have to get used to it and drink more water before and afterwards - during too for longer distances!

keep it up keep it up! youre loving it really and the feeling it gives you too :) youre achieving so much and im very proud. and also: a half marathon....wowwwzer good for you chick! xx

Thanks Sophie :) I'm still not around the forum enough but I have been good! I hope everyone is doing well. I am going to try and check in later. Have to work this afternoon but I am hoping it's quiet so I can stop by :)

So this week I ran a few times. Did 3 miles this morning and I wanted to do more but I don't want to overdo it given that I haven't had very high mileage recently. I am going to hit the road again tomorrow morning and my goal this week is to add half a mile onto my in the week runs and go for a 4-5 mile longer one at the weekend. I need to work up to running 8 miles on alternate days in the week and longer at the weekend. Must look at my training plan.

Anyway, ran three times outdoors and hit the gym 3 days this week so feeling good. I'll check in again soon!!

I hope you're still kicking ass with your running. Very impressive, Rachie. I hope you're around more often soon. I've been MIA for a while too, but I'm glad to say I'm back to my own computer and can feed my Forum addiction all day long!!
