Hello~
My name's Rachel.
I've been on my diet plan for four months and lost 28 pounds, however I started to lose motivation because my goal is still so far away. I joined here today looking for a boost of morale and after reading these diaries I am inspired! So I've decided to keep on going no matter what and start my own diary.:)
I'll try to post at least once a week after my weekly weigh in.
Age: 19
Height: 5'5

My Starting weight: 247 lbs.
My Current weight: 219 lbs.
My Goal weight: 120 lbs.

28 lbs down 99 lbs to go

Welcome to your diary.

Good luck with your project.

I have to say that 120 pounds is a very aggressive target. It would give you a BMI of 20.0 which is the bottom of the healthy range. You may well find that the ideal size for your body shape is higher than this.

There is little point in thinking that you have further to go than you may have... It may make the task appear more daunting which could be counter-productive.

A target of 150 pounds would give a BMI of 25 which is at the other end of the healthy range.

I would aim for 150 in the first instance - and see how things look when you get there.

Hi Rachel,

When I joined up here last October I had the same sort of thoughts: I had done really well by losing 40 pounds by then, but was still so big and still had so far to go that it was frustrating. My first post on my diary on here says as much. As far as I can tell, these are normal thoughts.

What you can't let it do is stop you. Quitting sure as hell won't speed up the process. Since then I've lost another 105 to go with the 40, and now the end don't seem so far away anymore. Patience is hard, but it really is worth it and eventually the things you do to get healthy are just part of your normal life and no longer any sort of sacrifice.

Good luck and welcome aboard!
